propeller: additional ssd instead wwan

I think to replace T420 with propeller. My only concern is that I must have at least 500 GB hard drive size.

Does anyone know is it possible to replace the card WWAN Helix with additional msata SSD.

Thanks in advance!

Maintenance of equipment of Helix ==> http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?DocID=UM017304 manual

The WWAN card does not seem to use an interface mPCIe, rather, using a connector Ribbon in a way any. See PDF page 65 (manual page 59). It is not soldered to the system board.

Replacing the existing mSATA SSD seems to be the only way to increase the capacity built once disks > 256Go are readily available, as long as there is no standard on the interface of the propeller.

Edit: Just ran across this: http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/samsung-pm841-512gb-msata-ssd-review-performance-and-capacity-in...

Interesting...

Kind regards.

I have a 5200-701 and the HARD drive has a large number of bad sectors. So I would use a SSD instead of the HARD disk on a regular basis. Anyone know who is real and compatible? I also tried to install Vista but after start of the cd, the installation of vista tells me lack driver CD/DVD. I have a TEAC DW -? and vista seems to have problems with loading the atapi driver right?

Do you mean that you want to use the Solid State Drive?

HM, I think you're the first person here who would like to use this drive in this old notebook.
To be honest I don't very well if you can use and if the BIOS support for m.
But this is only a suggestion.

In addition you must known that Vista can not be installed on each laptop. Vista needs a lot of resources and it s really counterproductive using Vista on this laptop because everything runs slower than using the other OS like Win XP for example.

Finally and above all the Vista already contains the CD/DVD driver. It of a Microsoft driver and it s is not necessary and not possible to install a special driver ODD.
It has the same like to use Win XP. You n t need any driver CD/DVD. The operating system should automatically recognise!

  • Add hp Zbook G3 studio additional ssd - drive surgestions

    Dear community,

I would add an additional SSD to my Hp Zbook g3 studio. I found that the following SSD is compatible with my laptop but unfortunately it was sold for the last 2 months.

Essential MX200 m2 Type 2280 (Single Sided) 500 GB internal SSD

Therefore, I have a few questions about an additional SSD:

-Is it better to add an SSD of 500 GB and the use of external storage or a 1 terabyte SSD?

-Each SSD 2280 m2 (single Sided) is compatible with my laptop?

    - And what is someone knows an SSD alternative to the above which is compatible with my laptop?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Greetings,

    Rick,

The complexity of all this is the way out of hand. What you are, it is a SATA m2. I just put a disc of NVME m2 (aka PCI-e) of 512 gigabytes in my G3 Zbook (no studio). I know that your laptop is a little different, but I'm pretty sure that it's the same kind of m2 of housing and I don't know that a SATA would work. I know that it doesn't work the other way around. If the laptop is made for the m2 SATA drives only, you cannot use a PCI-e. In fact, I installed an official part of HP. The ordering process is another question, but let's say I got it, and it turns out to be a Samsung SM951:

    https://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-SM951-512GB-NVMe-MZVPV512HDGL-00000/DP/B015CWR4M2/ref=pd_lpo_147_tr_t_3?ie=UTF8 & PSC = 1 & refRID = YA2TAQZPDE3NNQCWCNSH

I used it to replace a Samsung PM951 256 concert which is like the PCI-e m2 budget model, so I know that two of them are working.

Look at the pictures and you can see a difference. The SATA drive has 3 pins that plug in and the PCI-e has only 2.

    The manual on page 2:

    Manual

Specifies EITHER a SATA m2 or a PCI-e, so you can be OK, but I'll tell you a PCI - e has double or triple the speed of read/write.

    Mine supports 2 x m2 and a 2.5 inch SATA. Your accepts 2 x m2 I read the manual and what appears to be a 2.5 inch non-standard SD

I actually still the 256 PM951 concert. We can help you find something compatible and I can tell you that the HP part was estimated at a very favourable point (about the same as the Crucial which is out of stock) If you can't stand waiting rather difficult and slow checkout process.

  • I can add install additional SSD on the S230U Twist HHD version?

    The price is very close to 128gSSD / 4 g/i5 and i7 / 8 g/320gHHD?
Can I buy the latest version and install additional SSD by myself to get the best flexibility to upgrade?

    Hi, Woodennail

Unfortunately this isn't possible without voiding the warranty. As evidenced by this page, the only parts that can be replaced by a user are the hard drive and the hard drive cover. Any other room, for example an mSATA SSD, must be installed or replaced by the staff of Lenovo.

  • Pavilion dv6: install a bisides additional ssd HARD drive

My PC is slow to start especially, but also in other situations. Is it possible and wil it help with an additional SSD. A hybrid disc would be a possibility?

    DV6-6b20eo is the model.

It is an AMD processor and these models do not have a slot for card WSSD mSATA, then your only option for one SSD is to replace the internal hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

  • Why Dell does not sell everything in those with SSD instead of a regular HD

    Hello

Even when SSD is mentioned in the General introduction sheet, when you try to buy an all-in-one, work station, laptop... Never, I can choose an SSD instead of a normal hard drive.

I have a XPS12 laptop and it has a 128 Gb SSD af. An SSD gives a phenomenal speed boost, without noise, without vibrations, a fantastic user experience! The best improvement for years.

Dell, please modify your products and offer at least a small SSD!

    Thanks in advance, Geert.

    Hi Geert,

Thanks for that bring to our attention. I suggest you please voice your opinion here: storm of idea because we firmly believe the customer feedback plays an important role in the evaluation of our products and services. While I can't make any promises that each all-in-one system will be available with an internal SSD but right now we have 18 XPS which provides an option to configure with an mSATA SSD that works as a caching mechanism to improve faster boot process. You can check XPS 18 here: http://dell.to/13j1R5V

  • Adding additional SSD for dell xps 15 with 256 GB SSD

Hi, I just bought a dell xps 15 9550 with 6th gen i7, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB ssd. Is it possible to add an additional SSD for the location of hard disk 2.5 inches remaining. If possible do I need to buy the cable for SSD too or is that what cable already included here?

    Thanks in advance,

There is a support and a set of rubber bumper needed to connect a disk 2.5 "hard.  In general, these are not delivered with the system unless it is controlled with a hard drive - you must remove the base of the cover to check if - some reports are that some versions can be delivered with the necessary equipment.  If not, they are likely available from spare parts from Dell and from other sources such as EBay and third Dell parts suppliers such as share - People.com.

  • HP Envy 15-j030eb additional SSD

    Hello

I have a laptop HP Envy 15 j030eb (product number: E4N79EA). I was wondering if the laptop had an additional location for one SSD (on the top of the 1 TB drive HARD is already)?

I think remember me reading that it only supports a 24 GB SSD. Now, I do not wish to transfer my Windows installation disk, I would use it probably just to install applications or games on it.

Could someone clear this up for me and if the laptop can indeed contain an SSD, could you let me know which models are compatible with my laptop?

    Thank you very much

1 Yes, a cache of WSSD acceleration results in a major improvement in two things: 1. a start; and improving is like an order of magnitude... 20 seconds instead of 200 seconds; and 2. opening of the fair of used programs. Your web browser, word processing, etc. "opens". It did not help sustained Read and write operations such as video of the things edition, contributing to a full size complete with SSD.

    2. Yes, you can replace the mechanical drive with a standard 2.5-inch SATA SSD. You get all the benefits of the MSSD plus best read write operations and sustained. SSD are not helpful for the game, however. The game will open and begin more quickly, but the frame will rates not go up because the game itself is not happening in space storage but in CPU and memory and video memory, that none will affect the SSD much. If you change a lot of photos or videos or something similar (ie the actual work of the computer), which involves a lot of reading and writing to the hard drive, an SSD will open a whole new world for you. I'll never get another laptop or any other computer with a mechanical hard drive. The cost of an SSD was almost a dollar concert 18 months ago and now it's more at 55 or 60 cents per concert or even a little less. You need at least a gig SSD 240. Do not opt for something smaller.

  • mSATA SSD in WWAN location in e7240

    Hello

I am interested in getting an mSATA SSD in the WWAN slot in e7240. Apart from the LITEON SSD (which doesn't seem to be available in my position), what other SSD can be used? If you use a SSD in this slot, I would like to know the make and model and additional effort/questions that you face?

    Thank you.

Replying to my own post in case anyone else has the same question. The mSATA Samsung Evo fits well. Unfortunately it does not come with a screw and the seller did not have a spare or (!). So I went with the Plextor M6M (which is the same as the LITEON SSD Dell has default SSD). Works very well.

  • Installation Kit SSD instead of on DV6-6011TX DVD player

Can someone please make me if it is possible to replace the DVD drive on my DV6-6011TX with a SSD drive (+ kit to install)?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,

    Babur

Yes it is possible, but the interface to the optical drive is probably not as fast as SATA connections hard disk because it does not need to be. You would be much better to install the SSD as drive and put a standard mechanical spinner disc into the adapter of optical drive for storage purposes. Put an SSD in there is somewhat a waste.

Optical drive is 12.7 mm thick if you need this card:
