• Qosmio G25: Dust seems to accumulate behind my screen?

  I use my Qosmio G25 for half a year now and over time, it seems that dust has been implemented behind my screen. It's not pretty to look at because it weakens my screen contain the dark spots. In fact it is not behind my screen, but between the screen and the protective layer that covers.

  I have beared to live with it, like two months now, but recently, to my surprise that I even found an eyelash taken down there.

  Does anyone have the same problem as me? Is there a way to remove the protective layer and clean the strainer, cause that it becomes a problem.

  There is not really a way to do so without possibly damaging the LCD. If your computer is under warranty, I advise to take it to your authorized service provider and to replace the LCD screen. I remember the dark spots in LCDs are contained in security LCD which makes replaceable under warranty. Otherwise, you can try to clean behind the protective layer, but I don't think it will change anything.

  I also get the blue screen of death (Qosmio G25) and without apparent reason. I just watch a HD channel for an hour and it just hangs at random while the TV was going on. His crashed a few times before that too. But the strange thing is that I never changed anything, I just watched TV and went to the blue screen with the code everywhere.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  AFAIK the Qosmio G25 was designed for the American market.
  All laptops that end in 5 are for the U.S. market.
  However, it is not easy to say why it happens.
  I assume you are using the image of Toshiba's own operating system.
  I checked the driver Toshiba U.S. page and found a few drivers.

  You can check that you have installed driver TV tuner driver and BIOS versions.
  Maybe a BIOS update will help you.

  But the blue screen of death is usually due to the fault of hardware or software serious dysfunction.

  Glad you stuck with this issue cuz I pulled a real boner trying to fix. I was totally distraught on the main menu of * two * UNDO and REDO. If you remember that I tried to install the menu shortcut for UNDO them and REDO and totally rejected the idea that they might be under Edit on the crazy Main Menu which of course, they have been and worked like a charm. THANKS again man, you are a true hero!

• Qosmio G25: Restore UK disks can work on machine USA?

  I attended college in the United Kingdom since last September. Has decided to make use of the Easter hols to start on my Qosmio G25 (G30 to the United Kingdom). Unfortunately restore 2nd disc (3rd if count you the disc from the Qosmio player) has a read error.

  I've been in contact with a very nice toshiba service representative, but he says that records UK will be dependent not on a machine of USA due to the identifier is different (CMOS/processor or m/Board).
  Another that ask my brother to ship the original for me disks (I travelled with the backups that I did), the only thing I can think is to try software retreival data on the failed drive and burn a new disc.
  I'm off to a friend to do once I have validated.

  If anyone can shed some light on how to use a disc of UK to recover my system, assuming that it is a question, it would be great.

  I don't really know if it will work. I heard that the American units have support different recovery check and if the drive is not the right installation is not possible.

  I'm not very familiar with the Qosmio G25 because this device was designed for the American market.
  I'm not 100% sure if the internal MIC is available on this unit.
  But if the internal MIC is available so normally, it should be possible to enable this device in the Panel of control under "Sound and Audio device.

  The other side, you can use the external mic.

  I have a huge problem with my Toshiba Qosmio G25:

  My LCD has 2 lines of pixels blocked, one pixel wide, going from top to bottom. Before we continue, I want to point out that my computer has not had any physical trauma of any kind and is usually used as an office.

  Everyone knows about this problem? Is there any miracle solution that I can handle it on my own or the only solution sends on laptop computer for the service? How the problems like that managed, toshiba will replace the screen or that they will completely replace the computer? I'd much rather prefer rather to solve this on my own with your suggestions as opposed to a long wait on the service.

  All of my school work depends on my computer and I would be helpless without him for several weeks. Please if someone has experienced this problem and it is resolved, I'd appreciate that they could share their experience and knowledge.

  It is not easy to say if this happens due to a malfunction LCD or even faulty graphics card. You can check its operation with an external monitor to see if the problem persists.

  In any case I put t believe you can do anything on your own, especially if the graphics card or the LCD is faulty. The hardware must be replaced. I know it's very annoying, but I recommend you contact the service in your country. Save all your data on USB and try to finish your work on some PC friends.

  I would like to ask questions about the (Tv) button in the qosmio G30-116. Do not I have it on my blue (AV) button on the keyboard.
  I tried to play station 2 on the G30-116 but it doesn't work unless through media center which is really slow and bad.

  My friend has a G20, he bought from the United States, and it has a button "Tv in" and when it connects (play station2) through D-video or video, simply press that button, then there a live inistent Tv that is faster than the media library.
  As far as I know because in media center, the game will be very slow?

  G30 suppouse to be better than the G20. Why there is no Tv-in button? Where we can press on and play or watch the sky or anything like that, speed of the media center boring?

  Why should I use media center to play (play station) while G20 users WHOSE!
  I contacted toshiba and they said your are going to ring me tomorrow or the day after, but if I found that this Tv-in support dosen't G30 series!

  Could someone correct me if I'm wrong please, this question is open for all the qosmio but especially for those with the G30.

  I put t found information about the Qosmio G30-116, but on the Qosmio G30-134.
  But I guess that these two units are similar.
  Check your user manual that was preinstalled on your laptop.

  However, the Qosmio supports the monitor button. This is the second on the right.
  The Qosmio player should start. There, you can choose between TV mode, CD or DVD. I think you need the TV mode.
  You should also check your right connection. I suppose that you use the right cable and the composite port (monitor of).

  Well, it s a strange question.
  Try to disable RAID in BIOS. Then try to install Windows Xp.
  After this procedure, if the operating system is running, select the RAID and install the drivers for the operating system.
  I m not 100% sure it works because I use only the recovery CD to recover the device, but you can try it.

  Ive Tried: uninstall, reinstall the Cd/Dvd driver, using the brand different cd burning programs, activating/deactivating the drive. Help! Please

  In my case the removal of the upper and lower registry filters helped get the CD/DVD is working again.
  You should try this:

  -go to the Device Manager and remove the drive from the list CD/DVD
  -Start the registry using the regedit command and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
  -restart the laptop.

  Like I said it was very useful for me. Maybe it helps you too.

• Need of replacement of CD/DVD for Qosmio G25

  I have a Qosmio G25-AV513. This is very similar to the G20. It is out of warranty. The Dvd/rw drive is a carpet * a 845 s. The trouble started just after a year of purchase. After a complete system restore and update the reader has a very unpredictable reliability with optical media. The brands it has previously burned without problems now are not recognized or fail with the error "power calibration".

  I went through the administrative service, various burning software settings, revising flash's 102D. Various resources on the net show that the other laptop brands that use this model reader also suffer these problems. I'm therefore looking to confirm a suitable replacement disk. I have taken note that the master/slave jumpers may be hard together.

  If you are looking for a replacement, that I fell on the Panasonic UJ - 85J. Can anyone confirm this or another drive as a replacement right? Although I would like to keep away from the mat * a readers.
  Pointers would be appreciated, it's not fun drag an external drive.

If I remove the structure of the event and the survey button in the appearance changes as expected.

  System Restore will not do anything

  Contact the manufacturer of the laptop and getting them to send you the xp recovery disk to reinstall xp if you do not have a xp cd

  If you have not a cd of xp do a clean reinstall of xp
