Purple tint on monitor

I logged on my PC today and every thing has a weird purple tint to it.

I didn't kno what to mess with, but if anyone has any clue to help me id much appreciate it.

Hi, Donovan,.

1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

Method 1

First of all, I would say that you reset the monitor settings that you would find in the menu of the monitor.

Adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/adjust-your-monitors-brightness-and-contrast

Method 2

Looks like that the display is damaged, I would say you connect another monitor to the computer and check if the problem persists.

Method 3

If the problem persists on the other computer and then change desktop theme and check if the problem persists.

(a) open settings theme by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, personalizationand then click theme.

(b) under the theme, select the theme that you want, and then click OK.

I hope this helps!

    DocCottle,

I followed all of the documents that you referred me to and done all the suggested fixes.  All Pages print great quality BUT the "calibration" repeatedly failed.   I contacted HP Support by phone and they said it was probably a hardware problem.  Still no pictures to print with a purple tint.

  • CQ62-410US stuck with "Several monitor - Clone View" and VGA port does not

    Hello!

I have a Compaq CQ62-410US computer laptop with an Intel GMA 4500 M (onboard) video card and a port output VGA, Windows 7 x 64 operating system. A few weeks back the screen was broken (kick straight punch of a child) and nothing could be transmitted via the VGA output either, but the laptop booted and I could hear the sound of Windows 7 logon. I never checked before the VGA output port.
Yesterday, I replaced the screen broke up with and identical. The fine (full-screen) display in case of back work (boot from USB Flash and the sea + test images), but in Windows 7, two vertical black stripes appeared on the sides because lower than the native resolution. The resolution can be changed at native 1366 x 768 "Screen resolution" because the display is set by default to "Multiple monitors" (I have no other monitor connected, only the built-in screen) and "display of Clone. The built-in display is set as secondary and 'Generic non - PnP' is defined as primary. Any attempt to set the integrated display as primary function or to change the mode "display single" / "Extend view" leads to a black screen with the backlight always on, no matter where I change the settings - in the 'screen Resolution' or 'Graphic properties' (from driver Intel). In the 'Screen Resolution' window the pictogram of the screens show a single screen split in two, and when I press the button "Identify" it shows on the screen ' 1 | 2 ", as you left half of the screen is the main display and half right is the secondary display.
I put a Philips monitor to the VGA port, Windows detects and installs the appropriate driver, but there is no picture any of mode I put - Clone, Extend, unique display - monitor.
I tested 3 view of the site of Compaq drivers for my device and the GMA 4500 M drivers from Intel, but the problem is the same (with the drivers from the site intel, on I get only black screen with backlighting.) Pilots are unstable, sometimes at the opening session, page is only a black screen (but before the windows loading screen appear very well) that cannot be changed by "Fn + F4" / "F4" (change view) but a black with the backlight is turned off.
Due to the replacement of the hard disk, I can't use restore of the operating system that is installed at the factory.
Please advise me how to solve the display problem and enable the port VGA (get the image on the external monitor).
    Thank you in advance.
SSM there is not output through the VGA input even at the BIOS screen (no material or to issue independent of the operating system support?).

    I have attached a screenshot.

Update: I started a live Knoppix CD, and I don't find any problem - unique in 1366 x 768 display configuration; I could even play a game in 3D (OpenGL). While hanging from one monitor to the VGA port, it was found, but when trying to print image to it the OS hung. I guess it's a hardware problem, something to do with the video controller.

I thought about it, it's the GPU, I think that some of the contacts are damaged. Today even in the BIOS screen I see in the middle of the screen a vertical thin purple line which was bounded two screens on a single screen, and all now have a purple tint.

I had a quick glance at the GPU and surprise - it is glued to the motherboard, no sleeve, no welding. The motherboard chipset is also stuck.

    See the attached images.

Thank you for the excellent support. I will never buy anything with Compaq logo on it.

  • HP Deskjet F4180 print photos with a purple hue across

Hi all, I was hoping that someone can help me. Our HP Deskjet F4180 is printing pictures with a purple tint (usually something in, like a coffee table or wood panelling, comes out magenta-y).

I tried troubleshooting it myself and it seems there is no problem with the printer cartridge, or the program that I am printing.

    Here is what I tried:

-current color cartridge replacement with a new one; problem persists

-cleaning of the cartridge through the HP Solution Center (he asked me to clean, then intermediate clean, then first; tried all three, and the problem still persists)

-print the photo of Microsoft Office Picture Manager and Microsoft Word

-change the color balance (I value Magenta - 25; still did not help)

This problem started after I printed 60 wine labels, which all had purple graphic and black text on them... but I think a lot of printing of purple would cause the printer having less purple coming out, no more...

Any ideas what the problem may be? I have included a link below to the images show what that is the problem - the first image is how the picture should look like, the second is an analysis of the image printed super-purply (which, moreover, is printed on ordinary printer paper white old).

    Hi Ciara B,

I had the intention to get back to you with some comments - thanks for your help! I tried the last steps, you suggested, except to repair, which is what I wanted to avoid .

I found a solution to the problem though - I completely uninstalled the printer from my computer, then insta. Ed again and it works perfectly! Don't know what the problem is, but reinstall all fixed.

    Thanks again!

  • Green function screen changes the video original colors

    Hello.
I just started using the green screen feature in iMovie and it works great except for one thing.
It changes some of the colors in my original video and I can't seem to fix it.
The top image is therefore the original video with green screen and the 2nd image when the functionality of greenscreen and the bottom are applied.

As soon as it is applied, it changes dark blue skirt of the topic to the violet and also adds a purple tint on silver back, his sword and his shield.
I tried with different backgrounds and it still changes the color. Also tried in iMovie and same problem.
If the blue skirt was perform the greenscreen function, it would turn out just see through, is not?
Any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you in advance! * NOTE: Screenshot taken in iMovie, but I tried them both and same question *.

Lla problem is the magenta used to counter green in the suppression of spill. I don't know how to control it in iMovie, if it is still possible. The question on the forum of iMovie.

  • Portege R700 - external monitor color is purple

The external monitor is with the main color purple.

The labtop detects the right monitor and all works well, but it is from today a main color purple throughout.

    Its TSF even a projector!

    What about the internal display?
The color purple appears on the internal screen too?

In case the internal monitor is OK, the graphics chip should also be OK and in this case, I think that the video output port (RGB / HDMI) or the cable connecting the two devices that can be touched.

In which case the color purple would appear too on the internal display, then the GPU (graphics chip) was malfunctioning.

PS: what model of laptop you have excatly and how you connect the external monitor/projector to laptop?

  • Satellite Pro L300 - external monitor has a yellow tint to the screen

I have connected a new external monitor to my Sat Pro L300 and the monitor of the station has a strong tinge of yellow to the display.
I have tried with other monitors and cables and they do the same screen that is yellow.

Can anyone suggest what I can do, I tried to change all the color settings, but they don't get rid of the yellow tint.
    Thank you.

Well, maybe this problem is related to the failure of hardware since will have to show common colors without changing the settings in the color settings in the graphics card Control Panel

In my opinion this s hardware problem
However, before I ask a technician for advice I recommend updated the BIOS and reinstall the graphics driver.

  • Blue tint to my monitor Gateway under XP Desktop Gateway - graphics card, nVidia, display

My monitor has a constant bluish tint to it. Green is more yellow than green, and overall visual quality became problematic. I tried to adjust the resolution of the screen, color settings and other settings on the screen, but the tint bluish low quality still prevails.

I thank you very much for any assistance, you may be able to provide!

PS - It doesn't seem to be a monitor problem. I plugged the screen on my laptop and it worked perfectly fine.

    There are several possibilities:

    1. the monitor. But if it works correctly on another computer, it is
    is it not.

    2. the video card.

    3. the driver for the video card.

    4. the connection cable from the monitor to the video card. Have you used the
same cable to connect the monitor to the laptop? If this is not the
    cable.

    5. the tightening of the cable. But once again, if you have used the same cable
and have reconnected, which seem not to be the problem.

So it's probably the video card (more likely) or its driver
(less likely). The first thing I would try is to make sure that the
video card is firmly seated in its slot in the motherboard.

  • Yellow tint on the second monitor

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit for my Toshiba laptop.

When I connect via VGA to a secondary monitor (TV Widescreen), sometimes the colors are good, but most of the time, it has a yellow tint to it. Using the same cable, I connected a different Vista laptop and the color is always great - the pins and ports all looks good, so I have excluded from the TV or the cable is the problem. I tried to download the latest driver on the Toshiba site, and who has fixed the problem of the evening, but this morning, we were back to the same problem. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 3100. It just seems randomly when it is normal and when he goes wobbly. I literally will not touch anything either, and it back, sometimes falters. Help?

One thing that you might try using a different cable, who knows. I suspect the port to be deffective. I had an experience once a cable on another computer but not working on my laptop, when I replaced the cable of the work of thing very well, hard to explain.

  • Monitor of 22xi HP Pavilion showing the Green tint on the right side

I've had my Pavilion 22xi for about 8 months now and everything has been fine until a few days ago when a green tint has appeared on the right side of the screen. A pink ghosting of my web browser can also be seen in the upper right when, on a dark background. I use the monitor as a second monitor connected to a macbook via a connector mini displayport HDMI /. The problem occurs on mac and windows.

I changed the HDMI cables, checked the connections, reset the monitor to factory settings, read through the HP troubleshooting tips and try the monitor with another computer, but the same problem persists.

I think there is an error with a monitor, but I wanted to ask if there was anything that I'm missing or a solution before contacting HP support.

Hi Kojiri, sorry to hear that you are having problems with your screen display. One thing that I know that I had problems with was that I have a subwoofer near the monitor and it caused the screen to change the color. I also noticed a slight change in color when I had my base of wireless phone, sitting on the desk next to the screen. Now if this isn't the case for you, I suggest that you please click on the link I provided and try the document that solves the problems of different screen.

If you are still having problems with the screen, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you further.
