PSU Patching CARS over 2 nights, is it ok?

Hello

We are running 11.2.0.4, node 3 CARS with a physical standby.

Due to the length of our maintenance window, we want to apply the 11.2.0.4.5 psu patch for the eve and node 1, the first night.

Then apply the node2 and node3 PSU and run catbundle.sql the second night.

He will be allowed to run the rac instances and the sleep like that for a day, until we have all the things the second night?

Thank you

I was able to get this done successfully.

I fixed the day before and node 1 the first night (as always my window now allowed)

A ran the cluster and sleep overnight, then this night patched nodes 2 and 3 and ran catbundle.

Everything went well.

  • Question about PSU patch when IM and DB are different version

    Hello world

I have some doubts when it comes to the application of patches to the PSU, when the House of GI and DB House are different versions.

I have 2 node RAC on RHEL 5 cluster.
My home grid Infrastructure is running version 11.2.0.3 while my 11.2.0.2 RDBMS RAC is.

I know that the PSU of grid Infrastructure also includes the power supply of the database and that it should be applied in two homes the same version.
When patching my RDBMS RAC at home (11.2.0.2); should I install the PSU IM for 11.2.0.2 or only the part of the RAC database?

    For example:
installation 11.2.0.2.6 PSU which consists of 13696242 (game of Grid infrastructure update fixes) and 13696224 (database updated Patch to update).
Should I ignore the 13696242 and just install 13696224? Or do I have to install both.

    Thank you.

  • Grid control agent 11.1.0.1.0 / WHO 11.1.0.1.0 PSU patch

    Hello

I'm looking to patch SGD 11.1.0.1.0 to 11.1.0.1.4, im however slightly confused about the weather it is patches available for GC officers POWER supply - I don't seem to be able to find something on MOS.

Am I right to think that there are no patches PSU for 11.1.0.1.0 of Agents still?

    Thank you

The deployment of the agent remains the same. You could create a clone of your 11.1.0.1.4 agent again host facilities or continue to patch manually agents to supply FOOD 4 after you have deployed it (I prefer the pull method). In 10.2.0.5, we did a lot of cloning, now that we're done with 11.1 upgrades, it's time for the establishment of a 11.1.0.1.4 clone.

  • PSU Patch 11.2.0.2.9

    Hi all

I was in charge of the application of the power supply (14727315) fix to our 11.2.0.2.5 system that will bring the oracle home to 11.2.0.2.9. We organize unique instances with no ASM.
The test server I need to apply this patch has 8 instances running just off the coast of the same oracle home. One of the other DBA here told me that I can apply this hotfix on the server without having to stop anything, so the plan is / was to apply the software patch to the oracle home and then bounce each of the databases in turn when we have time to the QA team is to run the catbundle.sql.
But I feel that he's wrong and that's why I'm confused.
Read me doc that has accompanied the patch States that "If this isn't a CCR environment, close all instances and listeners associated with the Oracle home you update." So take that into account, I need to stop time of the quality assurance team on all instances that use the oracle home is not possible to only apply the software and then bounce back each instance in turn.
Have I reason to what I'm saying?

    Kind regards

PSU patches are always cumulative. This latest patch will have sets of old patches

Power supply will be published quarterly (January, April, July, October) mid

  • Sum over time

    Hello

I'm doing something that I think is quite a common request, but after scratching my head and browsing the web I am still not close to a solution.

    I am running:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi

I'm looking to summarize a set of values, taking into account the two parent grouping and start and end dates.
I use for the parent of grouping:

+ Sum ([value]) over (Partition by order [Parent] [parent], [Child]) +.

I was hoping to expand that AMOUNT to manage also the start and end dates, so the end result would contain a sum of the values for each different period of time.

For example, using the data below I try to sum up the prices of the components of a car over time:

line, product, component, rate, start date, end date
    1, car, chassis, 180, 01/01/2000, 31/12/2009
    2, car, chassis, 200, 01/01/2010, 01/01/2050
    3, car, engine, 100, 01/01/2000, 01/01/2050

Notice that there is a price for "Chassis" of item change, so the output, I'm looking for is:

line, product, component, rate, start date, end date, sum
    1, car, chassis, 180, 280 01/01/2000, 31/12/2009,
    2, car, engine, 100, 280 01/01/2000, 31/12/2009,
    3, car, chassis, 200, 01/01/2010, 01/01/2050, 300
    4, car, engine, 100, 01/01/2010, 01/01/2050, 300

But in reality, everything I need is:

Row, product, start date, end date, sum
    1, car, 01/01/2000, 31/12/2009, 280
    2, cars, 01/01/2010, 01/01/2050, 300

Preference the query would be a view instead of a stored procedure, and he must be able to manage many 'products', 'components' and start and end dates.

All help most appreciated and if need more info, please let me know.

    Thank you
    Julian

    Hi, Julian,.

    I think I understand.
You want to use the lump SUM, not the analytical SUM. The analytical function you would give a total for the entire product, but would keep the individual lines for each component. But you don't want individual lines for each component; you want to just one line for each product and the period. The tricky thing with this problem is to set a period. In the following query, a new period for a given product begins when there is a start_date or an end_date for this product, which is calculated in the sub_query called periods.

The following subquery, active_ratews, see what rate applied during this period, seeing the lines in product_rates overlap with the lines in periods. Two overlap if everyone will start before the other ends. If it's not obvious to you (and it is of course obvious to me when I heard it), then look at it this way: two ranges are not overlapping if (and only if) one end before another begins.

The result of the ios active_rates close enough of what you posted as intermediate results. The main request that added all the lines for the same product and timely.

    WITH period_start_points AS
    (
         SELECT product
         , start_date
         FROM product_rates
        UNION
            SELECT product
         , end_date + 1 AS start_date

  • Weblog server license and 11.2 grid SGD psu?

    Hi all

I had two questions (I have already tried searching in documents oracle and metalink notes, but he found nothing on it). The first thing, looks like oracle 11g OEM Grid requires a Weblogic Server. Which is fine, but wanted to know I have to pay extra for that or it belongs Oracle 11g grid OEM diagnostic pack licenses? If so, I was looking for an official response (doc or doc oracle metalink)

Also another thing I was curious was SGD? SGC is only 11.1.0.1.0 version or can it be upgraded to oracle 11 g 2? Below link, all I see is 11.1.0.1.0 software.

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/OEM/grid-control/downloads/index.html

The thing that confused me was this link below. As in the doc below, it is said to apply patch 10270073 to SGD House (psu patch). So I was wondering, after applying the fix of the PSU. Is WHO is going to be to 11.2.0.2.1?

    Patch 10270073

Once more, not to be confused by these output numbers.

11.1 GC OEM is the correct version fully control and administer the RDBMS Oracle 11 GR 2.

I'm sure there will be a version 11 GR 2 OEM GC
