    Hello

I am having several problems with my VMWare ESXi 5.5 server.

My server is a Dell PowerEdge T320 with RAID 1 (2 disc 1 to) contains 3 Virtual Machines (2 x Windows Server 2012 Standard and Windows SBS 2011).

    Server:

    Model: Dell PowerEdge T320

Processor: Intel Xeon 1.90 E5-2450 MHz CPU

    Memory: 32 GB of memory

The host runs sometimes for several hours or 30 minutes to receive the purple diagnostic screen: PF 14 of Exception in the 335026 world.

I tried everything, I've updated the BIOS, iDRAC, BIOS configured as shown in the technical and the problem persists.

The server has 1 month and does contain any sort of material error.

I'm desperate, already studied various forums without success and carried out various procedures without success as well.

    Can you help me? Anyone?

  • ESXI 5.1.0 purple screen with openwrt

    Hello

Very annoying problem. I run an instance openwrt and after a few reboots of the ESXI 5.1.0 shows purple core dump on the console screen.

I have a G7 HP Proliant DL 360 with the latest firmware update from HP. Also installed the latest drivers from HP. It must be fully supported

but no cigar.  I have not encountered this problem with ESXI 5.0.0. Anyway around this problem? What type of logging you need me to look at

    in this?

    Best regards K Bryan

Well... Normally, this isn't for your build... But the purple screen you have looks remarkably similar to this:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=2038767&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&dialogID=547930176&StateID=1%200%20547936335

Your ESXi comes it up/stay up at all or is this completely down? ... If you have access, you could test with this setting... But as I said, normally if your version is higher than that it should be resolved.

  • Purple screen United immediately after ESXi 5 loading bar when starting the installation disc.

I have a client that is running ESX 4.0 on a compatible with ESXi 5 host.  When I went to upgrade the host to ESXi 5 I ran into a problem, I have never seen elsewhere.  I started on the disk and screen with the status bar at the top is fine.  Immediately after loading, before showing always the yellow background or license agreement, he throws a Uni purple screen and without words.  If you leave it for about 20 seconds, then the screen goes black with gray blocks randomly everywhere.  I tried with another download and CD but I get the same results.  I couldn't find anything on purple screens without the current text.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you check if the version of the BIOS of the host must be updated in order to run ESXi 5.0?

    Hello

I get a purple screen after starting the esxi host 4. I get the following exception: exception (14) in the xxxx world pf

I tried the esxi version 4 with update 1 and without. both had the same problem...

The server is a "new" hp proliant dl120g6...

Does anyone have an idea to solve this problem?

    Hello

    Welcome to

Everything seems to point to the sfcbd process (CIM providers). But it is a hypothesis. All this :).

Running a version of esxi HP custom computers no HP support can produce weird effects. For this reason, it is highly public using this type of installation.

I'm not really an alternative for what you want. To monitor (in a tight way) on esxi, you must use a supported HP computer. If this isn't the case, you must use a version of esxi vanilla without waterproof hardware monitoring.

Please, remember to mark a useful or appropriate response.

    Best wishes / Saludos.

  • ESXi 3.5 purple screens / plant

I have an esxi 3.5, that keeps "purple screening" / accidents. The server runs only one virtual machine and the 'collision model' is: server runs for a few days and then crashes

The material is a HP proliant box.

This has happened both 3.5 U2 and U3 3.5 (with all the latest patched/upgraded).

Patterns of errors in the paper (attached) does not correspond to those indicated in KB: 1008130 (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1008130( )

Well, you might want to change the memory on the system. Or at least run Memtest. HP also has a bootable CD of diagnosis that you could run against the system.

  • Purple screen on HOST with Esxi 5.5

    Good afternoon

I'm upgrading from 5.1 to 5.5 esxi servers.

I've updated 5 servers without problems but the sixth, I had a problem.

This morning when I've updated a host everything worked fine. Suddenly, an hour later, host was unreachable and when I checked in the server room

I got a purple screen. I manually restarted the host, and everything seems to work.

In my research, one user has this kind of problem, and it's cyclical. I'm doing research in this type of case a way to fix this bug.

I took a quick glance at 2 positions:

VMware KB: ESXi hosts with larger workloads can generate partial core dumps

    VMware communities: All content-all communities

Is that someone already had this kind of screen? Understand what the purple screen?

    Kind regards

Definitely check your versions of firmware on your server, BIOS, NETWORK card, card Raid array.  What type of server is it?

  • Purple screen of death with ESXi 3.4 U4

I lived I have a strange problem with esxi 3.5 U4. Yesterday morning I got the purple screen on one of my hosts esxi test, if anyone can give me any idea what this error means.

on the host, it there was only one virtual machine running with ubuntu server on it. The thing I noticed is that my colleague, who install the ubuntu Server I forgot to install vmware tools. Can this be the cause of this error.

After a reboot and the vmware tools install everything I work, but I don't know what was the problem in the first place, so I appreciate your responses.

    Kind regards

  • ESXi 4.0 Update 2 guests can present a purple screen after vCenter Server is upgraded to 5.0

The KB article http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC & docType = kc & externalId = 2007269 said that with the 4.1 update 2, you will discover a purple screen after the upgrade of the server vCenter.

Does anyone know if all 4.1 < U3 are also affected?  What about 4.0?  I need to know if I should plan a lot of upgrades to the host before our upgrade to vCenter.

    Thank you!

from my understanding, it's just bound to 4.0U2, however, you can provide feedback to the KB article.

  • Purple screen

Suddenly during the production during the day, one of my hosts ESXi 5.5 crashes with a purple screen.

    The error is 14 exception.

At the bottom of the screen, it says "partial discharge: not enough space.

This suggests that it is impossible to make a Coredump on the disk.

What can cause this problem? It is the third accident in 4 months.

  • A purple screen of death (.. .exception 14 to the world...) with Vsphere 5.5 and Windows 2012R2 Server (problem solved)

    Hello

I think it is good to add here...

I started now to migrate my server under Windows Server R2 2012. The virtual environment is vSphere 5.5 HP DL380G7 servers.

Today, I have solved a hard crash of the host server after you have added a server Win2012R2. The symptoms are CMTF (purple screen of death) to the host (I was pleased that I have disabled the new customer HA; that would be a blow my other hosts).

Basic message was "...". exception 14 worldwide xxxx... ».

I solved it very simple by changing the E1000 to VMXNET3 virtual network card. For me, it looks like a bug to develop by VMware in the next versions. For now it works.

I hope this information helps you!

    Good luck!

  • LSI-9210-8i (LSI SAS 2008) written very unstable and purple screen

    Hello!

I have a serious stability problem and I am not able to understand how to solve.

I have an IBM ServerRaid M1015 (oem of a LSI-9220-8i version) I reflashed with the ISIS software (9210-8i IT mode, but see below for details).

When I started with ESXi and create a virtual machine with a big virtual disk (90% of the physical disk), the creative process hangs after some time (about 10% for a vdisk 145GB on a 160 GB pdisk)

and I get a lot of 'stuff' in the file vmkernel.log (see attachment logfiles). Finally, ESXi will be purple screen and die.

I seem to be able to make the small diskaccesses with no problems.

To test if it's a hardware problem, I have:

    • I did a new install of Debian - 6.0, and there everything works without problem.
    • I only did a new install of Solaris-11u1 no problem here too: the controller was FAST!
    • I tried to move the controller to another host (HP DL120 G6), same problem here.
    • I even tried to buy another controller (which worked perfectly with the included IBM software but after that I have reflashed with the LSI-9210-8i IT firmware, that he was not only the first)
    • I tried a cable cutter instead of HP backplane to be sure it wasn't the bottom of basket that gave me problems.
    • I tried to move the map to another location PCIe cable 8087 to the other port on the controller card.

    The system configuration:

    • VMware: ESXi - 5.1.0update1 (build 1065491)
    • Machine: HP ML150 G6 (12 GB of memory, BIOS: ø21) and HP DL120 G7

I have attached the log files from the system. Is anyone able to point me in a direction for a fix? Or any who have used IBM M1015 (in mode IT) with VMware - 5.1

This starts to become just a little frustrating! :-)

I cannot conclude 100% but it seems to be a driver problem ESXi or the combination of firmware and driver.

    Best regards

    Hello!

It seems that VMware ESXi 5.5 have a conflict pilot with different controllers in the same machine at the same time.

I have been using the LSI AND the controller on the motherboard for extra drive supported.

When I only disks on the controller LSI wanished of problems!

I have why it worked in the Debian and Solaris with disks on both controllers, but not in ESXi. I tried to level the firmware and drivers of LSI, but he will get unstable on me when using different types of controllers at the same time.

    Best regards

  • Simulate the purple screen

Is it possible to simulate the purple screen of death?  If so, how?

    Thank you.

If it's for ESXi, you can do it using vsish - http://www.ntpro.nl/blog/archives/1388-Lets-create-some-Kernel-Panic-using-vsish.html

If you are looking for classic ESX, you can do it with vsish, but you will need to get a package of VMware debugging, because vsish is not available on ESX classic by default.

  • Windows 8 shows a purple screen flashing after the start. I can't access the start menu and the desktop... How can I fix it?

It worked fine for a day. Then this happened.

Mine 8.1 flicking of screen between the office and purple screen constantly, occurred because of a Windows update that is has happened when I wasn't paying attention.

I just went into recovery menu taking into turning computer turned off and before you turn on the computer, press and hold the F8 key

-Press F8 all the time until the "Please wait" is displayed on your screen

    - Then it will say recovery

    -See Advanced repair options

    Were able to:

    -Troubleshooting

    -Advanced options

    -System restore

I chose a restore date before that I did my last windows update and then flew it worked.

Then I created a good restore point and reinstalled the update and everything was fine. I hope this helps someone.

I guess the update got initially interrupted either by loss or hiccups in the Wi - Fi or DSL and something do not go right.
