  In my tests with Qosmio I tried installing WXP Pro, but, some refuse to drivers to install and others just run Setup, but nothing happens at all.

  Example: It has no added value package available for Windows XP Home edition. This application that implements the features of function keys and other things.
  Some other manufacturers of portable makes available to their versions of Windows XP Home and Vista edition support sites but seems that Toshiba is ready to support only Vista.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  The full name of this package is; * Vista * value package and as the name says this package is only for Vista. There is no such thing as a value added for OS XP package!

  As you have probably not met the Toshiba support a high range of notebooks and on many series the Vista and XP are supported!
  If you do not take a look in the other laptop pilot areas. So please don t confuse other people with you comments.

  I visited the Toshiba driver page we found the drivers for Vista AND some drivers for XP. Other drivers simply do not exist. It seems that the F45 seems to be a very new series and possibly the other pilots, which will be released later
  Otherwise use the drivers directly from the manufacturer of the chip

  Hi all

  About two weeks ago, I finished customizing my new Toshiba Qosmio laptop, and I noticed that the top shortcut keys stopped working as usual.

  Them, I looked on various forums and sites and found no help. Well, I decided to restore the original installation of Windows from the recovery cd, and keyboard shortcuts work again.

  Them, I started to install everything one program that I use on a daily basis, thus, once installed the preinstalled VMWare 6.0 stop keyboard function.

  The strange this is that one of the keys still works as expected: the key running on neon led to the sound whel or media player browser.

  If I remove VM Workstation 6.0, the keyboard shortcut works again...

  Here, someone has an idea to solve this problem?

  Seems all these 3rd party applications and programs have a bad influence on the configuration of the laptop and the utility of Toshiba controls internal.

  I do not know how to solve this problem but it certainly not a problem of Toshiba.

  But wait; Did you use another tool similar to VMWare Workstaion?
  What about the own Microsoft tool called "Virtual PC"!

• How to set RAID 0 on Qosmio F45-AV413

  Hi all

  F45-AV413 have two hard drives, and, I think about to create a RAID 0 for fast disk access, but I found no option on BIOS for this.

  Anyone know a way to create this type of volume of disk on this model?

  Qosmio F45-AV413 seems to be designed only for the American market.
  I visited the Toshiba site we found useful information about the Qosmio F45-AV413 and RAID.

  This laptop is equipped with 2 SATA HDD, but it seems it does NOT support the RAID is why this option does not appear in the BIOS!

  I have a Qosmio F45-AV413 with two hard drives. I noticed that one is a common SATA (the one that contains the operating system), but the other is smaller (it's what I ve has noticed that I didn t take it out) is that the hard drive what is called a disk´ hard ´hybrid?

  I looked for more information on this found nothing but, with the exception of [this page | http://laptoplogic.com/resources/detail.php?id=82] where the guy teaches how to change the HD SATA for a more/better one. But no word on the other HD.

  Are the two HDs of the same type?

  Can it be replaced and implemented using the recovery discs or the recovery disks are waiting for the original model/size of the hard drives?

  I m not a Qosmio F45 owner so I can post only a few observations regarding the information and the details published on the site that you have linked.

  It seems that both hard drives are supported on the SATA interface.
  On hard drives is a little thinner and so it s mounted in the HARD disc enclosure.

  In my opinion, you can use different hard drives SATA 2.5 from different manufacturers.
  He should t be a problem.

• Qosmio F45-AV413 refurbished showing DMI.exe error when trying to restore

  Here's the problem:

  I formatted the original disc to install Vista in another language with my own Vista disc.
  After that, I couldn't do some drivers to work properly, so I decided to do a system restore.
  I didn't have the disc so I asked Toshiba for some DVDs. They send them to me and after insertion of the discs and choosing Toshiba utility to restore from the menu it appears a window saying error DMI.exe and some codes and the error "memory could not be read.
  After I pressed OK, it appears another window with this error "03-eeee-0000.
  After I press OK again. The disc is ejected and the computer turns off.

  I updated the bios to the latest version 1.9 and I changed the ram sticks with other ones that work well, but the problem persists.

  Searching in Google, I read that it may be something with the Toshiba DMI and it is fixed with a DMI update utility, but I have not found one for this laptop. Also, I read something about the original MBR who is not respected and Toshiba needed for restoration. I don't think it's OK, because I can install any OS I want with my laptop and I have to restore the original OS when I want to.

  So please, I ask to help with this problem.

  I installed the new * Toshiba value added Package for Windows Vista Version 1.1.3 * for my Qosmio F45-AV413 and function keys was arrested for work.

  If I don't go back to the previous system, there is no action that I can do to make the works of buttons again.

  I tested with Vista Home Premium which is installed with the product, tested with Vista Business from scratch, and none of them work as expected.

  Have you already tried to install an earlier version of the software function button on your system? I think the new version is buggy and if not already a newer version is released, you should have the old version until a new one comes out.

  Please check if the old version works, it shouldn´t be a big problem for the single download from the Toshiba driver download site.

  I have a Qosmio F45-AV425 and recently bought a title of HD-DVD (planet Earth). I tried to play it drive Toshiba HD of Pentecost, but video and sound playback where buggy (video and his sometimes gel, 100% CPU usage). If I update the player to version v4.32.00, but nothing has changed.

  My computer has the TS-L802A HD player - DVD with the version 6.0.6000.16386 firmware (21/06/2006). I not found any update for this drive.

  Last night that I've updated my Qosmio F45-AV413 BIOS with version "qf45v190" but, today, in the afternoon, I noticed that my laptop was so slow and it was overheating!

  I immediately went to reset Windows Vista, but instead, computer laptop completely off.

  I left the rest of the computer for a few minutes and it works again. After a few hours of work, he began to behave terribly slow and heat once again! I have reset and when I clicked on F2 to enter setup, the computer turns off...

  I'm sure it has something to do with the latest Bios Update!

  I found on the Toshiba page we v1.5 of BIOS for the Qosmio F45 (PQF43U, PQF46U)

  Here you have to choose your Qosmio F45 model and you should get all BIOS versions available for this series.

  Maybe it's possible to downgrade the BIOS to the earlier version.

  It s pretty cool that you post the log file but I doubt that it could be useful.
  To my eyes the CD/DVD drive is faulty or the CD that you used are not entirely compatible.

  I had some burning questions with my CD/DVD drive, but I could solve this problem by using a different CD and DVD from another manufacturer.
  I have read that many people recommend using TDK CD - R or DVD - R media.
  I checked these discs and my drive supports it fully.

  I m not the owner of a Qosmio so I m not sure but as far as I know it s not possible to update the graphics card on a Toshiba laptop. For the upgrade of the GPU, I can prefer this useful link:

  But why you want to upgrade? I mean the Qosmio F45 is the oldest not portable and the graphics performance should be good.

  After reading [here | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=103556] that there is a problem with the keyboard shortcuts no longer work after the upgrade to the 'Toshiba value added package' in * Qosmio F45 * models, let me ask you if someone have correctly installed the latest version of the software (1.1.7) and have no problem with the keys.

  Just a short comment: version 1.1.7 is designed and tested with Vista without SP1. If you use it with SP1, you may have some problems. To avoid this Toshiba has to offer the new version. This new version will run in the new images of recovery (Vista SP1). After that it will be offered on the Toshiba support page.

• Qosmio G20: Feedback speaker + HD DVD will not play

  I usually don't use the internal sound on the laptop it is normally plugged into my hi-fi using optics and a creative labs USB device.

  However, I am experimenting with playing a DVD hd through my TV using the hdmi output connection. The two DVDs, DVD player high definition HD Toshiba tries to play but nothing happens. Anyway back to the right question.

  I thought that, perhaps, the cause is that I had disabled internal sound, so I let him. However, when you start up Windows, I got your feedback loud and terrible (MOM had to leave the room). I had two times to turn it off by pressing on the top to move off. When feedback was going on the computer seems inadmissible.   First I delete information because, as far as I know, the G20 is not distributed with HD - DVD player, only G30 (not all). Because of this I will ask you once again: is this your Qosmio G20 has ODD HD-DVD and HDMI output on the basque coast port? If Yes can please write you exact model description (G20 - XXX)?

  I ask this because I tested the G30 friends with my HD-ready LCD TV and everything works perfectly. Picture on TV is brilliant and its really fantastic.
