  In my case the removal of the upper and lower registry filters helped get the CD/DVD is working again.

  I have a Qosmio G25-AV513. This is very similar to the G20. It is out of warranty. The Dvd/rw drive is a carpet * a 845 s. The trouble started just after a year of purchase. After a complete system restore and update the reader has a very unpredictable reliability with optical media.   Try to disable RAID in BIOS. Then try to install Windows Xp.
  After this procedure, if the operating system is running, select the RAID and install the drivers for the operating system.
  I m not 100% sure it works because I use only the recovery CD to recover the device, but you can try it.

  I just did mine 01/01/2016, installed a new WD 500 GB HDD black on my laptop ASUS K52F, took my DVD 4 restore disks and restored to Win 7 Home Premium, more 10 Windows, which is sitting on my old HDD in the trash. I'll stick with my Original OEM OS and never improve to WIN 10 times.

  NOTE: The only time the restore disks do not work is when you replace your motherboard.

  I'm not 100% sure if the internal MIC is available on this unit.
  But if the internal MIC is available so normally, it should be possible to enable this device in the Panel of control under "Sound and Audio device.

  There is not really a way to do so without possibly damaging the LCD. If your computer is under warranty, I advise to take it to your authorized service provider and to replace the LCD screen. I remember the dark spots in LCDs are contained in security LCD which makes replaceable under warranty. Otherwise, you can try to clean behind the protective layer, but I don't think it will change anything.

  I also get the blue screen of death (Qosmio G25) and without apparent reason. I just watch a HD channel for an hour and it just hangs at random while the TV was going on.   • I am running Windows 7 for packs SP 1 or SP 2 does NOT solve my problem since neither one works with Windows 7.  Is there a way to search for this MUI (Multiple User Interface) missing file?
