Video - Tecra 8000

I have a Tecra 8000 with Windows XP Pro installed.
Everything works perfectly, I've updated the BIOS to v9.3 - BUT I can't get the video of the matches to work.
I tried the RCA Jack on the back and also connected the SVGA dongle to the outlet side and used the composite video output on that, but no signal seems out of one of them.

I've tinkered with various different BIOS settings, use the Fn + F5 key all to nothing does not.
I read in the forum here that others have the same problem, so I also add a call for help with this one. May I ask, has ANYONE managed to actually get a composite video signal on their Tecra?

Hi Peter

If your Tecra comes preinstalled with Toshiba Recovery CD all the drivers and tools should work properly. In this case there are, in my view, two reasons that could explain why it does not work. Is mobile the cause of this problem or there is a problem with the TV and TV setting.

Using the FN + F5 key combination, you can switch to an external device. It will be interesting to know if it works properly with the external monitor. It is not the same port, but the tool is the same. You can also try to connect your laptop to another TV. Sometimes it is not easy to say what may be the problem. If there is no way to have some success, you need professional help. Maybe the service partner can perform a short control of video composite output port.

  • Tecra 8000 composite video output

I'm running the video output from my tecra 8000 via yellow composite video connector at the rear of the unit. I thought it was as simple as pluging in both sides of a RCA (one end to the video input of a video recorder) Jack and the other end into the video Tecra.
I get NOTHING on the screen. What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

normally, you have to pass the video signal in the composite connection.
For this (on newer models at least) by pressing FN + F5.
This combination toggles the 'next' display/device combination
If the videodevice primary and standard is the internal TFT, pressing FN + F5 once going to signal internal both TFT and RGB (monitor connector). Next time you press it, it will only in RGB, and next time, again, it should go to the TV output (composite).

    Try it!

  • Video output port does not work on Tecra 8000

My Toshiba Tecra 8000 screen has cracked and I realized this was a video output port, but it does not work.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

What video output port can you hear? The VGA port or the output port RCA-video? In both cases, the external display you seek, should give a picture.
If this isn't the case, it should at least be configurable in windows.

Please specify your question and tell more details on exactly what you want.

The material must be able to handle the Windows XP but I think that you will not find the Toshiba XP drivers for this device.
Therefore, it will be very difficult to run Notepad with all Toshiba Tecra 8000 features.

  • Tecra 8000 - TV on WXP

Does anyone know what I should do to make it work on the laptop Tecra 8000 TV connection output? I have Win XP OS installed.

When I connect the video cable, the TV screen is all black. I can connect my desktop PC to TV the same way and it works. The laptop has Magic Media 256AV video card. I thought that maybe the problem was with the driver, but I can find them only for Win 98.
    Thanks for your help.

AFAIK this Tecra older is not delivered with WXP which means that you use your own installation of the OS. In this case check the graphics card setting to activate the TV option.

It seems that Toshiba doesn't support WXP for this device. Try to find the driver WXP on the card manufacturer download page.

  • Tecra 8000: W2K - how to operate the 2 screens at the same time

I have a tecra 8000 with win 2000 pro is installed.

Everything works fine with one exception...
Press the [fn] [f5] keys to use the device outside.

Is there a way I can get it to run 2 screens at the same time (either cloned or, preferably tv being a secondary monitor)?

If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful

    Thank you

I'm not familiar with the Tecra 8000 and W2K operating system. If there I sno good driver on Toshiba download page (I assume W2K is not supported for this model of laptop), please try to find the driver somewhere on the net. I found some info your unit has NeoMagic NM2200 (MagicMedia 256av) video card.

To use an external monitor as a second monitor, or extended display just try to use the Windows settings in display properties.

  • Tecra 8000 TV out when it is docked

The docking station for the doen't Tecra8000 replicate the TVout connector, but I have a cable to right angle that matches the TV normal port when connected and allows the cable out the host unit. TV connector normally output is disabled when it is docked and is there a setting in the registry or something in 98SE to re - activate?

I connect my Tecra to a TV to watch DivX movies on the big screen, with the audio goes to my stereo, but I need to use the device with the Replicator, because the server containing my video files on a network, so I need the capacity of the network. I COULD use a network adapter, but then that beats the purpose of a docking station with the LAN!

    Retro Hi

I'm a bit confused. As much as I know some Tecra 8000 have no LAN card. If your camera has card LAN and LAN port why you n t plug it directly into the TV and LAN without Port Replicator?

I'm not sure if the port is disabled, but you can test if you can 100%. If there is no success, you must use the PCMCIA network adapter.

  • Updating BIOS for Tecra 8000 without floppy

I searched this forum a solution update the BIOS without a floppy drive. The only one i found was this thread [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=66966&tstart=0], but there is no file .iso for the tecra 8000 series.
is there a solution to get the new bios installed on my tecra 8000 without any floppy drive?

I checked Toshiba BIOS download page on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_bios.jsp and TRAD BIOS version is proposed. This old Tecra is maybe 10 years and now, Toshiba has offered traditional update the BIOS only.

Win versions are later available with latest Tecra 9000/9100.
    I'm sorry.

Maybe stupid question now, but why do you need the BIOS update?

  • Tecra 8000 - failure to CD-ROM - new installation disc?

The CD-ROM drive in my Tecra 8000 has a defect. It attempts to load a CD-ROM, LED is flashing, it stops, and then the drive LED is lit.
So I guess the drive is down.

What kind of new CD-ROM is suitable for this laptop? Toshiba only original ones?

    Hello

Wow, the Tecra 8000 series is really old. Do you use yet this laptop?
It feels like the notebook would come from the stone age ;)

However, I think that the CD/DVD drive supports * interface IDE but not all readers would be compatible due to master/slave/cable select settings

It seems that the reader of DVD-ROM + Toshiba - SD-C2002 + would be compatible.
Not sure if you'll be able to get this disc because of the age of the unit, but probably the authorized Toshiba maintainer in your country could provide some readers compatible optical disc

  • Tecra 8000 and broadband connection

    Hi all

I recently asked to watch Tecra 8000 a friends (PII 233) and give it a bit of an update... Don't know why the most I've ever done, is to add a few small components in my PC at home!

My question is - is this possible for a connection broadband to be put in place - I looked all over the laptop, but don't find nothing which would suggest it is possible.
(Also what other improvements should be can) watching us.

Sorry for the noobness, but any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Ben

Wow this is really an oldie
Broadband do you mean the LAN port?

As far as I know that the Tecra 8000 was not equipped with LAN port.
It s really amazing but it is a fact

However, if you want to use LAN then I advise you to buy a PCMCIA (Cardbus 32-bit) LAN card that would be allows to connect the Tecra 8000 to LAN.

    See you soon

    Hello!

You can use a drive enclosure external DRIVE with USB port for this.
The external HARD disk enclosure should be for 2.5 s HDD with IDE interface. All that s.

Contact your local computer dealer. I'm sure they will have these cases.

Try to change some settings in the BIOS.
In the configuration box, you can set the configuration of device option to all devices.
In addition, in the area PC card, you can try changing the compatible option CCIP or CardBus / 16-bit.

Play with these settings and check if a this will allow the card.

PS: Have you installed all the drivers that should be shipped with this card?

  • How to get to his work on W2k on Tecra 8000?

Is it possible to get the sound to work on a Tecra 8000 using windows 2000 pro? I just upgraded from win 98 and the audio driver install the Yamaha opl3-sax, but there is no sound. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling different drivers, but none seems not to work.

    Hello

I also recommend to check the Device Manager. If there is no yellow exclamation next to the sound card, so I would say that the audio driver has succeeded not installed and there must be something wrong with the audio settings.
Have you checked the sound and audio devices in the control panel? You should check all the audio controller if they are defined at the top level.
In addition, I would recommend controls the controller of volume on the side of the laptop. People sometimes forget to define. ;)

Have you tried to get into the BIOS?
    Check it out.
But usually after the update laptop BIOS should properly work and boots.
Have you followed the instructions on the BIOS update on the page of Toshiba?
Maybe you did something wrong and the motherboard is damaged.
