• Impossible to issue cancel hba WWN-based rules

  In one of my groups, I have my HBA connected to multiple Sans, i.e. 1-port hba on the map goes to 1 san, 1 to the other. I take a san down for upgrades and replacement and to prevent any ODA I want to hide the entire San. I was hoping to avoid having to hide more than 100 MON on close to 20 hosts, so I started on the road to simply hide by WWN, so that I could make just 1 rule for each host. These are hosts 5.5 and 5.1:

  So I post this:

  base for esxcli storage claimrule add target t - r 200 r, - wwnn CF xxxxx - xxxxx Pei MASK_PATH wwpn

  claimrule kernel esxcli storage management

  Everything is good here and do a 'list' I can see this in the course of execution.

  However when I try to make the unclaim:

  esxcli storage base claiming cancel plugin t Pei MASK_PATH

  I get:

  Unable to find the plugin multi-channel with the name MASK_PATH on this host

  I've hidden by Lun before, but never anything else. I publish these commands properly?

  This particular host is 5.5U1

  I thought about it. I do it by vmhba. Not sure why I don't think this earlier. And it works just fine.

  You are on the right track, you will not see an option to boot from san, but sites that I just installed with these switches that I went through this same scenario for hours until they got it right.  I won't address the startup process because you see that the WWN has hit the fabric so that should be good.  Then, after adding the WWN name in a zone or a storage group, it is alllowed to joing the fabric.  At this time you must ensure there is a logic unit number in the same group so he can see it, and he needs to be masked when he sees it and sees it as LUN 0.  ESXi wants to LUN 0 and it is really picky on local drives are visible, you must eject for more security.  But when the LUN is visible, it will be visible on this screen here in respect of the distance, but just like a hard drive.  I bet that you do not use the Cisco's VMware image, I can't see what version you use, but download the Cisco OEM of VMware image.  After that I started to use with the vic card, my boot of san issues went away.   When your logic unit number is visible in her select a disk window just choose to install as a local disk.

• SCVMM and LUN Mapping issue

  Hi all

  We have C7000 blade Gen9 servers and manage through the HP ONEVIEW. We have installed HYPER V and in addition, we have 2 virtual machines running on that. We must create the Windows cluster to that. I therefore created a Virtual SAN Manager and assigned WWN to the virtual machine.

  When you assign the LUNS to the virtual machine, its not detecting not not the OS level. HITACHI V OPEN I added manually in the MPIO, but logic unit number is not visible. When I checked in the Device Manager it shows like device hidden in the server.

  Also I need a suggestion for the below,

  We have virtual machines HYPER v for SCVMM.

  Is it mandatory to have the Windows for SCVMM Failover Cluster in a virtualized environment?
  Also, have we not create HYPER V failover cLUSTER to manage the HYPER-V hosts in SCVMM?
  Cant, we manage the guest individually through SCVMM?
  If we all the Hyper-V cLUSTER, all guests will have 2 a throgh redundancy the Cluster FAILOVER and new to SCVMM. Whats is the best practice.

• issue of multpath

  I have a CF with 2 SP active/passive storage and my servers have 2 HBA.

  If I look at the strategy of multiple paths by default on one of the database created on a LUN, I see:

  Watch vnhba1:C0:T0:L0

  Watch vnhba1:C0:T1:L0

  vnhba2:C0:t0:l0 active (e/s)

  vnhba2:C0:T1:l0 active

  (E/s) active path is the path used effectively for e/s and standby paths are paths that can be used for i/o If the active paths fail.

  Does it mean the path active, but without the "(i/o)?

  And why this path uses the second SP on my active/passive storage?

  If I'm not mistaken... If you look at the WWN in the target, only one SP is used, but each port on the SP is active... Your vmhba1 sees targets with 60 and 61 in the name WWN (5th issue of the right) which correspond to the SPA. Similarly, your vmhba2 see targets with 60 and 61 WWN, which corresponds to SPB.

  (edit - also... both of these 2 ports are listed as an 'active' path to only one SP, yet only I/O active)

  You might want to think about changing your zoning so that each HBA can see each MS in this way, if you lose a switch or an HBA, (theoretically) not have a tresspass... It seems as if now that you put it in place so that each HBA sees only two ports on a single PC...

  Just my grain of salt and open to debate... As a validation test, remember to do failover tests...

  Is there a way to the cmd line, I can get all issues of wwn on the esx Server? I know mpath will do this, but there are 8 knots in my group and I was wondering if there is a way to do it?

• Appeal iPhone issues 7 more

  I recently bought the new iPhone 7 more.  Not only am I having problems with the LTE service, bounce back between 3 G and no service I am now having problems with call connectivity.  When you try to make an outgoing call, I get an automatic response from my carrier (Verizon) "it's Verizon, we are unable to complete your call at this time, please turn off your phone and back and try again."

  It is a known issue with the iPhone 7 and Verizon. Supposed to be Apple and Verizon are seeking him. It has been a problem since the phone was released. Do a Google search or search here on the forums for a temporary solution but not a cure.  But basically to stop the LTE oice and data into data only in the settings.

• iPhone 6 more hang freeze issues

  My iPhone 6 more guard suspended (gel) for the past 6 months, I have to reset the whole phone sometimes up to 2 times just to get it to work again. Been a loyal (including my entire family) custome since gen 1 iPhone, iPad, mac book. Am really disappointed with the quality now. Did not bring to the service center since the first day of the problem because I thought that was just a few bugs & was sure that apple will fix it, but after many update of iOS so far, the pesisit still problem.

  iPhone is more quality I've known, hope apple can fix this problem before finally losing the most loyal customers

  I created a document Pages using the Pages application on my macbook pro I downloaded then to iCloud Pages so that I can access it from any computer. The issue I'm having is that I formatted some of the text to have a black background and the text to yellow color. For the life of me I can't understand how to change the background color of text on the Pages of iCloud. I beginning to think that changing the background color of text just is not possible on the platform of iCloud, but wanted to put this out there just to make sure.

  Background (highlight) text color controls are absent in the Pages for iCloud, because it is a subset of Pages for Mac.

• External hard drive mounting issues on MacOS Sierra

  After upgrading to OS Sierra, I found that my USB3 drives, directly connected to my iMac end of 2012, turn off at startup. USB 2 disks are unaffected and connect properly. The only way to access my USB3 disks is to disconnect and reconnect every time I start the computer, then they are ok. I tried to reset the NVRAM, but it did not work. I found Os El Capitan until this issue is resolved.

  My apple TV was working until it was upgraded to the new update 10 TVos great.   I have a new iPhone 7 jet black, so far I'm in love. But yesterday, I noticed an annoying problem. The phone loses the network connection (cell to the & t) and he no reconnect, it will remain just it saying no service. I have to go in airplane mode and outside to force it to look for the network connection.

• Backup issues after upgrade to iOS10

  Dear users of Apple,

  I updated my iphone 6 more yesterday with iOS 10. Phone works quite well. But I have my phone backup problems. I usually back up my phone with my iTunes Macbook (Via cable and sometimes on wifi). But after the update to iOS 10 it seems that I can't back up my phone more. I don't know the real cause of this problem.

  1. I am not able to save my iPhone via wifi data in iTunes. (Previously it was not the case).

  2. I tried to back up my phone using the cable also. Also, I pressed "Trust" this computer, but I get this error message. Please see below.

  Also, I allowed my computer by disconnecting iTunes and logging back there. And yet I have the same issues.

  "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because an invalid response was received from the device."

  Does anyone know what this answer is invalid can be?

  Do I have to change the settings in my phone or iTunes?
