  • Put the printer 'outside' guides a document

    Hello

I received a Word document I want to adopt so that it can be printed.

The PDF itself has a size of 210 mm * 210 mm, which is the size I am looking for. If I add printing marks, I'm obviously almost 2 cm horizontally and vertically. However, this isn't the goal. There are two ways: messing around with the paper size of the words or messing around with the PDF file. I prefer the latter, because change papersizes in Word means pain and headaches.

It is the most obvious: can I add a white margin on each side of the document and then get my right pads and put the printer marks?

I searched the Internet and found some people to think in one background, others on the use of PitStop, but none of them has done the job so far.

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards

    Thorben

Use the Crop Pages... option in the Document menu. You can use it to add white margins around the PDF.

  • How to set the printer online and keep it online in vista?

I use my laptop with vista on a network.  When I turn on the laptop sometimes printer says offline and I can't connect unless I have reinstall printer.  There is nothing wrong with my printer or a computer.  The problem is vista not reconnected to the printer.  My XP computer connects again everytime.  I read there was a fix for the problem, but can't find it to download.  I'm not sharing of printer, I connect to the printer directly via the wireless network.  The network is fine and sees the vista printer, but does not connect online

Go to the Control Panel, open Printers, click right your printer, and then click Create a shortcut. The shortcut will be placed on your desktop. Open the printer shortcut and click the printer in the menu and uncheck the use printer offline if it is checked. You can drag to the taskbar where it is no longer accessible and remove a Desktop or keep both.

  • Turn the printer online

It is a simple question that no one seems able to give a simple answer. In windows 7 How to change a printer offline to online. It's a change to a single click in XP!

True - the Brother HL-5250DN just goes to sleep.  No online/offline to the printer (although in my view, the web interface may have something.  I'll check my 5170DN).

However - in your case - make sure you have the latest driver installed and the driver not only the "Windows 7 seen."

Click here to visit the site to download for the Brother HL-5250DN

You will need to know if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.

They have a complete package of software/driver update 21/02/2011.  This gives you the best feature (speaking from experience) on a Brother printer.

  • I try to print from Windows Photo Gallery. Put the print job in the queue, but does not print.

I try to print a photo directly from the Windows Vista Photo Gallery. The task appears in the print queue and says he is "sent to printer", but prints never. I can print from other programs. I tried to reinstall my printer driver but no problems. My printer is a Dell 946. Any ideas?

    Hi DElizabethB,

1 when was the last time you were able to print using Windows Photo Gallery?
    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party photo editing software installed on the computer is in conflict with the printing process.

I suggest that you check if the Windows Photo Gallery is set as default program for opening images on the computer.

    1. open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.
    2. click on set your default programs.
    3. in the framework of programs, click the Windows Photo Gallery, and then click set this program as default.
    4. click on OK.
    5. check if printing works.

    Method 2

It is possible that some settings for the printer are incorrect, run the fix tool available in the link below and check if it works.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-printer-problems

    Method 3

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer are in conflict with the printing process.
I suggest you perform the clean boot procedure and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    1. click on Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    3. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

    I hope this helps!

reset the settings to the printer... still no print... more haven't added any items to the menu bar... they went bar & customize window title bar changed...

By default Firefox will be "reduced to adjust." You who can disable in layout in a regular window or in print preview, but it's hard to call Preview in the window pop up in print, because the menu bar and the toolbar are removed. If it is a common problem, you can use a different add-on (!) which puts the print preview before printing and Page Setup on the shortcut menu.

I have not used for some time, but I hope that it always works in Firefox 29: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/printprint-preview/

    [Moved from comments]

    Hello

    1. who is the operating system installed on the computer?

    2. what happens when you tried to make the printer online?

    3. do you receive any error messages?

This problem occurs if the computer has the following registry value configured when you set the printer status offline .

    Method 1:

You can read this article and follow the steps provided.

The new status of the printer is "offline" after you remove a print queue and then restart a Windows computer

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2027593

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

    a. open the start menu, click Control Panel, and click on the "Printers and faxes" icon This will open a window with a list of the printers currently installed on your computer.
    b. double-click the icon of the printer that you want to change online. It will open a pop-up window describing all current print jobs.
    c. go to "printer" in the menu bar of the pop-up window and uncheck "use printer offline." This action will change the printer from offline to online mode.

  • LaserJet 4000 TN: The printer HP Laserjet 4000 Series PCL5: error state & quot; message & quot;

I sent the following message to Microsoft after a ' update:

I have a printer HP Laserjet 4000 Series PCL5 TN which worked beautifully "black only" for many years. A recent update (Windows 10:12 / 22/15) seemed to put the printer in the "printer error state", when you try to print a simple document. It has been my default printer for a long time. I followed the suggestions of printer "windows 10", that is, unplug and plug - check cable (not USB) connections, remove the printer from the list of print devices /, reinstall drivers HP for Windows 10 (following suggestions from HP on HP site) - nothing seems to work. It has a network cable connection, but it is directly connected to my computer, no other computers are connected. See screen capture below. I even did a "recovery" of before 12/22! Any suggestions? Thank you. GM

    I received instructions from Microsoft:

You run the printer Troubleshooter and identify the cause?

If this isn't the case, we will do that by visiting the link below and see if it helps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-10/fix-printer-problems

Check also the update (KB number) has recently been installed on your computer.

You can also restore printer drivers and check.

To restore the driver, you can follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows + R on the desktop screen.
    • Type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
    • Expand the printer drivers and do a right-click on the driver and select Properties.
    • Go to the driver tab and click driver RollBack.

Can I assume that you use a parallel cable to connect the printer to the computer.  If you do this is a known problem that can be solved.  Go to Device Manager and then click ports.  Double-click the lpt for the printer port, and then click on device settings at the top.  Change the default setting of the middle box checked in the box below to use any available interruption. I would also check the legacy down.  If necessary, turn the computer off and then turn it back on, but most of the time this solves the problem without a reboot.

  • When perform a reset of the printer

    Hello community,

There were positions there were people said they have disconnected the printer or he did a partial reset and the printer does not work or do not know what to do and they tried to unplug.  There is a right way and a good time to do this. And this process is a reset.

    1. a reset is not usually the first step to take when you encounter a problem with the printer. Usually, there are there documents that have steps to try the first as searching for debris or re-seats ink cartridges or more steps according to the error message or the symptom that the printer is having troubleshooting.  You do not want to fill these first because some steps are placed in order to fix the process. If a step takes care of the problem, we stop there and not continue troubleshooting.

(2.) A hard reset is for hardware issues and error messages. They try to put the printer in a known working state, if possible. As a hard shut down on a computer. It is not something we do all the time.  With a hard reset without user settings are lost. This is not the case with all the resets and it is necessary to know the parameters that can be lost when they do a partial reset, is an example of what is lost with a partial reset fax memory is cleared on this machine. It is better to know what will be lost before a reset.

I just wanted the coverage and warning on some of the elements that come with reset. It is important to know when to do a reset and what may be lost.

As usual, I hope this helps out! Good impression!

  • m276n: print from a mobile device using a wired connection on the printer

    Hello

I am considering buying the printer m276n for use in the home. I have a small Home Office on the top floor of my house which is out of range of my wifi signal but has a wired connection to the same router that broadcasts the wifi signal. I want to put the printer and connect it via a wired connection to the network. I know that it works perfectly for all windows home computers that are attached to the same network (wired and wireless), as long as I give you a fixed IP address to the printer.

But since we use mobile devices more and more (apple and android) it will be a nice to have to print those as well. I watched Eprint Airprint movies, but all tell me that the printer must be connected wireless. Is it a necessity or my proposed wired installation will work just as well?

    Hi @MartijnS ,

I see by your post that you would like to know if you can use the ePrint Airprint functionality with the printer and when it is configured on the network via an Ethernet connection. I can certainly help you.

The ePrint and Airprint feature work when a printer is connected to a network. It can be wired or wireless to the router.

Here is the document with a little information for print from an Apple Mobile Device.

The documentation shows also wireless, but again, it works through a wired too.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a great day!
    Thank you.
