• PSE8 Organizer with PSE9 Editor

  I agree with your point of view on PSE 8 Organizer. I'd also rather for the same reason. My job is to have 2 monitors. I keep PSE8 Organizer on the left and editor-in-Chief of PSE9 on the right. Then I drag around. My catalog paths and parameters in the two organizers is the same. PSE9 edited items will appear in 8... Make sure your "watched folders" settings are defined, and then the same in the two organizers. Its a little awkward... but it works for... but me, I'm just a new type of PES.

  As far as I can see it just is not possible to obtain PSE8 Organizer to recognize the PSE9 Editor as an alternative Editor, changing the names of .exe files to attempt to deceive the it or full.

  I can disable the editor PSE8, download PSE8 Organizer file in the PSE9 Editor, edit, save, (or save as), but it will not appear in the PSE8 oganizer unless I import it manually.

  Yes, it can be done. That's how I did it.

  Copy the editor of PSE application to another folder such as My Documents.

  Rename the file - I called mine PhotoEditing

  Then replace the file in the folder of Photoshop Elements 9

  I have a client who use PSE8 Organizer and all of a sudden he stopped to read the map support automatically. My client believes that this happened after an update of Adobe Updater.

  They say he used a simple process to place the card in the card reader and then a pop up window would be where they would select the icon / program to PSE8, but the icon was gone, and when you click on this link, my client has been presented with a message saying the link was broken. I have advised my client to uninstall the program and then to reinstall, which corrected this problem i.e. the icon and the back, and when you click on the link there is no message.

  However, it is that it will, the link produces no result and the media card is not read.

  If my client accesses the card as a file via PSE8 Organizer then images are displayed, but even once, are not automatically loaded into the application.

  My customer really want restored auto.

  If someone has had this problem and knows how to solve it please?

  The computer is running Windows XP 32-bit SP3.

  The only quirk I see is that the application is installed on the external hard drive instead of the hard drive internal normal. Would this cause problems with the application?

  Make sure that you select Organizer PSE and not PES Editor.

  It may be necessary to click Browse in order to select the right application.

• How to refresh the tags in PSE8 Organizer

  I have 2 friends Bill and Sandra (keyword tags), they belong to the same sub-group "Friends."

  Now, when I'm looking for PSE8 Organizer Sandra e.g. by check the checkbox for 'Sandra '. Photos much more only Sandra appear the result set. For me this make no sense at all.  BUT on the other hand, if I create a subcategory of "Sandra" and tag the pictuters even with that, then I have no problem. Only pictures of Sandra (as a subcategory) tagged will be present in the result set.

  Since your labeled image "Sandra" is part of a battery, when you search for 'Sandra', PSE 8 shows the full stack. For these photos, where 'Sandra' is not labeled, PSE 8 shows red icon at the top left of the image to indicate no match.  This is also true for games version as well.

  Had your images is not part of the stack, PSE 8 would have shown you only photos marked "Sandra."

• Problems opening PSE8 Organizer

  I have problems to open the Organizer in PSE 8 on Windows XP. Organizer starts loading and displays thumbnails of saved images (not much at the moment) after that 12-18secs calling the program crashes. If the editor is open or not makes no difference. The trial version seemed to work ok. My current version is loaded from a disk. The Editor seems to work ok for the domains that I've used so far. Any ideas?

  Even the folder with the name you mentioned doesn't work for me. You can try one thing it of say in the GET media from the files and folder dialog box, select the file type as "All Files" in the menu drop down to the bottom of the list and see if you are able to see all of the folders.

  The toolbar is missing. There's this little tiny box and when I put the mouse over it it will show all the menus for example, the Edit file find. Anyone now how to bring return as usual in the upper part. I am running Windows7 and the newer IE.

  I spent several hours trying to convert my PSE8 PSE14 database. I followed the recommendations I've seen in the forums and with psedbtools:

  1. Reconnect all the files missing and optimized (in PSE8)

  Forgive me if I ask a stupid question, but have you checked the preferences in version 8 - I think you could switch between the display of all records or only the selected one.

  Using PSE8.  I loaded photos from a source outside and placed in a folder in my pictures.  These will not appear in PSE8 Organizer.  How can I find and include ONLY images not ALREADY in the Organizer?

  Select my images and press Ctrl + A with all the sub folders and click on get the media.

• PSE8: Photo Rotation is not saved in the original file

  I encountered a strange problem (for me). Whenever I flip a photo in PSE8 organizer that sits on my NAS, saving the image rotated to the local folder (that you can set in the Preferences dialog box). It's really annoying. I can drag the image (or the battery full) in the original file on the NAS in PSE8. So it shouldn't be a problem of right of access.  Is there a solution for this strange behavior? When I rotate an image in a folder on the local hard disk, the rotated image remains in the original folder.  Thank you very much!

  It's disappointing to hear that this problem was not fully corrected in PSE 8.  See this thread for someone of another experience with what might trigger the problem:

  Beware that if you set the volume-table entries, the bug could still happen again.

  1. make a backup copy of your catalog file catalog.pse8db.  Help > System Info in the Organizer to find his folder.

  2. run SQLite Database Browser and open catalog.pse8db.

  3. on the data of the browser tab, select the volume_table table.

  4. look for the line with id 1495 - that is the entry in double table volume that contains the 47 files.  Delete this folder.

  5. replace the table media_table.

  6. in the tab Execute SQL, run the following query:

  Update media_table

  Set volume_id = 11179 where id_volume = 1495

  7. exit the program.

  8 run psedbtool again and verify there is only one volume for your network drive table entry, and that there are 13609 + 47 = 13656 files it contains.

  9. start PES and file > reconnect > all missing and check there is no missing file.
