• Impossible to reinstall Vista 'Red' full ultimate upgrade after having to perform a restore.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P505D with Vista Home Premium pre-installed and previously implemented to upgrade to Vista 'Red' Ultimate bought authorized MS media and key. I also have the valid Windows 7 Home premium upgrade media and key, as was offered at the time of the purchase of the laptop, but not yet installed.

  I just had to perform a complete restoration of the original Toshiba media (Vista - Home Premium), but after the restoration by using the option 'online' to 'receive all updates of course MS', I tried to reinstall my Vista Ultimate ' Red' update, but I could not upgrade "in line to receive available updates" and was invited that "no other support is available for the Vista SP1 that I» do a clean install"which, once carried out, wiped out the mfg provided o/s and S/W and made my lap top"seeks", an operating system.   The upgrade of Windows 7 I had received, upgraded my Vista - Home premium 7 - Home Premium. I bought Vista Ultimate "Red" upgrade before treating the offer to upgrade to Windows 7 and now cannot use or get help for him apparently.   1. your ultimate Vista package should improve your current OS without much in the way of a problem.  The patch SP2 should not prevent the update as far as I KNOW (I know).  I guess it's possible that it may be (* the DVD) versions prior to SP2 and therefore could doesn't recognize not the operating system installed as something it can be upgraded.  Is there anything that is engraved on the DVD itself that tells you if it includes SP1 or SP2?

  What happens when you put in the DVD and it Autostarts or you choose to run the installation, and then choose update?  What is the specific message or the reason for the failure?  (To be exact with the message.)

  2. you can proceed directly to Windows 7 Ultimate from where you are now.  This web page outlines the valid paths and as you can see, Windows Vista Home Premium, you can either go Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

  What are the differences between the versions?  This web page shows some of the basics.  This comparative table goes in the finer details.

  Basically, however, you need not go through another version of Windows Vista to Windows 7 (two versions mentioned in any case) nor would gain you something by doing this.

  As the manufacturer of the system with a Windows 7 upgrade path themselves - they need to support this system with Windows 7 installed on it - which is a good thing for you.  You may want to visit the support from the manufacturer of such and downloads section now to make sure they have drivers of hardware devices for all the hardware in your system to Windows 7 – just a precautionary measure.  Also - make sure that any software that you have installed on your own is Windows 7 compatible and all peripherals you have set (or sometimes attach) to the system.

  I don t think you need to update the firmware.
  I recommend using a compatible support and supported!

  In the user manual, you will find a list of supported CD and DVD!

  Also try to burn the CD or DVD with extra like Nero burning software.
  Nero supports an option to test the drive. He learned the best speed and control the burning procedure to get performance better combustion.

  First of all, it would be desirable to create Toshiba Recovery DVD before you install or remove anything from the HARD drive.
  The recovery DVDs is a hot spare that could be useful to restore the laptop to factory settings.
  This means that if you want to retrieve the Vista on your laptop, you should only use the recovery disc then the whole package Vista with Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software would be back on the HARD drive.

  Secondly it s not wrong to install Win XP on the C partition. I mean you can install Win XP on different partitions, but if you want to replace Vista with XP you could install XP on partition C too.

  I don't know if XP drivers are available for this series from Mr. phone what series is this exactly? Check the bottom of the unit. On the label, you should find a few model numbers

  I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 Series (2008 model) cell, which was originally Vista but I installed Windows 7 Professional on this topic. I would now like to go back to Vista.

  I noticed that the "Windows.old" folder created on the c: / drive appears to be missing a lot of files and could have been modified since the date of that its creation. I think it would be too risky to use it to recover back to Vista.

  So my question is can I use my original Toshiba Recovery DVD set to return to Vista? I want to do a full factory reset to restore my system when it was purchased with Vista.

  If the recovery DVDs is not an option and was the only is by using the Windows.old folder, if it is missing important files so she could leave my corrupt system? I don't know there is a way to get back to Vista by restoring factory somehow.

  What will happen if I install my own OEM Vista version that I had already installed and registered w/MS on an old Compaq laptop but is no longer use this laptop and to install the version of Vista OEM on an old HP dv8000 has Win XP on it... thing is, barely, I used my version of Vista and this old Compaq because shortly after I put all that registered with MS, the LCD screen is kaput and I took the thing out, and so it is since that way... not working... I lost all that money on the purchase of Vista and never really used a lot. So, what I'm wondering is MS will allow me to activate my Vista OEM version if I install it on the dv8000 with same serial number supplied with the pkg? do I need to call? They let me use the same serial number or is it possible that because I OWN it, they just issue a new product key that so I can install and save Vista on the dv8000? and what is the phone number for the activation of MS service? I should maybe just call and talk to them and I hope that I can reuse my version?

  I have a 32-bit version of Windows Vista and I just wonderd of time I can get a downloadable Version of Windows Vista 64-bit instead of 32 bit. It's just another question and I do not have the answer but I would like to beable to download on my PC.

  And before someone says anything my PC is capable of running a 64-bit Windows, because when I installed 32-bit Windows 8 Pre-Release... But I did not know that the differences between the two so far (so I downloaded and installed the 64-bit version).
