spool of printer, where and what - what mine says is not runnig

When I try to print it says printer spool does not

You can try to disable your print spooling.  This means that when you print, you must wait for printing to stop before proceeding, but it could be a solution.  To do this, follow the instructions in this article:

"How to troubleshoot issues that you may experience when you try to print to a local printer by using Office programs in Windows XP"

About 3/4 down there is one subsection titled "change the spooler settings."
This does not solve the problem, but it might get you going again.
