Question about the settings of the mouse on my Satellite A105

By changing the current definition of the parameter 'magnetize' to my checked unchecked to i.e mouse pointer active (and then selecting 'Apply' and 'OK') the function "align on" works OK initially

.. However, after restarting my laptop 'magnetize' is disabled and the box (in the settings) returns to be deselected.

I tried to fix the problem at the level of the registry by changing the SnapToDefaultButton value to '1', but the problem comes back even. I also installed Microsoft driver for the external mouse I use.

I also disabled the touchpad, which none have solved the problem. I think it could be a setting on the laptop that is causing the recommended turn off whenever I restart.

Could you please advice?

My machine features:

Toshiba Satellite A105 (I bought it new)
Windows XP Edition family ed 2002
Synaptic touchpad V6.2 (PS2 port)
Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical mouse

Hello

As far as I know, this option is part of the Microsoft mouse settings and it is really strange that something like that happen. If you use additional software for external mouse there is possibility of a kind of negative influence on the standard preinstalled stuff. Perhaps the same option persists in software pre-installed and both come across each other somehow. Sorry, but on this path it is not easy to say what can be the solution.

Have you had this problem before using the external mouse?

Good bye

  • Questions about the record HDD Recovery - Satellite L350D

    Hello everyone!

I have a Satellite L350D with Windows Vista.
I'm in my mind to reinstall.
All my data from the two partitions are saved with the exception of a folder on my drive E Data "HDDRecovery" who shouldn't be modyfied or deleted, or whatever.

I wonder if all the data are removed from the hard disk due to formatting, how does appear that this same folder HDDRecovery remains safe on the hard drive?
Or is that the hard drive is not really formatted and data on my hard drive are always safe and hidden?

    Thank you for answers!

    Hello

I'll try to explain how it works.

Original Toshiba designed for your laptop recovery image is recorded on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery. This image should be used if you want to install OS and have the original state factory.

For this installation, you can use this recovery image of the second partition or by using the recovery DVD. It is recommended to everyone to create this recovery DVDs. Have you created?

If you use recovery DVD the whole HARD disk will be formatted and all data stored thereon will be removed.
If you start the HARD drive recovery process only C partition is removed. This folder HDDRecovery is important if you only want to use HARD drive recovery facility. When you want to use the DVD only you can remove (I do not recommend you to do).

I hope I could help a little, but if you have any other questions please let us know.

  • Question about the extended warranty on Satellite A300-1EI

    Nice day.
I need to some information and help please.
I bought a laptop around mid September 2008 in Saudi Arabia. (Jarir Bokstore). The store had a promotion whereby you get the standard one year international warranty, BUT they give you a further extension of one year (so 2 years in total).
I intended to have bought an extended warranty for a period of three years. The seller told me that I can activate my warranty 'gift' and later buy another warranty extendable to a total of 4 years international coverage.

I signed the guarantee and it appears on the portal of warranty toshiba.
However, when I returned to the store to buy a new extended warranty told me that you cannot register more than one warranty.
I found it strange and therefore did not buy the extended warranty still additional. I need to know if it's actually true, or I'll always be able to buy an extended warranty again. Seems that I meet a brick wall, when I ask the salemen... .thought I would try the forum instead.

I need to get information from a reliable and trustworthy source.
The other news, they also gave me, is that they are waiting for news from Toshiba regarding the same subject.

    Kindly help.
I thank you and looks forward to a response.
    Lukman

    Hello

AFAIK all Toshiba laptops are covered under warranty for one year (12 months).
If you would register your laptop on the Europe of Toshiba page you would get more than one year warranty; total 2 years warranty.

    > The store had a promotion whereby you get the standard one year international warranty, BUT they give you a further extension of one year (so 2 years in total).
The additional year of warranty is not a gift from the shop. You will get this additional year warranty always if you would register the laptop. It has nothing to do with the place where you purchase this laptop.

So now, a few words about your warranty extensions.
First, you will need to register your laptop on the Europe of Toshiba page.
This registration will allow the second extra year of warranty. (as mentioned above)
Now if you want you can buy even more extended.

Toshiba offers various packages and in your case I would recommend to check this Toshiba Europe page for more details:

  • Question about the common Modules on Satellite Pro A60

    HI - first post!

Looks like it's a bit a 'common' (see what I did there;)... too bad..) fault - but what driver file has these "common modules"? There is nothing in the list for the A60 Pro Sat that says "common Modules".

Can someone point me in the right direction? Or is it just a case that they've got to be in the order of some? Will I have to uninstall all then repeat? Can I ask more questions?

Thank you very much in advance,
    Phill

    Hello Phil

Common modules is a kind of base for the other Toshiba application designed tools and utilities, and it must be preinstalled in a first time. Is very important that the common modules is not available for each laptop model. Why is that I can't tell you.

I checked Toshiba download page and I didn t find listed common modules for your device, but I found the instructions facilities document. If you want to install the operating system on your own please install things in the right order.

If you have any other questions, please write again.

    Good bye

  • Question about the feature WLAN in Satellite M40x-119

    Hi all

I have a problem with the network without wire/feature (?) in my laptop. Probably, I have drivers wrong with that, and I don't know what kind wireless device I. I lost my reboot CD :(
How can I check what is there?

BTW: when I try to connect wirelessly with information: 'turn on the wireless network device' with my knowledge, everything is on, but no doubt I'm wrong :(
Any help? If you need more information please ask me.

    Thank you very much

Make sure the switch without physical wire at the front (or side) is enabled.

Check that the wireless adapter is enabled in the Device Manager

Go to the section of the Toshiba Driver/Support Web site and select your model in the list, then download and install the latest driver for wireless LAN.

  • A few questions about the CD of restoration Satellite 2410

I put a new HARD drive in my Satellite and I recently put a partition on the drive (c: and d :) readers. If I run the recovery cd, it reformatted the whole drive as a single unit or can I put it to format only the c: partition. I really don't want to format the two sections that I have much irreplaceable data on my d: partition.

    Cheers for any help.

    James

    Hello

Yes, it s possible to copy only on the c: drive. You must choose expert mode when you start the recovery. With this mode, you have access to the tool of ghost, when an option is specified that is called "copy image" (it looks like :)). There should be some options like:

-copy the image to the disc
-copy the image to the partition

and so on. But the important option is (especially for you) 'copy the image of the partition' which is the option to copy the data on the system disk.

I hope I could help you...

  • Re: Question about the display driver for Satellite L850

So, I bought a Satellite L850 as twe weeks and I am yet to know which driver do I need.
I mean, it's better is one that comes with Windows Update or do I need to download it myself? I can watch videos and play games pretty decently while I don't mind so far.

    > I mean, it's better is one that comes with Windows Update or do I need to download it myself?

The Toshiba driver page driver is usually the right one. Updated the and designed for the use of the laptop.
But if don t have problems even while playing the game, don t change. You know: never change a system running ;)

  • Question about the laptop battery and satellite L510

I have a Toshiba Satellite L510 and find the battery moves a bit - like 2mm so be it.
It is on the edge of the laptop, I suppose, but I was wondering if there should be no movement at all?

    Hello

On my two laptops from Toshiba battery cannot be moved, but the battery is locked and cannot be moved or deleted.
Your laptop satellite battery is too locked?

By the way: when you use the notebook on the desk, this movement is irrelevant and cannot have a negative influence on the power supply for computer laptop battery s.

Almost ALL of the toshiba machines were "wired" so graphics card if you don t one machine of 30,000 dollars for weld and a LOT of know-how for reprogramming BIOS as the guys at toshiba @ Japan then take your thoughts on the upgrade of the VGA.

  • Question about the recovery partition

    Hello.

I have a question about the recovery of HARD drive partition.

If I do the operation to clear the hard disk option in the wizard it will remove * all * or it will keep my partition recovery in this way I can come back later. I want to know because I would like to put on a different OS.

I know he said he would, but caution in the PDF, I found it says that on a normal recovery too (that he would remove each partition) and I'm a little confused about how the recovery actually worked.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest I n don't know what you mean exactly with this option to erase.

In General, Toshiba Recovery disk will wipe your entire HDD to restore factory settings correctly. This means that if you start from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen, everything will be removed.

In addition, the recovery disk doesn t create a recovery partition. It is not available. Disk copy just the files on the second partition in folder HDDrecovery to start an installation of HARD drive recovery.

  • Re: Several questions about the recovery of the Satellite L750 features

I have several questions about the recovery of Satellite L750 features available to it. Any help and answers would be useful.

    (1) when I started the laptop first, he asked me to create a recovery CD incase I need to reinstall the operating system. But he also said that he built in the recovery partition, so therefore, I have to make a recovery cd or not?

    (2) will be the recovery CD is exactly the same as the recovery on the system partition?

    (3) is the partion of CD or recovery includes all the integrated software pre-installed with the laptop?

    (4) also in the device manage management it shows watch partion recovery but it is empty, is it true?

    (5) in the second partition (drive D) system, he has a record with what looks like the recovery of files and folders. Is it safe to move/remove it?

    Hello

    I'll try to provide answers:
1 - to ensure that everything works perfectly you don t need these discs, but if something goes wrong with the HARD drive you will not be able to do anything. When you have the recovery DVDs, you will still be able to install the recovery image and once again the factory settings. So my advice to you is: create these discs as soon as possible. Use only on DVD-R media and buy products of high quality (TDK or Verbatim).
    2 - Yes.
    3 - Yes.
4 - No. Don t be confused with this.
    5. in a first time create restore DVD, and later you can do what you want. I put t know which files mean you but don t touch anything before that of the recovery disks to be created.

In the past, many people have been experimenting with the structure of HARD drive and partitions and later was surprised when installing disk recovery HARD has been damaged. Don t make the same mistake.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • A few questions about the use of data and Cliq

I have the cliq, however I chose to not get 3G (so I bought full fare). So I have a few questions about the phone and the use of 3G / 2 G/Edge:

1 - is possible to disable completely the 2G / 3 G/Edge? I know you can switch between them, but are anyway just tell the phone to stop using them altogether since I'm not subbed to the service?

    2. when the update takes place, I guess we'll have to reconnect motoblur and etc, but if I don't have 3 G will I have motoblur connection problems after the update? Or he keeps the latest wifi settings so that it would connect to wifi to connect. When I first got my phone it was not a problem b/c I had 3G for the first month.

I hope that makes sense, thanks!

To stop all the data, I would like to download an application called APNDroid. He cut them all down. When you log on to blur you have 3G or WIFI doe this without getting a timeout error. During the process of setting up your Blur account, you can press the menu button and set up your wifi to work, this will connect you to Blur and your phone will be connected to the blur. If I were you I would be rethinking to do a data plan since you are really losing out on most of your main features of phones. It's your choice, however.

  • Recently bought a laptop computer; A few questions about the offer Upgrade to Windows 8

I have a few questions about the Upgrade of Windows 8 offer for new computers.  I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S855-S5268 of amazon.com, which came with Windows 7 Home Premium.  Toshiba already has a beta version of drivers and utilities for Windows 8 for the S855 on their Web site.

    (1) I bought my laptop in July of this year, and I've not yet registered for 8 Windows Upgrade offer with Microsoft.  Am I still eligible to receive the upgrade, if I sign up soon?
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?
    (3) if I will be able to burn the installation media, I'll be able to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 8 (which I'd rather do, I have a lot of backups of my data).  I am aware that I would probably need to provide my product key Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM during the new installation, because it is an upgrade and not a full version; This isn't a big deal, because my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM product key is stuck at the bottom of my laptop.
    (4) my current copy of Windows 7 is activated by seeing my BIOS (I have a traditional BIOS, not a UEFI).  If I had to switch to Windows 8 and decide then I'd rather back in Windows 7, for example, a few months later, I'll be able to do that (I burned recovery of Windows 7 with the Toshiba utility disks, which I did), and Windows 7 will continue to activate by seeing my BIOS, even after the installation (and later remove) Windows 8?
    Thank you very much!

Yes, the registration period is between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

Yes, the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 will allow you to create a bootable DVD or you can grab the ESD file and save it.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

Then follow the instructions that will be provided on-screen to cool your PC.

As long as you have a recovery disk which you should create or use the construction in the recovery partition, Yes, it will self activate.

  • Consider purchase of Wacom Cintiq 27 HD Touch - Questions about the tactile feature in Photoshop and Lightroom

I'm considering buying a 27 HD Touch of Wacom Cintiq monitor. I have a few questions about the two programs Adobe and their use of the 'touch' feature - Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5.7 running on Windows 7.

1 problems related to touch a feature in Lightroom and Photoshop CS6 and 5 resolved that you see on the forums of Wacom a year ago?

    2. If so, is there sufficient value gained through the tactile feature in Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 to justify the $500 price difference between the Cintiq 27 HD vs Touch HD? (I realize that this is a subjective question based on the abundance of its cash).

    3. I intend to stay with CS6 as long as possible to avoid a monthly subscription, BUT I wonder if buy the Touch HD can provide additional key features in future releases of these products that do not exist currently. (It is a pie in the kind of sky in question).

    Thank you!

    Kent

Support for Photoshop Touch is added by CC 2014.2.2.  However as the Pro Intuos Wacom tablets with touch can be used with earlier versions of Photoshop and the Wacom Tablets Configurator can custom features can be used with Photoshop touch tablets.  I use LR but I don't know that the same thing would be true for her. You can configure the setting for many applications. The device driver knows which application its interfacing with and uses the parameter set for each...

I have disable most of touch when using Photoshop.  The main reason why I have a Tablet is Photoshop Brush tools. Like Eraser, clone stamp, etc, nothing is better then a pen when it come to create the layer mask.  For most programs, I always use a mouse and I use the keyboard, the mouse and the pen with Photoshop...

I never wanted a Cintig I do not have my hand between my eyes and the work. I'm not an artist.
