Question links to administrator privileges

I tried to upgrade to 8.1 windows and a banner popped up and said I need to log on to an account with administrator privileges, but I'm on the single account and when I checked it said that my account was already the administrator, what should I do to be able to upgrade?

Hello

Uninstalling Windows Update KB2871389 and then put it back solves the problem for most people who have tried.

You can uninstall it by going to programs and features and by clicking on "View installed updates" at the top to the left. You will need to scroll the list to find it. Then right-click on it to get the option uninstall.

You can also disable security 3rd party programs...

There has been problems.

Every time I change laptops, do a reboot of the system or any work on a file, I get locked out my files

    Hi James,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

I see from the description of the problem, you want to know how to disable the administrator privileges on all files.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. We are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

To resolve the issue with deactivation of administrator privileges, I need more information:
    1. what exactly mean you by "I get locked out of my files?
    2. are you logged in as a standard user or administrator?
    3. are you referring to the administrator user ID and quick Email?

If you are referring to the administrator user ID and quick Email, try the following steps and check if it helps.
    (a) open user account control settings by clicking on Start button.
    (b) then click on Panel.
    (c) in the Search box, type uac, and then click on change User Account Control settings.
    (d) drag the bar of never notify.

Note: You will not be notified until changes are made to your computer. If logged in as an administrator, programs can make changes to your computer you know on the subject.

Note: User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

Aware of the Windows 8.1 update I logged on my account (which represent the highlights of settings I have administrative privileges) has sailed to the store windows and clicked on the download tab Update button. I just replaced with SSD HD failure and made a successful recovery of original Windows Recovery HP USB key 8. Now let me turn to 8.1 (and eventually to win 10). • How to remove administrator privileges in one program?

How to remove administrator privileges in one program?  I opened by mistake a program when he asked "do you want to run the program as administrator RHIs?

I did rspond in the positive, and I can't load the program with the pixelations and enlargements of the screen.  Other than these specific issues, the program works,

but it is too large, graphically, to work with.

    Hello

    1. What is the name of the program you have running with administrator privileges?

    2. what version of Windows are you using?

Example Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    3. What is the problem you are having with the program?

Note: Some basic features of programs manage and perform tasks that may affect the important system files, where the prompt to run as an administrator is displayed to confirm the action. However if you do not want to run the program in administrator mode, you will not be able to use the full functionality of the program.

Please follow the below link to remove

Administrator mode starting a specific program.

    a. right click on the shortcut for the program / locate the specific programs of the programs files .exe file. Choose Properties
    b. click on the Compatibility tab

    c. at the bottom uncheck the box "run this program as Administrator" under the privilege level

    d. click on apply and ok

Once this option is unchecked the program will work in administrator mode when every moment of execution.

  • Start Administrative privilege

I want to uninstall some elements to start on my computer but when I do to run msconfig I can uncheck the boxes, I'm not there, but when I hit the button apply he says I have to have administrative privilege and I AM the administrator and the owner.   Help, please!  I'm not tech savvy and I'm slow, like I had 4 races but can help you!  I got 15 to 20 useless items here and I am V E R Y slow
    Thank you
I tried this 5 times in the last 4 hours and on both accounts I am the admin for both

I bet you have a HP printer, because there is an HP PML driver that produces this effect of nuisance. It is only a nuisance and you should still be able to make your changes of msconfig, and they should stick. However, if she is really bugging you, you can watch this:

    http://www.pchell.com/support/msconfig_access_denied_error.shtml

Since this is only a nuisance, I wouldn't bother with fiddling around with the registry to 'fix' this problem, however.

    But there is another question.

Msconfig is just a diagnostic device. As a general rule, you should never use it to prevent programs or processes to start automatically at startup. On the contrary, you should do the following:

1 use settings of the preferences of the program itself to ask him do not behave this way (that is, always start each time you start).

    or

    2. If you never use this program and you do not plan to use this program, simply uninstall using Add / Remove programs in Control Panel.

After the back if you have other questions.

  • How do I allow users without administrator privileges install fonts?

I need allow users to install fonts without administrator privileges.  Googling landed a few eccentric tools, but this isn't an option... I can change the entries in registry, file & directory permissions, use Windows commands in batch scripts, etc. but I can not use any third-party downloads.  In addition, just save them to the police for the session cache is not enough... they should be able to install fonts in C:\Windows\Fonts directory.  It's OK, if they can not uninstall a font, allowing that could remove a font that Windows requires.

  • Problems with the Touchpad drivers and printer without administrative privileges.

Original title: my drivers are slowly disintigrating.

Hi, I have a Toshiba running Windows Vista.  Lately, the pilots were wrong.  My mouse driver is "undetectable", so I can't turn off the option to click the touchpad, and my printer driver not working or the other.  I tried to reinstall my printer software, and (even though I have administrator privileges on my login account), the driver will not be installed, indicating that it must be done by an administrator.  I have checked the computer of viruses and have found none.  What should I do to fix this?

    Hi KateGreen,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your printer?

You can try to uninstall the touchpad drivers and try to install the driver using administrator privileges.

    Step 1:

    Uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers.

    a. Click Start, point to settings and then click Control Panel.

    b. double-click system click on hardware and then click Device Manager.

    c. click on the PLUS SIGN to expand unit

    d. click twice on the device driver.

    e. tab driver, click on uninstall

    f. download the latest drivers from site Web from Toshiba.

    g. right-click on the installation files and select run as administrator to install the drivers.

    Step 2:

You can also uninstall the drivers for the printer and install the driver with administrator privileges.

  • Windows 7 Admin account does not have administrator privileges?

    Hey guys,.

I'm having a very strange problem here. Everything I do on my computer needs now administrative privileges, otherwise it will not work properly. I'm unable to open iTunes without them because it says that it cannot access the program folder, but if I open it with privileges, it works perfectly. Whenever I try to pin a program to the taskbar, clicking on the "Pin to taskbar" button does nothing. Again right click on the shortcut and select Pin to Taskbar does not work. I can't download any type of files on Google Chrome; nothing happens when I try to record anything.  Chrome is also impossible to record all new cookies as well, and I am also unable to watch Netflix instant Streaming due to a Silverlight issue. Flash work, however.  Whenever I try to delete all files, or move files, in my "Documents" folder, he said: "you have to give administrator privileges... blah blah blah." It worked perfectly when I got the computer, but it seemed just not to work a few weeks ago.

I have no idea of reversing what is happening on any any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi ImBakinBacon,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

    Method 1:

This can occur if the administrator account is corrupted.

You can try to create a new administrator account and check.

    Create a user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

    Method 2:

If you are unable to create user account, thenyou, try to disable user account control and check if it helps:

    Step 1:

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result

See how can I change the behavior of user account control by using the slider? :

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

    Step 2:

You can also try setting the default Administrator account and check if the problem occurs.

    a. click the Start button, then click all programs followed by accessories

    b. in the menu accessories, click right on the command line option and select'Run as Administrator "."

    c. If you have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled, you will be asked for permission before the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

    d. in the command prompt window, type the command net user administrator / Active: Yes and press ENTER.

    e. close the elevated command prompt.

    f. log (in the Start Menu) and you will see your new administrator integrated next to your current account.

    g. click the photo icon display built-in Administrator account and connect to it.

    Step 3:

If you are not facing any issue, then try to create a new user account and verify.

    Check out the link:

    Fix a corrupted user profile:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

If the problem is resolved, then try to disable the default Administrator of the following account:

NET user administrator / active: No.

Also turn on user account control.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Error: Access denied... Administrative privileges may be required.

I am trying to solve a problem with an application (Trend Micro, some files were corrupted), which requires that I have crushed some corrupted files.

Whenever I do, I get the above error message.  Error: Access is denied.  Cannot create [filename]. Administrative privileges may be required.

I am the administrator on this computer, and I believe that I have administrator privileges.  I just upgraded to Win 7, I had this problem on Vista.

So, how can ensure me that I got really full administrative privileges?  Create an administrative user, then delete me?

Thank you very much for the help.

    Hi Markb56,

I suggest to create a new administrator account and check if that helps.

  • Loss of administrative privileges

Three days ago I had an episode of blue screen and the computer off without apparent reason. I was surfing on the web for info on the saga of the NFL for the year. The computer took his time to reboot, and as has happened a few times before I get a little note saying that I had a crisis and if I wanted an attempt would be made to find out why. I don't have. Everything seemed OK until I went to remove a program that was not working properly and I was told that I didn't have the credentials to do so. I could not do much since. I tried to run * Cleaner, Spybot Search and Destroy and we tried to restore to an earlier time. I can't access the restore cannot run msconfig, are unable to safe mode on the startup until cannot change or add the use of names, etc. I was not able to run the Malware bytes or any other program anti-malware in safe mode. CC and Spybot S & S do not work properly. When I look at 'properties' in the users file it says I am BOTH with all the privileges, but it happens. I'm about to hammer this machine into oblivion with a hammer and mail back to Hewlett Packer parts. Suggestions of others and the more rational would be very appreciated.

Because finally heard form you I have disconnected all drives and even printers and can't in safe mode. I tried the F8 key and several other than links and I stay locked. everything that's happened has disabled CCleaner and Spybot find and remove as well. I can't run msconfig, or do anything else that requires administrator privileges. I'm trying to figure out Trinity Rescue Kit and windows Password Recovery tool to see if I can approach it that way and get my privileges. Then I can remove programs and get cleaned up.

    Greetings,

It is now January 19 and I get since Seahawk Championship game. Fortunately, I solved my problem by using the Trinity of password. Here's how and here is a small tutorial that I used toguide me:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=AsV4mzurr6U

Interestingly, when I arrived at the Stadium featuring accounts, he showed an administrator account protected by a password that had never shown up on top of my screen and my account, also with a password, but I didn't do it password protected when my problems began. I removed the two passwords and restarted. Two accounts jumped upwards, a named Administrator, and one with my name as before. Both are now the administrative accounts, which allows full access to the computer. He behaves badly you can use the other to shape. I cleaned the computer and removed several programs, and now is running as it should and much more quickly. I don't know whence the passwords. I suspect a virus but scans with several programs have not found anything.

I was afraid to go into the bowels of my computer, but if you follow the instructions carefully it's a piece of cake and it was a great find. I hope this helps someone else, because I think that I am not alone with this kind of problem.

Also thanks to Microsoft to provide forums like this one, where brilliant and helpful people volunteer their time to help those of us a bit more disputed.

  • Speech recognition profiles while running a program with administrator privileges.

My question is: what voice profile would be a program that is required to run as Administrator allows to refer to my voice.

Basically, I'm running as a normal user with no administrative privileges. I use a program called VoiceAttack that "must", "Run as Administrator". So whenever I run VoiceAttack, I need to enter the administrator password to start the program. I ask because I noticed I had to re-enter my registration for VoiceAttack when I went to run as usual "Run as Administrator". Would this mean that he will then use the recognition to the speech of the Admin profile, or to use the current user profile. If I run VoiceAttack and a word like MSWord editor and try to dictate, they are / can be radically different to represent what I'm saying. I want to train the right profile for the accuracy of the recognition the most.

Yes, use more, I mean use it for daily activities. Write emails, opening programs, etc. Also, just play with it! If you need to fix something, say "correct that" If you just said, or ' correct * word * "if it is somewhere else in the document. He will learn from this mistake in fact and is unlikely to do it again. For more information (and help the computer you understand as well), making the speech recognition tutorial. I really find it very useful. It works in the background while you talk could cause problems like unwanted things being typed and programs opening/closing randomly.
