Qosmio F50 - 10G CPU Upgrade

im going to get my laptop upgrade

Here it is:
[http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=1 055260 #0] (includes a PM45 Express Chipset)

also have this adapter (120W) [http://www.batterywood.com/charger/toshiba-pa3290e-3ac3-ac-adapter.htm]

After all, quad Q9100 is suitable for me?

additional question, my old cpu is P8400 (25W) but Q9100 is 45W TDP. Power increase (+ 20W) affect my laptop? (reach saturation point) or in any case (incompatibility of socket etc..)

and finally, if it is not compatible, you should be of down (it should be P8400)

Before starting to discuss CPU upgrade can you please check http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
Maybe you already seen this document but just for your info.

Please be so kind and tell us why you want to upgrade CPU? I ask this question because we are discussing here on mobile units and because of the particular and specific cooling system design these upgrades are not supported and not recommended.

Are the reason of laptop performance for your decision to upgrade?

    Can I get them?

    Thanks for reading

    Hello

It seems that Win XP drivers are not available at this time on the European driver Toshiba page.
I also not very well if the XP driver will be released in the future of m.

So do many laptops Toshiba are equipped with the same features.
That's why drivers from other series of laptop XP can run on the F50 series.

Try to install some XP drivers one of the series of portable which is equipped with the same features.
Unfortunately, but that's all I can say for now.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10G - Windows Vista 64 bits and drivers

    I use Qosmio F50 - 10g to end 20 days now.
It has 32-bit operating system on and I think that there is still no support for 64-bit drivers.

If I'm not wrong x 305 series have support of 64-bit drivers and configuring two laptops are similar.
I was hoping to create a 64-bit backup Dvd, but there is no 64-bit, if I'm not mistaken on my pc.

So any suggestions regarding the use of 64-bit on those computers drivers?
Or should I just wait for Toshiba to release 64-bit drivers?

    THX.

    Hello

It seems that, at the moment, only the BIOS and the BT stack was published for Vista 64 bit OS.
But I'm sure other drivers 64 bit Vista will be released in the near future.

So I would recommend waiting until the 64-bit drivers are online!

    Hey mate,

I have too many Qosmio F50 and you can change the option if, after hibernate or stand-by the account should be locked or not. As far as I know that this can be changed in power management.

About this window of Event Viewer, I never heard talk about this and my Qosmio F50 works fairly well with Windows 7. You have installed all the drivers for it? You have yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager?

I also used Windows 7 drivers, but did you download from the Toshiba page? These drivers are pre-tested and normally should work pretty well.

  • Qosmio F50-114 - to upgrade the disk HARD & 8 GB RAM

    Good day everyone,

My computer has only 1 320 GB HARD drive.
Can I added another an or I have to replace it with a new one? and what HARD drive I can use?

I also want to update the 8 GB RAM: How can I do?
    Toshiba F50-114.

    See you soon

To be honest I don t understand why you need these big HDD and 8 GB of RAM but I will try to provide you with details what's possible and what upgrade is not possible.

As you say the F50-114 was equipped with 320 GB HARD drive. In my view, a larger HARD drive is possible, but first you have to find a larger HARD SATA 2.5 drive.
I googled a bit, but the hardest are rare at the moment.

    Regarding the upgrade of RAM;
As far as I know this laptop supports the Chipset Mobile Intel PM45 Express.
According to the Intel 4 sheet series Mobile Intel PM45 Express Chipset 8 GB are possible, but it's maximum!

  • Problem with Qosmio F50 - 10G

Hi all, I've had this laptop for over 4 years now and the problems started about a year at the time where the laptop started to close shortly after throwing a heavy game.

Since then, it has progressed to the point that its closure when I run any game. A temporary solution I used was to disable the video card that has stopped closing down because the computer did not as overheated as before and so I resorted to games that didn't take a lot of graphics memory.

In any case, since the last week or so the laptop fan started making loud grinding and the roar of noise (change back and forth between the two). During the whirring noise, windows download hanged and when it goes back to the grinding noise the laptop becomes ok.

But overall, I observed a slowdown and the fact remains that my laptop is overheating and shuts down if I turn on the video card (Yes, now just turn on the video card is enough, games is not necessary).

Any help that the community can suggest? Thank you

Also, is there a guide somewhere on how to open this model so that I can try and clean the fan? I can't find a guide for this model anywhere.

  • Where can I find 64-bit drivers WLAN chip Atheros on Qosmio F50?

So I have a Qosmio F50, and I upgraded to 4 GB of RAM, I decided to format it and install 64-bit of Windows Vista. Everything seems fine, except for the wireless LAN. I was able to find 64-bit drivers for each component with the exception of the wireless LAN. It's a WLAN atheros chip, and I couldn't find 64-bit drivers for it on the Toshiba page. There are however 32-bit drivers for it, but they do not seem to work

Is there another place I can find these drivers? I tried as much as I can, but could not find something that works. And I don't know what the exact model of chip is no more.

  • Upgrade memory and disk SSD Qosmio F50-108

    Hello!

    After 3 years, I decided to upgrade my [Qosmio F50 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=1 055727 & DISC_MODEL = 1] new SSD and additional memory.

With a drive, I'm pretty well agreed the [Intel 320 120 GB SSD | http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/solid-state-drives-320-series.html], unless you recommend something different maybe?

But I have the problem before deciding what size memory to take. Now, I 3 072 (2 048 + 1 024) MB DDR2 (800 MHz), and CPU - z says it runs in mode dual channel with timings 6-6-6-18(on memory stick it says 6-6-6-12?). I watched [Patriot DDR2 SO-DIMM 4 GB 800 MHz | 787 http://patriotmemory.com/products/detailp.jsp?prodline=3&catid=33&prodgroupid=59&id= & type = 5], and he said just in time of latency case 6. I have not found on the internet what timings there so I have a question:

If I buy 1 (one) memory stick (Patriot) and replace it with 1 GB stick in laptop, old 2 GB + 4 GB new work in dual channel, or do I have to buy 2 x 4 GB (Patriot)?

If this does not work, you rather 6 GB with channel single or dual channel 4 GB.

    Thanks for all the answers!

    > I pretty much agreed with drive, Intel 320 120 GB SSD, unless you recommend something different maybe?

I think it shouldn't be a big problem with the compatibility because the HARD disk controller supports the SATA interface and the SATA SSD drive should also be compatible.

    > If I buy 1 (one) memory stick (Patriot) and replace it with 1 GB stick in laptop, old 2 GB + 4 GB new work in dual channel, or do I have to buy 2 x 4 GB (Patriot)?

Dual Channel does not require two execatly the same memory modules.

So, theoretically, you can use a module of RAM 2 GB and 4 GB RAM module.
I advise to use 4 GB of RAM in A slot and 2 GB of RAM in slot B

But the two modules must supports the same speed (800 Mhz), otherwise the module more quickly would be pointing down.

  • Qosmio G40 - 10Z - possible CPU upgrade?

What processor can I put my Qosmio G40 - 10Z? I couldn't find a list and the motherboard is a "motherboard Toshiba" without a template or similar.
I would like to change to a better processor, a quadcore would be well, is - it possible?

My Windows 7 tells me to change the battery, but the battery is ok. Google says its due to Windows and could be solved by the BIOS updated. I have the newest
Official home page. There is no latest BIOS available?

    Thank you

    Robert

    Hello

I doubt that the CPU upgrade would be possible. You should read this article:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

This error message is it exactly that you get Windows 7? Normally you get only a low battery notification, you need to Exchange or connect the power supply.

  • Qosmio F50 - 108 b - issue of upgrade hardware

    Hello!

I have the Qosmio F50-108 b. I am considering buying the new processor for my pm45 chipset, but I can't find information about my support for the cpu bios. I stopped the Q9100... its very very fast. The chipset support, but what the BIOS? I think that to give a chance to the ddr3 memory, so I buy two Privateers 4 GB ddr3 1333, which I suppose to work normally on 1066... Maybe a little more if I can clock the FSB: P.

BTW I have successfully recorded video (9700M GTS) of 540 clock 1325 shader 799 mhz to 690 memory memory clock 1700 shader 1040 Central. Just be sure to clean your computer from inside well so that the heat will not stop you: P

You know more about its use at these frequencies? I hope the laptop takes care of everything? Advice please on future updates to this subject :)

    > The chipset support, but what about the BIOS?

This is not mentioned on any page of Toshiba which I could find in the internet ;(
But I guess you would have a good chance using a CPU that is taken in charge by the chipset, but it's my personal opinion

In addition, I found this doc from Toshiba:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

  • How to upgrade the Qosmio F50 with SSD

I want to improve my Toshiba 50 F with a disc SSD 80 GB (Intel).

Can anyone recommend an SSD, I would use Intel 80 GB.

Do I need a Firmware Upgrade or update for VISTA?

    Thanks for help

    Hello

Qosmio F50 taking care of a SATA HDD controller, you must use a SSD drive that supports a SATA interface

But the SSD is not much different from a common HARD disk and so it should not be necessary to update any firmware.
Usually, you need to install just a SATA driver to recognize the SSD drive.

  • Qosmio F50 - FN keys does not work after Windows 7 upgrade

    Hello

After installing Windows 7 my 'FN' key doesn't work anymore. The big problem is the upgrade to Windows 7, I turned off my touchpad using "FN + F9". Now that my FN key work and I cannot turn my touchpad.

Is there a way to reverse without using the "fn"? And is there a way I can fix my FN key? Accessible from start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > accessibility does not work. Is somehow connected? What can I do?

Feedback and assistance is greatly appreciated.

  • Qosmio F50-126 not supprted for Windows 7 upgrade?

I get really angry with Toshiba and Windows 7 upgrade option.
I'm really excited about the upgrade of my Qosmio F50 - 126 to Windows 7 from Vista Home Premium.
But after doing a little research on issues related to the upgrade, I burst into anger.

I went to this link [http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm] to check if my phone is supported, but because I paid a lot of money for it I have it MUST have.

But guess what... IT IS NOT!

In addition to this... It says on the website that the notbook not mentioned will get "limited support"!
WHAT? my 1999 MACHINE VA GET LIMIT dollar taken in CHARGE for WINDOWS SEVEN!

That I am, I guess to do... buy another Toshiba or sue to get the money and buy a new one?
Does that mean I can't run windows 7 will be of all drivers runnin? WHAT SHOULD I DOOO DARN?

    Hi mate

Guess what? I have an older A210 home
I installed Win 7 on it and everything works fine!
As you can see it the A210 is not listed as a supported series Win7, but it should be a serious reason does not install a Win7 on it?

I didn t find official drivers on the driver Toshiba page but I could perceive my own hand, I used tools of free hardware diagnosis, which helped determine the installed devices
I took the time to learn all the drivers, but it wasn't a big problem

Thus, even your laptop is not listed in the page, you will be able to use Windows 7 and will be able to collect the necessary drivers
