Q10 vs theme Z10

I test my app on the Q10 and it appears in the dark theme.

I have not indicated in the file bar.  Q10 is failing for the Dark on light on the Z10 vs. theme? Is there a setting on the Q10 to switch between themes?

Text on my app does not appear now.

I have two problem with the new 'black' theme on the Q10.

    1. Blackberry travel: I have problems to the police, it's very annoying and not visible.
    2. Pobcasys: same as above. Actually can't see anything for some reason any. Pobcasts launched on my other new BBZ10 and it has no problem whatsover.

    Anyone else having these issues?

    Thank you

OK, so I thought I'd give it. The problem is that I did a restore of my Z10 in my Q10 and all programs have been installed on the Q10. So I deleted the Podcasts and Crackberry Blackberry Travel apps and reinstalled the. Now they work fine again. So there is better when restoring a Z10 to a Q10 or visa versa, do not restore the apps, just redowload them again.

  • BlackBerry Q10 Q10 compared with Z10 cost

    Hello

Anyone (in the United Kingdom) can tell me why the Q10 is more expensive than the Z10? I am baffled by what to me Blackberry consider the Z10 as superior to the Q10.

    Concerning

    stephenc4

No, it's just something I noticed.  Devices referred to the use of the business seem to go put more money.  The 9900 is still wanted and brings a premium with the Quarrymen.  Few consumers buy them more but companies seem sure like them and they have money to spend.

  • Out of the build for only peripheral Q10 not for Z10

Can I build a release for only Q10 peripheral and transfer it into the same product in BBWorld?

If the device Q10 can see this build and Z10 sees the previous generation.

Yes. During the download, you can specify which devices the file BAR is for.

  • BlackBerry 10 Q10 BlackBerry vs Z10?

I'm due for an upgrade in September, I would like to know what the best regarding the preformance. Another thing, how is the virtual keyboard on the Z10? Better than the torch 9860 if all goes well.

I read about a lot of problems with physical keyboards. They work very well, but don't seem to last. They begin to double letters after a few months of use. I have seen it happen to friends who have.

I was a user of Torch 9810 before I was the Z10 and, possibly, the Z30. The virtual keyboard on the Z10 and Z30 is just beautiful and I would never return to the physical keyboard.

The addition of a screen real estate makes apps, games and navigation of a dream.

  • Detection of Q10 and Z10

Is there a way to detect whether the phone that works in the app is a Q10 or a Z10 with air?

    Thank you!

    It seems that I was comparing Capabilities.screenResolutionX with 700 rather than 720... = /

    But Capabilities.screenResolutionX works...

  • Q10 Q10 blackBerry Chargers

I have a new Q10, (also a Z10 and a Playbook).  Q10 was purchased on eBay at the suggestion of the Director of the local bank of T-mobile, which has been unable to provide one.

The phone itself works fine, but the charger provided did not provide it.  A red exclamation point appears over the battery icon.

The seller was very good about it and has provided three other chargers, none will work on the Q10.  They also provided a 'free' car charger that works.

These are type Chargers small cube with a USB port and sync cable.  They carry the BB logo.

I can load the Q10 by cables to sync my laptop, I can also load the Q10 using chargers for my Z10 and Playbook. (The charger Z10 appears identical to Q10 Chargers that don't work).  Q10 Chargers will charge my Z10, just not the Q10.

Q10 is an unlocked AT & t phone that I use with a T-mobile SIM card on T-mobile's network.  The version of the OS is 10.1.0.2121.

Anyone can mount any light this situation?

Because your Q10 Chargers will charge your Z10, we can rule out the possibility of them being data cables only. A common suggestion when problems arise is to make sure that you use the most recent operating system, which you're not. Before racking your other brain, why not bump up to the most recent available OS and try loading your Q again.

The best way to update your operating system is with Knowyou. @John_Clark has written a good tutorial to do:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/BlackBerry-10-OS-device-software/upgrading-BB10-OS-using-Sach...

Start with that and we'll pick up from there.

  • theme dark and light at the same time support

    The Z10 has a bright, the Q5 and Q10 a theme dark.

I know, I'm able to force an application to the Z10 to use a theme dark in the file of the bar - descriptor.xml. Unfortunately, this parameter will be set for each user.

I mean lately more 'bad' critical App World because one of my Apps clings to BlackBerry design rules and uses a light theme to the Z10. Some users want a dark on-screen Z10. If I would now force the application to use a dark users who would like to have the defect would be moaning. In addition, the App is built for certified BlackBerry and I have to respect the rules of official design.

How do other developers solve this problem?

If I look in the documentation of the api theme there are currently no still no possibility to change this in the runtime. Or have I missed something? By changing the colors of each item does not work, you can not change the color of the element example {divider. He would get so invisible if you simply change the color of a container in the dark.

    Any ideas?

In the meantime, there is a well working solution:

  • Z10 blackBerry how age emails in the hub

Is it possible to display e-mails from more than 15-20 days in the hub

Currently, you can synchronize messages up to 30 days in the hub.  It is a choice that you make when you configure each e-mail account.

By releasing BB OS 10.1, ActiveSync accounts are supposed to give 'Forever', assuming that the same options that demonstrate make new Q10 headed the Z10. IMAP accounts will probably remain at 30 days.  Your options will be determined based on what offers your e-mail provider.

  • Questions of Q10 Q10 blackBerry Hope J Sanders can help

Hi I'm new to this forum so apologies in advance if I have bad things. I've always used my last phone torch I loved & waited for the Q10 among many ridiculous according I have friends to BlackBerry phone & Samsung. I went for the 4G active even if I knew that our home would not receive it but figured it would default to 3G, etc.. I was told that my service/reception would remain the same. Unfortunately, this was not the case. My part in all home play, it was my BlackBerry torch was the only phone that could send & receive text/email & make & receive calls. Now all I can be guaranteed is by e-mail. Text is not reliable, called a chimera. I pick up is no longer UMAs (can be a factor). Do not understand that at all. Due to go to the hospital for an op & just recover, I missed the option 14 days as I prefer the above services obviously as I am unable to be contacted when other than the email home. I'd go sim only on my torch. Another very strange/weird problem arose when I tried to enter my email BlackBerry existing my torch to the Q10, it was an impossibility. I spent 3. Hours in phones for U (where I've improved) with a very helpful member of staff (not the store where I've updated) after 3 phone calls from hrs 2 rim technical support who spoke also told because BIZ? Is more on any new BlackBerry (Rim tech support) had to do something their end to allow me to keep my BlackBerry email. What she did quickly yet Q10 still insist on a redirect don't email so no go. RIM technical support (same woman) then says Orange to send through the beam of my BlackBerry on my contract. According to Phones 4U, this had been done. Out of curiosity I asked chap in store of EA that got EA don't do not all beams and even less those of BlackBerry. Needless to say I had to have a new email, I don't want and find it unacceptable that I can't have my existing BlackBerry address that caused a nightmare on the sphere of work. I gave up printing & while the cosmetics of the Q10 is good for me it is essential to make a phone call from home & I really can't my head around why I can't now be on my wonderful state of the Ark of BlackBerry. All I wanted was a new BlackBerry with the same facilities. So no installation of appeal / risky text & unable to keep my existing BlackBerry email address. If I worked for BlackBerry I would not promote this as progress. My colleagues of loyal BlackBerry knowing my experience re calls & email address were not for the Q or Z 10. I myself am currently lamenting also detach my BlackBerry Torch. At home, it seems unnecessary to have turned it on. Can Sanders J maybe give me some advice on how or why the service I get now is much lower on my torch (at home). Thank you Dawn

    Welcome to the forums.

Q10 is a completely different device any other prior BB device. It uses no BIS. It uses standard data available from any carrier plans.

Secondly, with regard to the electronic address .blackberry, which was a feature of BIS and do NOT rely on only this e-mail address. The problem with it is that there is no way to access this e-mail from other devices as a compatible device BIS BB and only to the company that accompany you. If you change carriers, you will lose the email address. They are gradually.

With respect to coverage, your device should be 2 G, 3 G and 4 G. You can go into the settings of Mobile network and make sure that it is set for all bands. UMA is NOT available (yet) on any device BB10. If you you ranking on UMA and then the peripheral BB10 aren't for you. I said UMA is coming, but have yet to see on any carrier and I am not 100% sure it is actually coming. I have not seen any documentation anywhere saying that Q10 or the Z10 are UMA compatible devices, so that shouldn't have been a surprise. If you have been told that it had UMA in the store while they were inaccurate.

  • BlackBerry Z10 battery charger Bundle

I bought a package of the Q10, but then 'abandoned' battery charger device for the Z10. Can I charge/use the bundle to load the Z10 and/or use it if the Z10 is low the power in use by plugging the charger Q10 in the Z10? I understand that the battery may not be inserted into the Z10 but I was wondering if I can use the "bundle" as described. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums, yes you can do it.

I read to use Static Asset Selecter I must to select the active by default. I do not see this option when I open the active tab at the bar - description.xml. I could delete all the items in the active tab?

Could you send me an example?
