• Update errors (iPhoto, Garageband) inherited iMac 2011

  I've updated for macOS Sierra 10.12 earlier and noticed something strange / question - as you can see in the screenshot below GarageBand takes 17.37 GB on my hard drive, but I uninstalled the app entire including the Apple Loops loops library (used AppCleaner)

  I have a MacBook Pro (retina, 15-inch, mid-2015). 2.2 Intel Core i7, 16 GB of RAM and 251 GB of flash storage.

  Is there anything else I can do or anything, I'm not properly? I would ideally like to free space.

  Hi all...

  Not sure if it's my audio interface or the recent software update to blame, but this morning, I used my electric guitar with garageband perfectly without any problems. After that, I installed the 10.11.6 (15G 31) put day and after that, electric guitar Garageband a humming noise entry very loud as very intense static. My audio interface is Scarlett Solo that does not any drivers only, it connects via USB and works. If this update wouldn't have happened I could have blamed the device, also the microphone input works fine it's just the presets for electric that give me the question.

  problem solved. Apparently the fact that the update and the time where the question arose where it's just one of those unfortunate coincidences. It turns out it's the guitar cable. I replaced the cable and everything is back to normal.

• iPad, Garageband Midi export to Windows PC

  Hello, I have an iPad Air 9.3.1 and iTunes 12.3.3.17 on my Windows PC, although I'm going to update my iPad 9.3.2 soon.

  For a long time, I tried to export Midi from my iPad to my PC files. To me, it seems that I can export only different audio files, but not all Midi files. When I try to export a song, I get a few options; SoundCloud, Facebook, Youtube, iTunes, etc. If I choose to iTunes, I get two other options: "Song" or "project". If I had a Mac, I guess "Project" would give me a Midi file, or at least something I could use then on my Mac version of Garageband. But I don't have a Mac, a Windows PC only.

  So my question is: is there a way for me to export Midi files from my iPad to my Windows PC? The only options I see so far is to buy a Mac, or using a Virtual Machine, which is something I really want to avoid, for several reasons. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Export as a song export an audio file of the track. Export as project includes all the data files, so it can be edited on another iOS device or in GarageBand on Mac. .Band files are essentially zip under another name files. Looking inside there is nothing that corresponds to a .midi track you could change in a third-party application. There are probably other apps available if you want to save the editable MIDI files.

  I have trouble getting my waves plugins in garageband. I have read some other forums and gone through the process of clearing the cache audio (for garageband re-scan), garageband restarting, restarting the computer, uninstall and reinstall garageband, uninstall and re - install plugins from waves, and still I'm not able to use the plugins in garageband. Plugins are not yet selectable in the garageband plugins section.

  I see that you are trying to install plugins in your components folder.  By the looks of the screenshot you provided, .bundle files you added are actually aliases rather than the files themselves.  To learn more about what are aliases, see the following article:

• GarageBand compatibility with El Capitan

  I have the Version OS x El Capitan 10.11.3 installed on my computer.   GarageBand (Version 4.1.2) only opens for a new project, but I can hear songs composed before the upgrade of the El Capitan.  My questions: will the 10.1 Garageband update replace or remove the 4.1.2 version on my computer?  I'll be able to hear my old songs GB 10.1?   And, is it possible to run two versions of Garageband, in order to keep my old songs and compose new ones in 10.1?

  I have two GarageBand 6.0.5 and the new GarageBand 10.1.0 installed and both work well and that you can share the loops and sounds.   Installing GarageBand 10 did not remove the old version, but leave it installed.  However, I would like to rename the old version of GarageBand, if you want to keep it and backup your Mac before installing the new version.

  I don't know if 10 GarageBand can open your old songs, probably yes. It could open my 5 GarageBand. songs and songs from Garageband 6.0.5

• GarageBand installed in external drive

  I'm running out of disk space on my MacBook Air. But I wanted to install GarageBand inside. The normal procedure is, I move the Garabeband application in the Applications folder, and when I run it first, it tries to download audio files. Problem is that there is not enough storage to all audio files, so the process will fail to half way through. I tried to move the application on an external hard drive and run it from there, but I think he's still trying to download the audio files to my library in the local storage of SSDS. I've read a few articles and did some searching on Google that explains that once you have installed and downloaded files, you can create a symbolic link and move these audio files on an external drive. My problem is that I don't yet have a facility of GarageBand.

  Please can you me the paths of standard files, so I can create symbolic links and I have garage band download the audio files on my external hard drive? Is there another process that would make me run garageBand?

  PS: A question side fast, I downloaded GarageBand for my iPhone and took the app in purchase to unlock everything. I love the app! Is it possible to get more instruments? Several agreements and tonal characteristics or these sequences of AutoPlay?

  GarageBand strives to install in two places - open folder/library at the top level of your system drive.

  Open the "Application Support" folder, there should be a GarageBand file inside.

  And library should contain a folder "Audio" with folders for loops.

  Has GarageBand already created partial files for this?

  I have been using Garageband for about 2 years for recording live hypnosis sessions with my clients.

  I have everything first to import a piece of background music (such as AAC) and lock the track to keep it stable.

  I use NO effects.

  Audio resolution set to good.

  Then I record my voice that I hypnotize the customer, with the track of music played, and my client and I listen with headphones Sennheiser.

  Here's the problem:

  Sometimes (about 1 in every 6 records) my voice gets distorted halfway through - sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 10 or 15 minutes in.

  Looks like I'm speaking and drunk and at variable speeds.

  I have to give up recording and start over.

  I see that you encounter a slight audio distortion in your voice recording in GarageBand. There are several steps that I would recommend to isolate the cause of the problem.

  First of all, you're working with an existing project that is a model? If so, try to save with a new project in GarageBand.

  Then unplug the USB microphone and testing the recording using the microphone on your MacBook Pro.

• Remix FX is not available on GarageBand 10.1.0 for Mac

  We create channels multiple songs on iPad (iOS 9.2.1 Garageband 2.1) using Live FX loops/Remix. Download to iCloud is fine, but when they are imported into GarageBand 10.1.0 on Mac (10.11.3), I get a system error message: "the named plugin FX Remix is not available on your system. Choose a different plug in GarageBand, or quit and install the plug-in on your computer in order to to use in the project. »

  GarageBand then invites a download of new sounds, who runs and installs and then still comes up with the same error thereafter. Many attempts to download/reinstall sounds offered and to reimport the song did not help. The song is not yet on Mac, but all of the sound effects are missing.

  Surveillance is another word for 'playback', and you could listen to each piece individually or simultaneously through your headphones or auxiliary speakers (monitoring). This "muting" tracks that you don't want to hear.

  I've been using the Focusrite interface: integrated unit iTrack Solo , which includes a 'surveillance'. See this link:
