Proxy Web on ISA 500

Hi all

This may seem like a basic question, but I'm looking to set up the external "Web Proxy" feature in ISA 500. My main question is this web proxy can be an internal proxy which is the use of the word "external" refer to area WAN or it refers to 'external' to the device?

Thank you

Eoghan

It refers to a Web Proxy which is 'External' of the device.  Please see the link below for more information on the configuration.

  • ISA 500 series DNS/DNS redirector caching

    Do the new 500 series firewalls ISA serve Caching DNS servers/DNS forwarders?  In other words, this product will allow us to point to the IP address of the firewall as the DNS server for the clients on the local network?  If she does not have the ability to act as a DNS server cache / redirector DNS, it will allow clients to resolve host names to the names of a DHCP reservation and return the IP from a DHCP reservation to clients who ask the unit in this way?

    Most of the products of small companies offer this feature, but it is unclear if the ISA 500 series provides this feature to look over the models and technical data sheets.

    I know that we can always drop a full DNS server into our customer environment, but is not always financially possible for our customers.  So I hope to get some sort of confirmation Yes or no Cisco Small Business people on knowledge if ISA 500 series products offer this feature.

    Thank you!!

    Yes, ISA can act as a DNS redirector and clients DNS resolution requests can be directed to the internal IP address of the ISA.  However, the ISA is unable to resolve the host names of DHCP delegation at this time.

  • Download binary files with the RESTful web service = HTTP 500?

    I want to allow access to the photos (BLOBs) stored in the database via a RESTful APEX service.

    I have an API of PL/SQL existing based on wpg_docload.download_file works well when called directly on the URL (for example granted to APEX_PUBLIC_USER). I would like to re - use this API because it a lot of other things, including security and the cache.

    The code looks like:
    ===
    Photo of procedure (id number, v in varchar2) is
    l_blob blob.
    -- ...
    Start
    -security checks
    -extract the data in l_blob...
    -check if the document has been updated (304)
    -- ...
    owa_util.mime_header (l_mime_type, false);
    HTP.p ("Content-length: ' |") DBMS_LOB.GetLength (l_blob));
    HTP.p ("ETag:" | ") l_etag);
    HTP.p ('Cache-Control: public');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file (l_blob);
    end;
    ===

    However, when I call this API with APEX 4.2.1 Restful WebService (the GET - PL/SQL source type resource manager) I get a "500 - internal server error" back to the listener of the APEX (2.0.0.354.17.08 - both running standalone or with Tomcat 7) - console log attached.

    A similar approach - APEX RESTful WebService API in PL/SQL call - works fine for the content of the STRING/CLOB. So it must be something to do with the wpg_docload.download_file

    No idea how to work around this bug/feature or a suggestion for an alternative approach will be appreciated.

  • Acrobat and Proxy Web servers

    Hello

    I don't know if it's a Livecycle issue or a Question of Acrobat.

    We have a Livecycle form that calls a Web service - it works very well on the internet.

    One of our clients has a Proxy Server that performs a redirection to force users to enter a user name + password.  Acrobat generates a "network" error in this environment

    Is there anyway that acrobat can be mirrored for the WebService call?

    My expectation is not - and that the Web service url should be added to a list of Proxy white or similar

    Thank you

    You are right... Acrobat will not know what to do with the authentication proxy prompt.

  • Could not generate code to activate one or several web fonts [Error 500].

    All of a sudden, my file of muse in trying to export to HTML, could not generate code to activate one or several web fonts on page... I worked on this site for days and had no problems with the fonts already. What happens when I try to export as HTML. I rebooted, changed my fonts, my fonts to the original font. It's apparent to help.

    Thank you!

    The original bug that triggered this error for many customers from mid-2015 to mid-September has been fixed by an update of CCLibraries, who was part of an update of the Creative Cloud Desktop application that went live in mid September 2015. Since that time, there are still some customers encounter this error. In these cases, the cause appears to be a mismatch in the State of the connection between Muse, Typekit, and Creative Cloud Desktop app.

    To correct this discrepancy, please follow these steps:

    (1) abandonment muse

    (2) go to the designer Cloud Desktop app and disconnection of preferences (it's in a menu of the gear icon).

    (3) leave the creative cloud office.

    (4) restart creative Cloud Desktop.

    (5) sign.

    (6) revive the Muse.

    At this point, you should be able to publish, upload, etc and your Typekit fonts should work without errors.

  • I can't activate the web services, printer asking proxy address, ISP says no proxy

    I want to print from the ipad, iphone etc. with wireless turned on and connected. Try to activate the printer asking proxy that my ISP says that there is no proxy, web services, help with what I can do. I bought it only so that I can print from my ipad, the retailer does not know how to put in place, help please if you can

    There is another option to put in a custom DNS server. The integrated Web server for this model may be slightly different, but the following steps apply for all HP printers.

    What you want to do is to collect the IP address of the printer, you can do this by pressing the icon on the screen wireless and you will have to go to display settings after. Take this ip address and put it in the address bar of your web browser as a Web page. From there, go to the tab network along the top of this page, then you should have an option of ipv4 on the left side under wireless (or wired) If you are using ethernet. Here, you can set a manual IP address and a DNS Server Manual. Configure the DNS server to manual and put as a main 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as secondary.

    These measures will have the printer through the servers DNS googles, which does not seem to solve this problem, most of the time. The main cause is that your ISP DNS servers may not have servers of web services in their system, so when it goes to connect it times out and gives you the message from proxy.

  • Configuration of the ASA to ISA authentication proxy support

    I have an ASA configured for internet and remote vpn termination. I would use a proxy for remote access vpn clients ISA authentication. Configure this support on the SAA?

    David,

    Given that this is a forum of Cisco (I can google it, but I'd rather have a recording directly in a thread), can you tell me what is the role of proxy of the ISA authentication? And how it works.

    Normally proxy authentication (auth-proxy on the router and passage of a proxy in the firewalls) are transparent to other devices in the network on the network.

  • Deploy a web service on an old database proxy

    I'm studying on different approaches to call an external web service of PL/SQL and I came across this document pretty old how-to:

    Call a Web Service from the database

    The document explains how to create a proxy web service in Java with JDeveloper and how to deploy it in a database.

    The sample service is relatively simple. The service that I have to call exposes several methods that returns and requires complex objects as parameters, but I found more tips in the next song in the Oracle documentation:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B19306_01/Java.102/b14187/chsix.htm#BABBEAJI

    So I downloaded and installed the latest JDeveloper and I get a service proxy web work at a glance. When I tried to deploy to my old database (Oracle 10.0.2.5 running Java 1.4) I've got the errors listed in the attached paper (sorry for the names of class in Italian).

    As indicated in the last line, it seems that I have some kind of compatibility issue between the version of Java that I used to generate the proxy and that which is available on my server. If, as suggested, change the JDK 1.7 to 1.4 version, I get an error saying something like "you have used data annotation, but this feature is available from Java 1.5".

    Is there a way to force JDeveloper to generate a web service proxy ' 1.4 friendly '?

    With the provided link, I was able to get all the missing pieces of the software.

    Now I just need to convince our DBA to try this approach

    However, it is a different story
