Purchased Pro 10 Windows Update problems

So, I bought a PC tower that was told to me to renovate.

I go home and buy windows pro update 10 and now, it would not because it says windows 7 ultimate it came with isn't genuine.

What is my next step possible to get around this?

Partially my fault for being cheap smh

If you purchased Windows 10 Pro, this is a full version, so it shouldn't matter if its true or not.

Try to download the ISO, and then perform a new installation:

  • Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working. Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.

Original title: Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working.

I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed, after the time of my last updated 31/7, my windows update has stopped working, and no so Windows defender and firewall.  Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.  Update Windows to 7.31 was an update of the Defender, however, windows update will not give me the option to uninstall this update because the Defender has completely disappeared from the prompt that allows you to choose which puts up-to-date to uninstall. Is it possible to manually remove somewhere else?

I ran SFC/scannow and I WAB32res.dll has been altered, so I copied the file on my windows 7 CD for 64 Professional (from program files/common files) and copied and replace my program.files/common files one.  I restarted the SFC and the same error occurred.  I had 5 errors like this:

2012-08-03 19:15:59, 000002fb CSI Info [SR] cannot repair the military record [l:24 {12}] "wab32res.dll" Microsoft-Windows-WAB-Core, Version 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 = (9), the Culture neutral, VersionScope is 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, type neutral, TypeName neutral, neutral to the public key in the store, hash mismatch. "

I also ran Microsoft Safety Scanner Scanner, he finds 16 errors and fixed them (I saved the names), but even after I reset the computer my Windows Update/Defender/firewall STILL does not work!

Anyone have any ideas? Especially how to fix 'wab32res.dll"maybe that I recorded it in the wrong place?

I noticed there is one in each 'program folder' folder (program files x 86 and regular for 64 bit).  Is also wab32res.dll somewhere in system32?

    Thank you!

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Windows Update problem - ' check for updates ' does not

    system: Dell XPS1530, 2.1 GHZ, 4 GB RAM Core2duo, Win7 Pro

    Internet connectivity: DSL (0, 5-1 MB/s)

No error message using Windows Update - 'Check updates' the animation moves, but nothing was reported (even after being a masochist and leave the 'thing' for 45 minutes).  Perhaps a successful malware I could download and install fine updates back on November 20, 15.  Online connection works (for example, able to download updates ~ 115 kb/s to my mail client, etc.).  The MS Fix - It tool runs, but also crashes when "checking for updates".

Thanks for something useful that you can specify.

  • Error notification of 'not connected' in taskbar & Windows Update problem

Under Windows 64 Pro System i5 Intel, discovered the RocketTab advertising program and removed with Spybot.  Next day when I started the system the internet icon in the task bar said "not connected - no available connection", also only shows 'unknown' network connections active in the centre network and sharing, but browser and more program online function still works.  But when I tried to start the Windows Update program, it wouldn't start.  Downloaded Windows Update repair program, it corrects an error in registry but said that he could not fix the program starts.

I have read several questions on this site that looked and tried a start-up manual of the SSTPS, but received the error 998, also receive the "error 1068: the dependency service could not start and failed to start the Remote Access Connection Manager Service", when you try to manually start the program RACMS.

Check all services "Remote Access Connection Manager": the following results

    i. Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service - error 998 does not start

    II. telephone - running

III. Plug n Play - running

IV. Remote Procedure Call (RPC) - running

    v. DCOM - running server process Launcher

VI RPC end point mapper. -during the execution

Ran Windows System File Checker and repaired some registry files but could not repair

    "webio.dll"

    folder Windows\System32

If this file is incorrectly routing memory of pagination for the SSTPS at startup and causes the 998 error that stops the remote access connection manager service to start and gives me startup problems with Windows Update Service (and a few other programs that use the same Protocol)

If it is then I know that I can replace manually, but I don't want any changes manually in the registry if there is a better solution.

Thanks in advance for any help I get.

Hello, thanks for the response, it is a stand-alone workstation, no programs have been installed, but looking from the log files, there is a block of HARD drive error which was autocorrected day before it took place.

So I just manually replaced the "webio.dll" file in the folder window\system32\ on the installation CD and he corrected two errors.

I tried to find help for Windows support, but there is a statement, that if windows is installed in the laptop before buying it, I should consult the producer of the computer.

    Hello

I found this info on the 800706BE error:
+ Error 800706BA is a standard Windows error with many causes. It more often refers to Microsoft COM Internet Services (CIS) on the call of client DCOM Distributed Component Object Model (RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE); the RPC server is unavailable (Windows Event ID) 1722. That's when a RPC request expires and 800706BA error results. +

    Hi @Johnymac,

    Thank you for your response.

What is your specific model of HP Compaq laptop?

There is a link in my previous post to help you find this information.

If you have a firewall (firewall of Windows example) make sure that Windows update is on the white list. You can also try disabling the firewall and retry the Windows Update to see if that helps.  If it do not forget to reactivate it later.
