  "Always looks like a problem of path for me. For review:

  Path problems

  Almost always, when it works on the local computer and not by the server, it's a path problem.
  You can put your related Flash files into whatever the desired files, they don't have to be at the root, they are NOT all in the same folder. But if you have a problem and their stick it all in the works of root folder, and then, you know that the question was a path problem.
  Remember that used paths in the .swf is compared to the Web page on which is placed the .swf, NOT it's physical location.  Thus, for example, that if your .swf is located in the flash/data folder and you use .swf on a Web page in the root folder, you are in effect, remove this data/flash .swf and put them in the root. So if the .swf is responsible for all associated files (xml, images, video, etc.), the path used inside the .swf to load the .xml file must be compared to its new location in the root and then go back to flash/data. This is true even if when you test the .swf by itself, it can be inside the flash/data and work very well, as compared to its location, the path is very good, they are in the same folder. But if this same path is used when the .swf is placed on a folder page level two upward, the relative path has changed, the old "same folder" path will not work.

  In fact if you place the .swf on a web page in a different folder as the .swf is stored in, and that .swf called foreign assets, then heading by clicking on and open the .swf in his file should NOT work! This is because the paths to the external assets must be relative to the Web page and not the physical location of the .swf.
  So just remember that you use an address from the last Web page (file not physical locations) and you can put related Flash files in folders what ever you want.

  If it works on the server but not on the spot, may be a local computer security problem. Sometimes there are problems of security on the local computer during the trial of all the Flash files that include any code that tries to establish an Internet connection, (even if it's to get the logo .gif Adobe used in the code "Download the latest version here").

  But first of all, is it a problem or issue of DreamWeaver or a browser problem/questions? I mean when you "Preview", is that actaully in a browser?... so it does not appear in Web browsers you are testing in but don't see in DW?

  So I can't exactly tell what your particular problem, but my guess is that this is a security issue or there is something else that you missed and did not mention that is causing problems.

• Subtitles not visible in the published swf file

  I am to evaluate Captivate 4 and have used the trial version to create demos of software.  I added audio using excellent text to speech and you have checked the "Closed Caption" option when adding my text be read to each slide.

  By right clicking on the audio product, I ticked the option "captioning." "and there is indeed a legend associated with the audio text.

  My problem is that when the project is published in a SWF file, I can't find a way to activate the closed captioning?  I see that some of the demos on the Adobe homepage have a 'CC' button that can be used to enable / disable captions.  My output file has no control... y at - it a switch I need to put somewhere make closed captions visible?

  You can go to the menu item project > Skin Editor.

  Open the skin Editor dialog box. Please check the checkbox "closed captioning".

  Now when you preview / publish, you should get a 'Cc' button in the playback bar.

• Another. Published SWF file?

  Hi all. I just found another file that was created when I released my PAC 3 file to the SWF format. I'm used to seeing the project.swf, the project_skin.swf, the project.htm and all created standard.js files. I tried the question pool feature and discovered a fifth file has been created: questionpoolname_CQP.swf. I can't find information about this file anywhere. But, I guess it's related to the question pool. If I delete it, I get no questions asked random question pool screens - just gray their whereabouts. Anyone know about this issue and where I can find any information about it? It is not in the help file, or the knowledge base or Support Adobe in the User Guide, nor anywhere else I can find.

  You are right. This file is the pool of the question which has been generated by the project. This file is published as a separate SWF in order to facilitate the authors to
  (1) change the pool question independent of the project
  (2) re - use the same pool of question in several projects

  I checked the documentation also and this information seems to have been missed. Thank you for this comment. Let's put documents in support on this asap.

  I created a flash (my project) file that is loaded into another swf (our player) file on our site. When I test the project file on my computer displays correct score at the end of the lab.   Since you have problems with more than one file with this player, there is something about to place the file in another changing the environment that it is in operation.  Just as one example, if you happen to use references of the scene in your code, which could be a source of the proiblem when you load the file in another file, since there is only a single scene... one defined in the player file

• SWF file shows is not in the browser

  I inserted a SWF in a Web page in dreamweaver CS5, which must have a transparent background.

  I did all the necessary things in flash and the value of the "wmode", "transparent" in the settings section in DW.

  This is where the problem arises. He appears with an opaque backbround, but when I change to transparent it disappears completely.

  Looks like your swfobject embed method does not work correctly. Turn off swfobject and test again without him.

I spent £160 on a TV + Stor.e and did have some problems with it, as you can see from the few posts that I raised. Both in preview and publish, frames if auto break in the middle (it variable and sometimes medium, sometimes towards the end) of the duration of the slide. There is no unused objects in your library, verified also. What exactly is your version number? I wonder if this file was not getting damaged, or was it because of the way in which you "shrunk" it by deleting files. Can't really explain what happened. You have the backup file? It has the same dimensions?

• Display next button after the SWF file embedded is over

  I have a SWF file (AS3) I'm embedding in Captivate 7.

  I have the commands in the file SWF Captivate a pause until the SWF is done playing, then he will resume the Captivate slide at the end of the embedded SWF file.

  I would like to be able to trigger the 'Next' button on the blade so that it appears when the SWF file is finished.  I've included a variable 'videoDone' on the blade and the SWF successfully assigns to the variable '1' when it is complete.

  So far so good, where I'm having a problem is makes the following button.

  Is it possible for me to tell Captivate to show the button next to the SWF embedded? Or is there a way I can add a listener for the Captivate slide as well as when the variable "videoDone = 1" it will show the next button?

  I managed to solve the problem by having 2 following buttons

  #1 on show/hide slide entry based on the 'videoDone' user variable
  #2 placed lower in the timeline panel and looks after the SWF file finishes.

• Preloader which modifies the external SWF files every 5 seconds

  I made a web banner in flash that loads an external swf and another external swf changes after 5 seconds. The banner have a preloader, but the problem becomes when you load the first time. As sovereign wealth funds are not cached in the cache of the browser and yet, time 5 seconds start counting from the preloader, and when the external swf file, shows only 1 second rest and it is replaced by another. There is a way to 'freeze' the time for each external swf until it loads completely?

• don't play only in the preview of captivate project SWF files

  I tried to import a file .swf product of Camtasia 6.0 in a captivate project 3.0, after doing so when I'm in any .cp with files .swf in them and I try to get an overview of the project files .swf will not play. All the files published .exe will play, as do the .swf files displayed individually simply not to Captivate. Any ideas?

  I found the answer - I had upgraded to Flash 10 and it is not compatible with Captivate 3. I uninstalled Flash 10 and installed Flash 9 and now I can listen to extracts projects which have files .swf in them.
