Publisher 2002

As I opened a document Publisher 2002, I went to open the under "safe mode". Some documents open but most important I really need not. They declare a notice stating that "Publisher 2002 stopped working properly, support being expanded.

I should upgrade to 2007?

Are there any free updates for 2002 that will allow me to find the files?

I don't have the disc with me that we are moving, and I have the original disc and the product # stored somewhere?

Thank you

  • Microsoft Office XP Pro 2002

I bought a new Aspire V5, which comes with Windows 8.  For a long time, I bought the full version of Office XP Pro w/Publisher 2002 and I was able to load it on my computer since then.   This laptop lacks a CD player.  Is there a place I can go to download, using the number of product key on the original jacket?   Or I have to buy the new version of Office again?

    Thank you!

As suggested, simply go to a computer with a CD player or DVD work and copy the contents of the Office XP disk in a folder, then copy the folder on a USB key.

Please note, you may meet some compatibility issues with Office XP on Windows 8, I think that Outlook 2002 does not save passwords.

Also, there are probably compatibility issues during installation. Try to install in compatibility mode:

    http://techingiteasy.WordPress.com/2013/07/08/using-compatibility-mode-in-Windows-8-1/

Also don't forget to install the latest Service Pack available for Office XP:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=23334

Please keep in mind, Office XP is quite old and it puts it in a position where it can be easily exploited by vulnerabilities in the suite.

It is recommended that upgrade you to a modern version of office or you can search by using the free version of Microsoft Office, called Office Online, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote web-based versions. Of course there is no free access or Microsoft Publisher version, if you need them. Sway is the future of Microsoft Publisher.

  • OfficeJet 6500 E710n-z: How can I change the printable area

I use a printer OfficeJet 6500 E710n-z.  In the past, with Microsoft Office 2007 and Publisher 2002 on a Windows Vista operating system, I was able to print publications with a margin of page of 0.125 "around all sides.

I recently bought a new laptop running Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and upgraded to Microsoft Office & Publisher 2013.  Now my printable area is (landscape)-left margin: 0,587 "for a total width of 9,827".  The top margin remains the same, to 0.125 "for a total height of 8.25".

I don't think I made any changes to the printer settings.  How to restore the printable region so that it has a margin of 0.125 "around the page?

    Hello @RonJRu,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! " I see that you want to change your margins toward 0,125", since you upgraded to 8.1 of Windows and Microsoft Office & 2013 the printable region Editor is (landscape) - left margin: 0,587 "for a total width of 9.827 and the top margin is correct.

When you upgraded to Windows 8.1, you would update the software and drivers for the printer as well?

I love this program and want to continue using it. I upgraded my old computer from 98 to XP, and it ran very well! I had to get a new computer and'm running XP Professional. The program loaded fine but whenever I try to put in place a project or just image, it stops working! Have found several articles on the downloadint files to fix (PI19299.exe, as well as the Ko scid EN US 316861). Tried to download the two and apparently neither one is now available. Please help me. I can't find other programs that will allow me to do what PIcture It will make! Can't believe there is no way to fix it. Why in the world MS would not continue to let people to run this program? Very frustrating!

  • What replaced software Microsoft Picture It! Publishing home 2002?

I have Microsoft Picture It! publishing on my old computer and I loved it.  It was easy to use and I could do so many creative things about it.  When I got a new computer (my husband bought me the HP Media Center, I think that's what it was) I tried the photo more recent editing program that came with it, but do not like it so I loaded Picture It! on this computer.  It was not totally compatible, but I never got it to work... sometimes.  Now I have a new PC and it is not compatible at all.

I have yet to find a software photo editing with the possibility of making flyers, invitations, etc. with the ease of use I got with photo!  I used a version of PhotoSuite years that I liked, but then they went and 'improved' that too.
What is a good and simple to use the software for the home edition that would be comparable to Microsoft Picture It! Publishing House?

Have you seen this post and read it (its quite long) - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/microsoft-picture-it-incompatability-with-windows/b761119e-f826-4794-8c9b-6610b3658832?page=1&tm=1344076643856 began in December 2009 and its still ongoing! I think its safe to say, you're not alone.

Anyway, here are a few "adjustments" that some claim gets IP running on W7 (I did not try) including things like trying to install W98 compatibility modeand then run in W98 compatibility and perhaps also as administrator mode. Good reading, it can be useful.

It depends on what you want to do, but there are tools free Photo who can do some or all of your requirements, things like Paint.net, Picasa or GIMP (and I don't know there are others) but I don't know how compatible they are with EPS files.

As always, AV scan all download before installing.

  • Impossible to download Vista SP2, "Unknown Publisher".

I have Vista SP1. Could someone help me please? I've been struggling with my phone for 3 weeks now. I restored to factory settings and the first thing tried to manually download SP2 from the Microsoft site. At the end of the download, I get this message:
"The file has been blocked because it doesn't have a valid digital signature." Unknown Publisher
If I save it, and then try to open it by 'Run as administrator', I find myself with ' Data is not valid.
Before you try to download it I updated Windows updates "check updates but let me choose whether to download and install them." There are 1 account, I am the administrator and there is no password set.

Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

HOW to do a clean install of Vista: section "If you want to reinstall Windows Vista by running a new installation...". "of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista#section_3

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or a local network (i.e. other computers) and before using a USB or SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formattedotherwise:

NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the trial for free and download/run the removal tool before installing updates, Windows Service Packs, or updates IE and before installing your new anti-virus application.

    McAfee Consumer product removal tool
         http://download.McAfee.com/Products/Licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

NB: There are updates prerequisite that MUST be installed before you can install the SP2 (or SP1). I wouldn't recommend trying to install Vista Service Pack, unless and until it is offered by Windows Update.

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

    Good luck!

  • I can't publish a file using Windows Movie Maker despite after every single step and instruction

I use Windows Movie Maker c. 5.1. (Build 2600) on a computer running Windows XP Professional 2002, SP 3. I try to publish a movie file which is a revised version of a WMV file. In other words, the original file is a file WMV is 534 MB.  I am editing the film by dividing and by deleting scenes, adding transitions and titles.  I am able to save the file (for a WMM file) but impossible to publish the movie.  I checked that (i) the files are in the correct location, (ii) the file does not exceed the limit of 4 GB, (iii) the destination does not exist (I tried everything from my desktop to video files).  I tried every possible resolution and the file type.

I would change the software of movie at this point if I had not invested so much energy and time behind this project.  Help, please!

    Hello not happy with WMM,

You get an error message when you try to publish?  If so, what is it?

One thing you might try is breaking your video into 3 or 4 smaller sections and see if they work / will be published separately.

    See you soon
