question of codecs

Im trying to convert videos, what codecs is the "rocket" as best?

AVI is the one who will end up on the "rocket" when you use the Sansa Media Converter. But you will probably need to use a different conversion program first to get it is compatible with the MSC.

  • change default audio codec

    Hello.

Just a simple question about codec audio default on SX80 (TC7.3) H.323 call. Is it somehow possible to change the type of codec to alaw ulaw G.711?

    Thank you.

    Marcel

I don't think you can change the default value and still have the other optional availalble.  However, you can use a filter Capset(2) to restrict the use of a particular codec, so it is not getting used to everything.

  • Capabilities of Cisco SX80

    Hello

I have a few questions about codec SX80:

1 the SX80 does support annotations?

2-if it's not and Samsung DM75D smart screen is tied to her, the SX80 will be able to pass the annotation generated on the screen at the other end?

    3. without the Multisite License can hosts it a conference video codec or not?

    Thank you

The SX80 does not support annotation.

The Samsung DM75D card show he has a video that seems to be a loop of it is entered or what is displayed on the screen (not too sure about what the loop is of however). So, it would be possible to send the annotation of the screen in the SX80. If it's a loop that is displayed on the screen, I got becareful to not accidentally send the output SX80 on itself through the DM75D, that is if you use it as a video-conference.

Without mulitsite, you have point to point calls with another person, if you want more, you have to have on the SX80 multisite or welcome the Conference on an external MCU or telepresence server.

  • No sound with Dolby Digital and MPEG-2 4:2:2?

    Hello

I tried several times to encode a video file in MPEG-2 using the Media Encoder CS6 with Dolby Digital Stereo audio and with the 4:2:2 profile in the video tab. However, the generated file has no audio on it and reads with just video. Once the 4:2:2 file has been converted to a different format, audio feedback, so I know that there is audio in this file, just for some reason, it won't play back.

    I use Mac OS X v10.7.3 with Media Encoder 6.0.1.31 (CS6), running on 8 GB of RAM, Intel Dual-Core i3, 3.06 GHz.

Also, until someone asks questions about codecs, I was able to read AC3 on my machine, so this isn't the issue. Is it maybe a bug?

    -Christmas

    Thanks Noel for close inspection.

Well Yes, the audio is there, but some players may not play.  It seems that the CS6 SOUL that prepares the different audio connector for MPEG2 multiplexed Dolby as SOUL CS5.5 on which there was no question on the same format.  This question was tabled in our bugs and system under investigation for the reason of this change and the solution.

  • Simple question on a Cisco/Tandberg C20 codec

    Hi guys,.

I would like to ask your advice on a question, one of our customers recently raised; Here's the short story:

After that his ISP set at level a GK Radvision, customer knew no video, on its C20s, multi point conferences (video was successfully sent well).

After an initial diagnosis, the customer said that the question can be put in the C20 non acceptance/negotiation QCIF video Protocol (used in Radvision and other old stuff eventually to join the Conference).

As a solution, ISP has suggested to activate via SSH (command API) specific C20 (QCIF) Protocol (which is apparently not enabled by default... According to the ISP support)

Now, I know, C20 already supports QCIF and has to be without having to activate it via the specific shell commands!

... Besides there no reference in the documentation of the API C20 on a specific command.

What I suspect is that from time to time, an old codec ISDN connects to the Conference (perhaps as a first candidate) and somehow requires the MCU to negotiate some weird codec leading to no video (... Indeed, we saw through a troubleshooting session, conneting that theree different IP partecipants and we have not had any problems at all!).

Could you please let me know if I am mistaken and C20 accepts indeed default QCIF? ... If Yes, please could you me the command to allow it?

    Thank you very much!

    -Andrea

You're right C20 QCIF support in the default configuration, and no need to add a special command for him to allow.

Just for example, below is capset(2) terminal of C20 redefining this as video can be receive and including QCIF with multiple video Protocol.

Although using QCIF with C20 is little lose capacity C20 power video treatment, but interesting to understand why the software upgrade of Radvision GK introduce one-way video problem.

Application of C20 log will definitely help to identify or at least limit the first cause of this.

  • I guess this is a question about the codecs?

Hello gods Premiere Pro potentially useful and thank you in advance. I'm on a timeline and Google is not useful.

What follows is on Premiere Pro CS6

I'm doing something that expected to be simple. I know it's possible. For reference here is one of the 1 million examples of what I'm trying to do (this video means not much before you read the rest): burst into starring Me Lzzy Hale - Lindsey Stirling - YouTube

Specifically, I have a video on 5 and a half minutes long (same length as the one above).

The original files (taken using Dxtory / Lagarith codec), before they get exported by PP (below, left) are clear and legible. The exported with the so-called-lossless Lagarith codec (below College) is almost half-decent, but still well below the standards my goal. The 'YouTube HD 1080 p 29.97' H.264 (below, right) is pitiful and unusable. Note: These screenshots are unpublished but drawn from a larger image.

My question is simple: How can I get a 5.5 - minute-long video of (or very close to) the quality of the picture below left of Premiere Pro on YouTube? The video I linked above (professionally done) has realized this, and I'd like to do this too. On that note, how does a long video of 2 hours of crystal clear quality Hollywood perfect 1080 p fit in a 12 GB file, when exporting 30 seconds of my (very basic) folder with sports extreme inferiority of codec Lagarith one half a GB file size? It is a size of 1 GB / min, which would add up to 120 GB for a 2 hour long movie, ten times the space Hollywood takes half the quality.

The second major problem is the following: The rate decreases significantly when the video is exported, regardless of how often I put, and regardless of what codec I use. I need good video as the video linked to above, and as what is in the original files.

    Orig.PNGLagarith.PNGYouTube 1080p.PNG

OK, so many questions. Let's go through them. As you are reading this note be sure that you have used a "Preset" without making any changes. And used the wrong preset for your media. Or so it seems. Stay with me and I think I can get you where you want to go. Please don't take offense to this. It's an explanation a little cheesy and unless you studied it a little, this may seem odd.

I do not understand why you recorded at 1280 X 1080. The format of 1.5 pixels is not something that I've even seen registered before. Maybe you just saved the wrong sequence? Or actually record you like this?

Try recording at 1920 X 1080 (assuming that your monitors are of this size and you want to export this size). And save a bit rate constant and use square pixels (1:1). If you can't save in this way, let me know and we can work through what you need to do. But as is the case, your sequence indicates a pixel that is not square, and you ask the software to create pixels square out of it. The quality suffers when you do this. Once you save it like that, create sequence you do a right click on the imported media and selecting new sequence of the clip. This way the sequence will perfectly match the media.

On my PC, when I was only 1920 X 1080 monitors, I had to record the whole screen and then I found myself flush all extra stuff at the top and bottom, then I manually created the sequence of 1920 X 1080 and a black bar at the top and bottom. Now that I have 1920 X 1200 monitors, I don't have this problem. I can record my subject to a perfect 1920 X 1080.

Then, choose a frame rate. If you save at 23.976, export to 23.976, 29.97. If you want to export to 29.97, then save it like that.

Now, to set the encoding settings. I don't remember when the bug appeared or went, but you eventually use in the bug of 2-Pass VBR. Use a 1-Pass VBR and inflate your bitrate over 20 MB/s.  Set the target for 20 and the maximum to 25. The encoder will use what it needs to do the job. Just give him the authorization by placing at 20 and 25. The 1920 X 1080 image size requires really more bits to describe the action correctly.

If you have a lot of movement in a video, the distance between keyframes, executives with all of the information, as opposed to reference information, should be assembled more closely than all three seconds or more. How often you use, put the keyframes that close together. 24 or 30. The current setting of 90 is fine for most things, but not fast action.

Try all this and come back to discuss the results.

    -Steven

  • Mastering questions 5.1 (it is not a codec problem)

    Hello

I have some major issues to master sound for my first student production in Premiere Pro CS4 5.1.

This isn't a question of RTFM. It is also not a codec problem. My problem is that in hardware parameters Audio my audio device is listed to have output only 2.0, and only two channels is available in the Audio output mapping.

    Asio2.JPG

At the same time I have no problem with bed sound 5.1 and 7.1 from other applications (Windows Media Player, QuickTime, VLC, various games)

I understand that maybe that's a problem with a driver for the Realtek onboard Audio. It is also my understanding that I need to buy a new sound card that supports full 5.1 ASIO.

Please advise on what is best for. Please check in this dialog box or the dialog box match the Audio output of the preferences panel, you have in fact 5.1 or more channels of output. I thank you very much in advance.

Fantastic! I can't tell you the number of people who helped this little free .dll.

ASIO is a little science, a little and a lot of luck art. This is not only a question of Adobe. Many DAW studio-level apps. have the same problems.

At the end of the day, it's the things to work and work well, as well as get the projects at the door.

Now, if you have any questions to other programs, using Audio ASIO, just go to their preferences and set things up for ASIO4ALL.

I'm so happy it helped you, as it has helped me and many others.

    Good luck

  • Good question HP Pavilion DV6 IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    Hello

I recently bought a new laptop for school and study. I bought second hand, because I could not afford a completely new.

When looking for the laptop, make sure that everything was okay. I opened a YouTube video and the video began to play normally. No graphic problem must have problems of SUVs, or any audio. Plugged in my headphones and everything always went well. I literally checked everything and every aspect, and I finally bought it. It was running Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit.

Once home, I did a factory reset and I erased the whole HARD disk, simply because I wanted to be sure I could start with a clean Windows 7.

Once he finished and booted up, I've updated Windows 7 until I couldn't either. Around now, time was about 02:00 at night.

I wanted to watch my series on the Internet, but I got no sound. I disconnected my headphones and reconnected them and yet one time. No sound.

I checked his Windows in the lower right, and while the video showed no activity of all sounds (no bars back) played. I then unplugged the earphones and tried on normal speakers. Nothing more.

Strange thing is that when I plug in my headphones and I go to sound options windows and then I chose 'headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) Communication I stop the video, lower or higher, sound and playback of the video, the sound works perfectly well. But as expected, when you unplug the headphones no sound again. I had the same exact process without being plugged in headphones, but without success.

During playback of the YouTube video this process works. But try a downloaded video, or the sounds of the sample of Windows itself, it gives me an error.

If I play a game I have no sound.

I don't know where I can see the correct modelnumber of your laptop, but it's a HP Pavilion DV6 with an i5 2410 M, 4 GB RAM 450 GB of storage (14, 5GB recovery) and a HD6770M AMD and Beats Audio.

    Any help is very appreciated!

It seems a problem with the audio driver.

Go to Device Manager > under sound and Audio > uninstall all the listed under it.

Select Recovery Manager > drivers and applications > find the IDT audio driver and reinstall it to the computer.

    Restart the computer.

  • Codec and ingest or questions

    Hello

I'm a long-time first user who goes back to 1997 and I am trying to wrap my head around Prelude. I've never really bothered with PL CS6 because he could not rename or "prick" clips. I downloaded PL CC and have been experimenting with her and begins to grasp.

I'm not really interested with meta data or all the different types of feedback that can be used. For my workflow, I want to be able to put my I/O points for clips and get them stitched in a main element, keeping just the part clips uable to preserve space on the hard drive.

I was able to successfully assemble the clips but I'm really struggling to find a good codec.

The other day I turned 26 minutes of HD video using a cheap Sony handycam generating. MTS files. The total size of the different clips that make up the 26-minute film is 4.86 GB.

It was shot in 1080 p, 59.94. I tried to use QT/Animation and a couple of the ones DNxHD, and after only a few minutes of the transcoded video sizes of files are already passed the original GB 4,86.

I want to be able to assemble the usable film parts to save hard disk space.

I'm on Win 7. I want to keep the transcoded sewn main element the 1080 full of p 59.94, I can't resize small 720, etc..

Can anyone recommend a good container/codec to use to keep image quality and not getting the size of huge files?

    Thank you

    Shane

The advantage of the AVCHD is that the file sizes are quite small. The codecs are full of compromises. The camera native formats like AVCHD can not be efficient for editing, but they are of small size. Codec like ProRes and DNxHD are much better for editing, but the files are of larger size.

DNxHD is a good choice for encoding on Windows, it keeps good quality with relatively low flow rates.

  • Question about resolution movie downloads

If I buy a movie at a certain resolution (780p for example), but I want more later re - download at a higher or lower resolution (SD or 1080 p), can I do so and how?

Same question perhaps for music. Some of my songs have been bought before the latest Apple codecs.

    Any help is appreciated!

    THX!

Once you have made a purchase on the iTunes store, you will see your purchased items in the menu under accounts bar > bought. You can simply select the item purchased and re-upload.

With regard to the resolution of the film for films that are offered, and you select the resolution, you can download it again and select a different resolution. For movies that are available as separate download to SD, 780, or 1080 points, you would be limited to the original resolution you selected.
