Profile missing or inaccessible
I tried all the solutions and still no luck. Every time firefox is closed and I try to reopen, I get this message even after the implementation of a new profile. The new profile does not remain in the Profile Manager.
Could you dig into your Firefox data and see if the files exist or will disappear? It's on a hidden path, so you can first switch from Windows to display the hidden files and folders:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/show-hidden-files
Then search for:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox
There is a shortcut, you should be able to launch this file by pasting this into the search box of Windows system, and then pressing ENTER:
%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox
In the Firefox folder, you will find (among others):
(1) a Profiles folder (2) a. profiles.ini file *.
The profiles.ini file stores the names of the profiles that you have created in the Profile Manager.
These profiles should actually exist in the Profiles folder. If you compare, you see what is the problem? For example, individual profiles folders are missing or profiles that you created are not listed in profiles.ini.
If the entire record seems to be haunted desperately, I suggest to rename the Firefox OldFox folder and the next time you run Firefox, it must create a default profile and a new file profiles.ini.
* .ini is one of the file extensions that Windows normally hides. To more easily confirm the full file names, you can configure Windows to show all file extensions. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

Cannot load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible.
I had downloaded a game, and while he was full I tried to open it in order to play. After I opened my laptop hanged just for long time that I am impatient and decided to restart. Since then, I can't use Mozilla firefox because it does not open, but only displays the text "failed to load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. ", but since that time, on my desk there was a folder that appeared under the name 'old data firefox' Please help
You must locate the profiles.ini file and delete this file or use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.
See:
This problem may be caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file or with the permissions (owner) of the concerned files.
You can use one of them to retrieve an existing profile or create a new default profile for Firefox:
- Remove the profiles.ini file to make Firefox create a new profile (default)
- Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
If you have an existing profile, then click on "Choose a folder" in the Profile Manager and navigate to the location of a profile lost to recover this profile
https://support.Mozilla.org/KB/managing+profiles
You should find the file profiles.ini in this hidden place:
- Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
* C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\ - Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.
- Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
If the file profiles.ini compensation does not work then also check the location of the cache files.
- Windows: * C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
- Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/
- Linux:~/.cache/Mozilla/Firefox/
You can also try to rename/delete the MozillaFirefox folder in the two above mentioned places (main, cache).

Error message: unable to load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible
I know that others have had this problem but none of the validated answers turned out to be viable. When I try to start Firefox, the browser does not open and I see the following message appears: "unable to load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. "I am running Windows 8.1.
It's what happened leading up to this problem. I was passing through normally when I received a pop up message that says a threat has been detected, and Mozilla had a security patch that I have to download. This is the expedition of phishing malware believer, I closed the browser and restart the computer without having to download anything. When I restarted the computer, everything was normal and I googled for information on what had just happened, to see if I really needed a security patch. A forum suggested that I already have a virus/malware that caused the popup, and that I should deal with the possibility that updating Firefox. Then I refreshed Firefox, which seemed harmless enough. The update took the time, so I finally closed the window to refresh. Maybe I should let the window update but it was taken way too long - after that it's my problem to start with the error message.
Since then, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I also deleted the profile folder in the hope that it would force the creation of a new folder. Nothing has worked. Someone has suggestions for Firefox run again?
Thank you!
Hi jbspear, please press the windows key + r and open: %APPDATA%\protector.exe
There you should find a folder named "Mozilla". try to rename it to something like "Mozilla.bak" (or delete it if you don't like your old firefox bookmarks, passwords and customizations) and then try to restart firefox...

Firefox updated "bookmark backups" folder is empty. Had to change profile.ini to profile.iniOLD to work around the problem "profile is missing or inaccessible. I tried jscher2000 suggested the procedure to return to the old profile but did not include 'semi random name' in the folder of old data from Firefox, which seems to be incomplete, as said "favorite backups" folder is empty and stupid I'm not manually save my favorites (years of research). I thought when I ran the time machine they saved automatically. is it possible to recover bookmarks?

While browsing using the Firefox web browser, all of a sudden it crashed it.I tried to re-open it. But it did not open. I tried to do this several times.
Then I uninstalled and yet once installed latest version of Firefox.
It's the same thing.Whenever I try o open Firefox, the msg - box says: "your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible. »
Help, please...!
A likely cause is a problem with the file profiles.ini and the profile marked as the default value = 1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.
- Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. - http://KB.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
You can use one of them to make the Creation/use of a new default profile for Firefox:

You can leave it in place and restore the C:\Restore file e00qmtzd.default.

The reason why I deleted my firefox profile on my MAC and uninstalled firefox is because it was not appearing in the application menu or the dock and I have found whenever I wanted to use it. I couldn't put it on the dock or anything like that.
When I downloaded again and tried to start it, there was the error message, "unable to load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. "And now I can't use it at all.You must remove the file profiles.ini so because Firefox registers all the profiles you see in the Profile Manager in this file and delete the file on disk, Firefox will display this error message.
Otherwise, you will need to use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.

Profile Firefox cannot be loaded, it can be missing or inaccessible WINDOWS 8
I have a Windows 8 OS on a PC. I've been using Firefox as my browser for several months. So, when I try to load Firefox, I get an error message, «could not load your profile Firefox.» It may be missing or inaccessible. "I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox version 21.0 twice and still get the same error message. How to file using Windows 8 profile.ini, and what I do when I'm always here?
It may be best to do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder in case that some items in the Firefox program folder and those that can be used to initialize a new profile.
Note that Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them include .html, .ini and .js, .txt, so you can see only a name without the file extension.
You can see the actual file type if you open the properties via the context menuYou can find the full version of the latest version of Firefox 22.0 in all languages and for all systems operating here:
Also create a new profile.
You can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

Don't load your Firefox profile. May be missing or inaccessible.
Don't load your Firefox profile. May be missing or inaccessible.
Hello mal3chka, if you remove the profiles.ini file, then a new default profile will be created the next time you start the application and a new profiles.ini file will be generated that references the new profile.
Thank you

Profile missing on new install
My original problem was with the transfer of a profile to a new computer, but I'll come back later. Trying to fix it seems to have created another.
When I run my * newly installed * version of Thunderbird, I get the error message "unable to load your Thunderbird profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. "It's probably because I deleted the profile folder - notice, I did it before you uninstall then reinstall TB. I assumed that a new facility would create a new profile, but appears not to be the case. How can I solve this problem?
Note: I deleted the folder because it has been corrupted when I replaced it with my old profile, so I can't just 'undelete' to obtain a profile of back work. Win 8, previous profile was created under Win XP.
Start the Profile Manager and delete the orphaned profile entry.
http://KB.mozillazine.org/Profile_manager
Create a new profile, and then copy the old top.

I read through the different post / solutions. I can nopt find the profile on my hard drive file. Until a month or two ago was able to use Firefox on this machine. Now not.
How can I solve this problem?
Attention MAC users: Lion and Maverick hide folders, you need to remove in order to get rid of this error message about the missing profiles folder. Hold down the option key while opening the go menu in the finder. Select the library.
(Yes, it's a little different from the other library folder, you access the 'easy' way). Drag any folder Firefox or Mozilla, you see in the trash. Secure the trash removal. Download the latest Firefox and have him as usual. This parasite is not on Mozilla. This is life after Steve Jobs at Apple. Get used to it.

I started having the "it's embarrassing, impossible to find the website of your last" whenever I started Firefox. This happens even my preferences always says go to the home page. I deleted the folder of Firefox and re-installed application part. It did not work. Then, I deleted the folder 'profile' for firefox and then emptied the trash, so I can't get it back.
Now when I try to reinstall Firefox, I can't access the new installation of Firefox because I always 'no profile folder exists or is inaccessible. If you return to the location of your previous profile folder (I hope that you back up your bookmarks at least?) and navigate to a level to the Firefox folder, you can find a text file called profiles.ini which always points to the folder that is now gone. To help Firefox to forget the old profile, you can try to rename or delete this file and restart Firefox. Does it work?
Also, I read in another thread that the error you received is caused by a bug where you exit Firefox, when there is no more open pages. The solution is to quit smoking at least a page open.

I was in the middle of restoring the default settings on Firefox and it was cleaning when my pc crashed. When I restarted I got the above problem. I first tried to update Firefox, then I uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem persists.
Users/user/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles contains a file called 2nzoh7re.default - 14046642433
I did some screen dumps, but cannot find a way to include them here. I can't also instal troubleshooting information because it produces just the same persistent error message. I am currently forced on that I can't access Firefox. You can create a new profile.
See "create a profile":
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting on the problem
