Qosmio G30 broke down

My Qosmio G30 crashed last night. It worked fine all day.
Restart a blue page appeared but went so quickly that I couldn't read.

Tried to restart in normal mode, crashed again. Running in safe mode has made the virus check, looked at the Manager of devices, all seamed ok except pilot missing Sigma such audio and video running in the profile full genetics and update of these Tosh help system. Still nothing!

The only thing I have changed significantly in the last two weeks is adding Skype and a webcam Logitech (drivers only), then uninstalled Skype as it kept freezing.
He said: none found sound card. This laptop is just inside the extended warranty.

I am now at the limit of my knowledge and don t know what to do next.

Hi rachel,

Next you need to do is to backup all your data to some external as USB - HDD or DVD media and perform a full restore of your system. That might solve your problem.

After recovering, you must first install all drivers and devices and it would be good to update all of your existing drivers. This is possible by visiting the [Download Drivers Toshiba site | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp] and download the drivers from there.

If this doesn't help, then call a technician or communicate with some service partner chartered for a checkup of hardware for you´re still in warranty and they will perform the assessment / repair under warranty.

  • Qosmio G30 - software very slow loading

    I have a Qosmio G30 P650 unit and had since 2009. Two weeks only noticed during the bars running under the windows xp loading Win Xp logo slows down and it takes a long time to load windows. He had no other choice but to re - install the software using the recovery CD.

  • Qosmio G30 freezes at startup of Norton Internet Security 2008

    Norton Internet Security 2008 will freeze my computer because soon, it attempts to load and the only way to do is to restart the system by pressing the on/off key.

    My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio G30-177 (model No. PQG32E-02G022GR) with Vista Ultimate and pre-installed NIS2007. I have no problem with this NIS2008 version on my other laptop (Qosmio F10 - PQF10E-02300JGR, WinXP MCE).
    NIS2007 works well on my G30 and I have no problems at all, but more recent versions of NIS seem to be in conflict with my system:

    1. I am able to install and run the new version, download all updates and adjusting the settings. Maybe, a couple days later my computer freezes after start in exactly when the NIS tray icon appears. For a few seconds there is simply no response of the system at all and the LED of my laptop show that any HD activity has ceased. After having been inactive during those seconds, the cooling fan will start to operate at maximum power, creating a huge noise that I never experienced before, not even while the CPU was operating at 100% for a while due to other programs. Force a reboot, that's all I can do.

    2. now, this time, I rebooted my laptop successfully even once (took a few attempts) and it all of a sudden not freeze. Then I disabled the firewall and auto-protect at all times, so there was no freezing at startup and I just had to enable both the firewall and auto-protect after start manually. In order to avoid the gel again after the reboot, I always disabled NIS before shutdown. For one or two days of workaround has been quite successful.

    3. all of a sudden, after one or two days, this work around will become useless, because the system begins to freeze again at the time of the icon is displayed. In this case, restart has no effect at all, and NIS will continue to freeze at startup. I also tried to prevent form from NIS to ccApp.exe run automatically at startup (administrative tools > system configuration > "Startup" tab). It's successful and my laptop is able to start normally, but if later I try to start NIS manually, it will freeze again.

    I had this problem since NIS2008 just came out, so I thought that at the same time an update Windows or Norton may have solved the problem, but this weekend I gave another NIS2008 trying without success. I'm pretty sure that the problem is not caused by other software than Windows or Norton, because I also tried to install NIS after a full system recovery, so I've only preinstalled NIS2007 and Vista on my laptop. I use Norton removal tool and follow the instructions to uninstall before attempting to install the new version of course.
    My last hope was that the version of NIS2009beta somehow would not freeze my system, but it does. It does not matter if I try to start 2008 or version 2009beta, the problem is exactly the same.

    What really motivates me almost crazy is the fact that NIS works perfectly for a while, then needs enough small workaround, and then after some time completely refuses to work. In these two days I do not change system settings, install or uninstall programs or doing whatever it is that I felt might conflict with NIS...
    So far, I have no idea of the solution and have again use NIS2007.

    Someone knows how to fix this?

    To be honest I don t use the Norton internet security because it slows down the performance of the laptop and he needs too many resources.
    I used the NIS06 and after several months of use I removed it from my system for the reasons mentioned above.

    I put really know what might be a problem with your Norton Internet Security but I guess its associated software question maybe there are a few compatibility issues with vista and NIS08. Who knows...

    In my opinion, you should first check the Symantec Web site for more details.
    Maybe these questions are mentioned somewhere in the FAQ section and maybe some updates or patches are available.

    It's not easy to say why the laptop s OS crashes.
    It is maybe something wrong with the s operating system installed?  :| who knows.

    I think you should install the OS preinstalled Toshiba and it should test then

    If the laptop still crashes the single RAM modules need to be tested.
    I think you could blow an and could test the laptop using a single module of RAM.

    For this I am sure about the instability and not much choice of graphics GeForce GO 7600 card. The driver for Vista which has been updated several times of Toshiba (and after a year as buying by NVidia for Vista - until that moment only for XP) seems to be like another flaw of Toshiba.

    Also have problems with scratches on the screen. The framework is too soft (high and low) and "technicals" told me I was putting something heavy on top... which I did not, but anywhere: in this case it can scratch it if it is to stay on the table.     The year last January or February my friend give me his newest Qosmio G30. I ve used a month. I've install my favorite games and I also used it to scan all my movies of course done.

    The laptop has been pre-installed with Vista, but we have also installed Windows XP Home edition on the second partition to check the performance in the two operating systems. WXP works perfectly and after some personal configurations that Vista was also good working operating system. I recorded a hours of movies, he coded and burned about 20 DVDs. So I hope you believe me that this laptop has been uninterrupted on the race. Encoding is not short and portable process runs almost 24 hours a day.

    After a month of use I didn't noticed anything negative and I can say that the Qosmio G30 is a fabulous laptop. Unfortunately a bit expensive for me.
    I don't know what you're doing with expensive products, but I always buy the extended warranty to avoid a risk of material damage. I don't want to pay for costly repairs. For my new LCD TV I paid about 130 euros for 2 years warranty. Now I don't what will happen over the next 4 years.

    Thus, everyone has their own way how to use laptop and to discuss the system collapse, lose the work during treatment, slowing my productivity is not so easy. Who knows what applications, freeware or shareware you stuff use? Who knows what make your system unstable?

    I use my Satellite 17 nearly 2 years of work and private things and I always use original preinstalled Vista. Why I don't have this kind of problems?
    This with scratches on the screen is too strange for me. I wonder how this can happen. After closing the cover of the display, the screen is protected and there is no chance to make scratches on it.

    One last thing: maybe I didn t understand you well, but what is your problem with the driver updated, updated BIOS or corrections? Each laptop manufacturer offers different updates or upgrades to improve performance, better security, or functionality of the software. Toshiba do this too and this process would not present yesterday, but for years.

    Sorry mate, a side that I understand your wish to discuss all of these negative issues but just blame laptop manufacturer for every stupid thing is not understandable for me. According to me, you know a lot of people say that PC 80% disorders are not result of bad hardware/software, but because nobody who are sitting in front of it.

    What to say at the end? If possible, buy extended warranty to be on the safe side, try to have the right operating system, from time to time do the backup data, make sure that the laptop is placed correctly on the desktop to avoid overheating and I'm sure you'll use your Qosmio for a long time.

    What do you mean "stop automatically"? The machine has been shut off instantly? Alternatively, windows closed down by itself?

    If it turns off instantly, then it might be the accumulation of dust in the heat sink causing it to overheat.

    You should test the RAM before reinstalling Windows. You can download the bootable Memtest on www.memtest.org CD ISO

  • Qosmio G30 - fan was blasting and evil

    Can anyone help with a frustrating problem... How output sound on HDMI in Windows XP MCE?

    I place the video on HDMI output using * Fn + F5 *-I get a perfect image on my HD TV. However, the sound always comes from my laptop speakers.
    I have all the latest drivers and BIOS downloaded from the Toshiba site.
    I entered the settings audio and Sigmatel and tried everything, in particular by unchecking + 'Activate Dolby Digital Live Support' + within the Dolby tab which is recommended in a support forum.
    Nothing works!

    Once there, you click on "Support", then "Download Drivers".

    Specify in the drop-down list what brand/model of laptop you have and the operating system.

    What are your problems? I use Gentoo on my A100-912, looking at material you have same processor (Core 2 Duo), same (Intel 945), even wifi chipset (Intel 3945ABG), same GPU (Go 7600)...

    I see no reason why it shouldn't work. To Go 7600, you must use the binary drivers, LAN to e100 module (Intel PRO/100 network driver).

  • Error during recovery on Qosmio G30

    I'm trying to recovery my Toshiba Qosmio G30 computer laptop (PQG31A). At the end of the restore process (15 seconds to finish), I get an error code 10E7160017 and instructions click OK to shut down the computer.
    I put the boot on CD/DVD first sequence (before that I didn't that I loaded the recovery CD now button 'C' and the same error came in halfway through the installation).

    My BIOS version is 1.4. I tried to install latest BIOS (v 3.60) last, but the program downloaded from the toshiba Web site States that my computer is not supported.

    Any ideas? Help, please!

    About you update the BIOS;
    You must first select the G30 series right from the page of European driver of Toshiba.
