  Hello people,

  I've read several documents on the site OR about the premium over common measures of mode and I think I understand, but I'm looking for confirmation through two examples (please).

  Both examples assume a data acquisition card OR with +/-10V inputs and a maximum operating voltage of + / 11V (e.g. PCI-6052 with programmable gain 0.5).

  Example 1: Suppose a DC voltage with two resistors divider and a differential input on the daq card configuration.  First resistance = 4 Ohms connected to 100VDC, second resistance = 96 - grounded (0) Ohms.  This results in a decline of 4VDC to the terminals of the first resistance.  However, I believe that the differential voltage of 4VDC may be connected directly to the daq card because the absolute voltage (i.e. common mode?) is in fact 96VDC to 100VDC which is outside the "working range' of + / 11V for the card.  This conclusion is correct?

  Example 2: Suppose a differential measure between two AC signals and a differential input on the daq card configuration.  First report = 25v@0deg, second signal = 10v@180deg.  Some documents on the Web site of NOR, I gathered that the common mode voltage is the average of the vector representation of the input signals.  In this case, it would be (25v@0deg + 10v@180deg) / 2 = 7.5v@0deg.  I think that this signal can be directly connected to the daq card because one of the signals (25v@0deg) is outside the range of the card work (even if the result "means vectors" is within the scope of the map daq.  This conclusion is correct?

  Chassan,

  You're right both of your examples. Is the best way to look at that is that even if you take a measure differential the maximum voltage you can submit a single channel to the + / 11V to the 6052E. Hope this clears things up a little bit.

  I remember back to Labview 5 national had a great discussion tutorial white paper or knowledge base on how to understand the values of resistance when you perform a measurement of differential circuit.  I have a PXI-6230.  I can't find that anywhere now.  Can someone point me to a discussion of the decent webpage on the calculation of the resisitors to differential measures?

  I use LabVIEW and NI PXI-4071 PXI NOR 6070E to measure the current through a variable resistance. Now, I use a single channel of SCB - 68, but I want to add another channel at the same time so that I can have two resistors instead of one that I cam measure current through them.

  I have attached a Pdf file showing installation of equipment to use and code LabVIEW also.

  Can someone look at these files and give me some guidelines or ideas that can help me solve this problem, please.

  Your 4071 can do a measure at a time. Your data acquisition cannot measure resistance is not she of the analog inputs.

  However, you could use a multiplexer and multiplexer your 4071 DMM. This habit give you simultaneous action, but can acquire data one after the other, the speed depends on the multiplexer, you choose!

  Sorry, I set off on the "Simultaineous" - the 6009 does not support simultaneous measurement.  Yes a task with multiple channels can have mixtures of complete and differential channels in a scan string-, but they must be on different inputs.

  Using a differential connection is certainly a good way of measuring an analogue of entry, as you already understand that divide you by two the number of your channels when using differential, but it will prevent any problems of grounding that can occur (for example ground loops).

  Knowledge according to article details the types of connection different http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3344 please refer to the "table 1: connection of the analogue input ' for more details on how to connect your circuit. I would recommend using the polarization resistance, but they are not vital for a differential connection.

  Hi, I'm looking for a vi that applies to an input through the AWG (PXI-5421) signal and measures the output through the SEARCH (PXI-5122). In particular, I'm trying to apply an entry by a multiplexer, then close this channel of the multiplexer through which the entry came and then measure the output using the SEARCH signal.

  I understand that you wanted to find an application that will be output on an AWG device and acquire a table digitizer at the same time. While there are many methods to achieve this, the easiest starting point would be to just take a simple example of niFgen and a simple example of niScope and run them together or combine them. According to exactly what your application requires, you may need to implement additional features, but it is a good starting point.

  In particular, you can find an example of this from the example of area developer program: OR-TCLK synchronize AWG and digitizer high speed. Basically, this example combines niFgen and niScope examples and using the API OR-TCLK to synchronize devices. I recommend watching the program and trying to start from there. Hope this helps,

  I seem to have difficulty querying for minimum and maximum measurements on my o'scope 7054 TDS. I have two meaurements on and if I question MEASU:MEAS1:TYP? He returned to MAX and back MIN for MEAS2. Yet, when I try to question the real value MEASU:MEAS1:MAX? It returns 99.000 + 36, which of course cannot be true. The strange thing is that the code works for the DPO4104. No idea what I am doing wrong? I have attached 2 sets of code, 1, that's how I activate measures on the scope, the other tries to query for max and min.

  You must use ": MEASU:MEAS %dto?" to get your data (put the number in the %d).  You ask in fact that the max best scope value recorded.  It can keep some statistics on measures.  Here are the commands that I use to get the data (even once, replace %d by the number of measure):

  My thesis project was halted in those 10 days, and I couldn't do anything for our keithley.

  None of you attached the screws are the driver OR you spoke. There is no conversion required for this driver.

  Since you are on Linux, use the command lspci - nn to learn the list the product ID for the PXI-6230. You can restrict the output of the NI PXI/PCI devices using the option d - 1093: after the command.

• differential measurement high voltage

  Not sure if this is the best place, but here goes.

  We are trying to measure a voltage differential across a shunt in offset voltage, which is then further +/-10V over data acquisition cards measure. Here's a representative diagram of our circuit:

  

  We must also measure 24 of these shunts while we move the motor one way or the other. That in one case the offset voltage is near current of 12 volts (rank 9-16Vcc) that eliminates all the cards of the cDAQ and it looks like the PXI series too. We currently use one SCXI-1104 researcher but a USB port on a laptop for this measure. The SCXI-1104 has a voltage range of + / 60V and I was unable to find anything close to that in the product offerings of NOR. The reason why this is going to be a problem for us is that large corporation, we are forced to move to windows 7-64 bit and SCXI hardware are not supported for this operating system.

  I am open to any suggestions that others may have to help us fix this problem.

  We ended up finding some amplifiers that have been specifically designed for the high pressure shunts.  Do a search on digikey for amplifier of high-side current shunt and you should be able to find something.  These will turn the measure into a single measure is over voltage.

• PXI-6608 fairer frequency measurement

  The attached VI measures the frequency of a known Hz 24,575,000 signal. When measured with a meter of frequency of 3 GHz Agilent 53181 A-010, that measure 24,575,999.4 Hzsignal. When the same signal is measured with the PXI-6608 meter, this signal is 24,576,149.3 Hz. The two instruments are calibrated, and the two measurements were performed with a portal of 8 sec.

  I use the more precise measurement technique? My PXI-6608 is defective or out of calibration, although it is brand new?

  The PXI-6608 is in slot 2 a PXI-1033. I connect to CTR1 via PFI - 35, triggering on the front and I have a door 8 sec for sub-Hz resolution.
