Qosmio G10-133: Reinstall Qosmio recovery drive.

I'm trying to reinstal XP MCE and Qosmio Player. I know that Toshiba has installed a new motherboard in my laptop which had an Intel 915 PM Chipset Update and a graphic design different controller nVidia Geforce GO 6600. They sent me two new drives Qosmio Player Update V4.0.3 - V4.0.4WW cd-rom and cd-rom Qosmio Update Tool. I recently installed Vista, everything was fine until I went to use the USB key and found no driver was installed. The system worked fine since Christmas, but I tried to use all the USB devices until recently, and yes I know that Toshiba does not support VISTA on this laptop.

When I use the recovery disc Qosmio I always get a message saying not enough disk space 100 MB minimum is necessary and it is abandoned. I even tried reinsatlling XP - MCE came with the laptop, I get this day with the recovery disk, and when it restarts I get the blue screen of death, and all he continues to make attempts to restart.

I managed to get a family XP Edition stand-alone version on the laptop with no problems.

What to say dude
With regard to the problem of driver USB;
Windows XP uses the own USB drivers and any 3rd party USB drivers don t exist.
What you need to do is to install SP2 and upgrade the OS to the latest state; Install all the patches and patches available on the page of Ms.
Don't forget to install the page Intel Intel chipset driver!

With regard to the question of Qosmio Player;
Qosmio player must be installed to the second partition and this partition must support about 200-300MB. I recommend you create a larger partition for the Q-player.

Please check this!

    Hello

You n don't need to buy an original Toshiba HDD each different manufacturing HDD will work if it will be compatible with the standard of substantive law.
I guess that the G10 is capable of managing the 100 GB maybe 120 GB hard drives.
The laptop supports an EIDE interface and therefore, you should use HDD s supporting the IDE (ATA-5) increased.

  • Qosmio G10-133 - Install Qosmio Player and using the recovery disk

    Hi again.

My g10-133 was the mother of uypgraded installed by Toshiba that there are back and forward in his first year with problems of graphics chip, so they installed the motherboard with the 6200 chip chart.

Until very recently, I installed Windows XP to one of my dead computers that I've ever had anywhere with my original recovery qosmio disc such that it has been damaged. I recently bought an other G10 as I wanted to replace the keyboard and display and it came with disks,

I put in a raw player. I used the recovery of the Qosmio player disc, and this indicates that it is complete. I then installed the Toshiba Recovery disk that has Windows MCE on it. (I have now three original copies of the present). But when windows go to start, the computer gets past the Bios and then quickly goes to the blue screen of death... I tried to use break so that I can read this, but it does not work. I tried more than a windows disk, but not joy. I also had special instructions for Toshiba, which has the Qosmio updater on him, and also another drive which has some additional drivers.

So far, I've tried all sorts and whenever I go to start the laptop, it crashes. The Toshiba recovery disc has two methods that an automatic and a step forward on (which I don't have a clue how to use). The automatic, which does not implement the normal windows installation, but evokes a Toshiba says... and it goes from 0% to 100% and ends each time.

If I use my Windows XP disk from another pc it install fine. and the laptop is fine until it reaches download Windows SP3, which seems to slow everything down.

I would like to install the Qosmio to style factory if pos.

What you need to help your service provider which has replaced the motherboard. A long time ago I heard talking of this and what I know is that the machine must be ready for use: This means service must update the BIOS, verify compatibility of memory, RAID functions are not the same, Bios, EC/KBC and DMI must be updated and rewritten. The laptop owner must be willing to work with new hardware components.

If I m remembering well this new mainboard has different chipset and recovery image that you are trying to install has really bad drivers inside. With other words: after the Exchange system motherboard drivers and the Qosmio Player require an update.

You know the whole process is a bit complicated, but, as far as I know, Toshiba service provider must send you instructions for Qosmioplayer update and instructions for the update tool.

At the moment I can't help you. Please call again and ask for help. If you will not get any help it let us know.

    Hello

First of all, it is not advisable to use other graphics drivers. You must use the Toshiba drivers.
I don't know why it happens, but it would be very interesting to know if it happens on the Toshiba recovery image.
However, you can also try to update the BIOS. Maybe it helps, but before starting the procedure to upgrade the BIOS, you should check all details on the update and do not forget that you are using the good BIOS.

  • Qosmio G10-133: where to find NVIDIA GeForce FX Go6600 Vista drivers

I have a Qosmio G10-133 with the motherboard upgrade which I believe has the Nvidia GeForce FX graphics chip Go6600, not the old motherboard which had the chip 5900.
I'm trying to find a recommended driver for this chip when using Vista as an operating system.
I know that Toshiba is no longer supported this discontued model and certainly do not have the drivers on their website.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get a suitable driver, or even if there is a.
Site Web de NVIDIA simply States that the computer manufacturers portable invidiual adapt drivers for their chips and do not provide a driver.

    Any ideas?

My understanding of the Toshiba doesn't support Vista drivers for the Qosmio G10 The Vista seems to be supported since the Qosmio G30 series

I read several threads on the compatible graphics driver for Vista OS and Web site _ www.laptopvideo2go.com _ provides some nVidia drivers.

But note; These drivers are not tested and so you can install and use at your own risk

  • XP update demolishes my Qosmio G10-133 screen resolution

I'm running a two years old G10-133. Great and reliable machine. The reason why I bought it was because he has big screen resolution/sharpness for MS Word and Outlook emails texts.
For various reasons that I do not download the MS Windows updates that are often available in a pop-up at the start (hint that they may bring more problems than they solve). In any case I have recently (despite running Norton Security all the time) picked up some kind of malware villain in Google which diverts approximately 50% of the links google after a search and then sends to an another search engine with links.

The Norton firewall and windows not picking up these or clean them up, so I tried the free Spybot to get rid of them to no effect.

Finally rang Toshiba Europe support and the guy he recommended that:

    (1) do not use Norton. Waste of time and money and slows down the machine. Download the new freeware Windows Defender instead.
    (2) do all the XP updates
So I started with all the windows updates (charges), including Internet Explorer 7.

Guess what, after restart the computer is a bit slow grumpy, but worse still, the screen resolution (sharpness and clarity of the text) has deteriorated in Word, Outlook and Explorer.

So I called Toshiba support again (I'm on a contract of three years warranty) and they could not solve the problem or propose something and seemed surprised that happened. We checked the things of common screen resolution in control without result panels.

Then I gave up, train of the restoration of the system before any updates.

The computer is now stable and the resolution of screen back to where it was.

    Issues related to the:
    (1) can I get XP and 7 EXP updates and still get my old (better) screen resolution.
    (2) what to give up idea good/safe Norton for Windows Defender?
    (3) any ideas on how to prevent the diversion of Google links?

    Any help much appreciated

    Hello

1.) it's very strange and I have never heard bad display quality after the installation of the updates from Microsoft!
I think you should try to contact the Microsoft support and maybe they know something about this strange behavior.
But have you tried to update the graphic driver and/or BIOS?

(2.) it is true. I installed the Norton System Works several months ago and my unit started very slowly with preinstalled Norton Antivirus.
I removed and use and freeware AntiVirus application called "Antivir".
I don't want to use the MS Windows Defender. But I'm not saying that this application is bad.

    (3) I don't know what you want to do, but I don't think it has anything to do with your Toshiba laptop ;)

  • Car power inverter to power a Qosmio G10 - 133

Is there any adapter compatible with the G10 car & if so could you provide details - I've read the thread relating to the car adapter F10 but it couldn't find the car adapter there are referenced.
    I read in http://www.laptopbits.co.uk/Database_files/Mains_Invertors.htm
that power inverters are preferred & intend to buy a Powerpack of Halfords 200 that can power up to 300 watt like laptops. Is it better to a car adapter & what happens if a danger to my laptop is associated with the use of this way to feed the G10 133

    Hello

Well, in my opinion, you should use the recommended Toshiba part. The other party which is not designed for this device can damage the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F10: Driver Installation does not detect the wireless network card

I wonder if anyone can help before I phone supported again. My motherboard is dead and ASP replaced and recovered my laptop qosmio F10. Since having back, my wireless card did not work.

Windows detects a "network controller" whenever it starts and gives me the opportunity to install it. I tried to install it by navigating in the 'tools and utilities' records CD rom for folders and subfolders of "Wireless network driver" and it still does not detect the card.

I also tried to install using the cd rom web gui and selected the 'Pilot wireless network' link and then tried to install it. It opens a dos command prompt and try to install but comes up with the error "failed installation.

I ran the customer service and they told me to run the qosmio recovery/then recovery of product/recovery of qosmio and again...

I still don't the card wireless not yet installed. This happened to someone else?

I tried already shot the drivers from the web, but with no luck... If a representative of customer service with the help of good technical knowledge that would be great, or if someone has encountered the problem too and he had fixed to the give me some advice...

    Thank you very much

    Sean

    Hello

you see the card wireless as an unknown device in Device Manager? If this is not the case, perhaps that the card was not properly installed after replacing the motherboard.

Sorry I have no other idea.

    Good bye

  • Install a second hard drive in a G10-133

    Two questions for you...

I would like to install a second hard drive in my G10-133. Specifically, I'm looking for a second disc 80gig (MK8026GAX). Does anyone have experience of installing a second drive like that?

Secondly, I know where to buy the disc. But, someone has any advice on the carriage-drive itself (ie. the piece of kit that holds the drive in place in the Bay)? Specifically, where can I get one?

    Everyone applauded.

    Hello Andrew

In my opinion, you can build a second HDD, but the two HARD drives must have the same size.
As far as I know the 80 GB HARD drive is compatible with your device.
In addition the second HDD must be set as a slave HARD drive. You can set the jumper in the correct position.

    Best regards

    Hello

As usually, Alcahest said that most of the features are small features and bug fixes.

  • How to reinstall vista on the recovery drive D?

About 2 years, a Sunday, my hard drive crashed and I was totally novice in time (as much as now, more I forgot the documentation provided with it, my "old" laptop Gateway) so I called a computer repair place listed on Craigslist (no classes please) and said that they could fix and I should just bring him.  Well, I need desperately so I took ("in" is a private home).  Hours later, I got a call that it has been fixed.  They did replace some hardware and the computer was working again, but they gave me the 'good news' that he had thrown an installation of Windows 7 free of charge.  I wasn't happy, but as I quickly bought a new computer with Windows 7 on it anyway, I learned to love it.  With a new laptop, I don't use it much anyway.

A hinge fails to my 'new' HP laptop and a COMPUTER technician who is a friend is fixing to me.  In the meantime, I have to use this "old" laptop.  He began to act up and I did a system restore, which did not help.  I have recently met a disc of the operating system for this 'old' computer and it's a good thing because little time after the system restore, I received continuous messages of MSE I wasn't "authentic" Windows  It got really teed OFF... some good news-free-install, right?  I certainly didn't use software counterfeit... the only inconvenience factor is more than enough for me to come back on the right path.

I decided to re - install my real honest to-God-Vista from the bridge of the operating system disk included.  I never had anything like the front and of course, when I was asked where to put the installation, I wasn't sure and so I put it on the C drive, thinking (just think) that things could spill over into the D recovery drive.  He does something like that.

I tried to go through the steps I used to re - install Vista but it doesn't seem to want to pay attention from now to the OS disk when I use F10 at startup.  What can I do to get this on the recovery disk?  I think it should be there.

I've already replaced all sorts of files, etc. from the backup I made before I did the re-install, if that makes a difference any.

Please give me some instructions to get my OS on my D recovery drive files.  Thank you.

    Hello

You can't put it on the recovery disk (Partition); end of the story.

Your recovery Partition on your hard drive was photographed during the production of your computer by the manufacturer.

If it is destroyed, removed, etc., damaged you cannot replace / reinstall or repair.

    You have the DVD anyway.

    See you soon.

  • Recovery drive D

I accidentally formatted my recovery drive D on my laptop Envy.  Is there a way to restore this drive?  I did the recovery disc, but want to restore my drive if possible.

    Hello

Unfortunately, the only way to recover the recovery Partition is to perform a 'Factory Reset' using your set of recovery disks - this procedure will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  It will also recreate the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Kind regards

  • Recovery drive

HP ProBook 450 G0... win 8.1 pro... recovery drive is red, but I do not see the files it contains. 14 MB of free space of 299 MB... I can't even resfresh or reset cos it gives me this message: "some files are missing. Your installation or windows recovery media can do.

Original OS was win 8 and I upgraded to 8.1

    Help, please

If you perform a factory image recovery using the recovery usb media, the current recovery partition will be replaced by a new one.

Be aware that a factory image recovery will come back to your laptop in its delivered State. This means that all the software that you have added since the introduction and all your data will be deleted. So if you want to go this route, I strongly suggest to copy all of your important data to an external drive and find all of the software and license keys) you want to reinstall and it is ready for use.
