question of .jad

Where can I find a description of the indicators in this line of .jad file:

RIM-MIDlet-flags-1: 35

Thank you

The flags of auto-start module and system added to the value of start level, which are as follows:

Value of start-up level

0                   224

1                   192

2                   160

3                   128

4                    96

5                    64

6                    32

7                     0

Auto-start (1) means 35 + system module (2) + tier6 (32) = 35.

  • jar/jad weird question.

I wanted to try a specific combination of jar/jad for an application open source there (a clone of matlab).

  • Unstable GPS on ACER Liquid Jade S [icoyote]

    Hello

I recently bought an ACER Liquid Jade S. I use it with two sim cards.

The problem is that the GPS seems to be very laggy. When you use the sailing of Acer, the phone seems to lose its position some time. The position is really not accurate at all.

However, the icoyote application is not usable at all. Speed acknowledged is not accurate at all.  And the signal is lost at high speed.

Can someone help me with this matter? Is there a solution to my problem?

    Thank you

    OK, just tested and...

    (1) acer Nav worked smoothly, no problems even at 130 km/h

    (2) Google navigator worked smoothly, no problems even at 130 km/h

    (3) icoyote... the worst app I've tried. he loses parts of language, false warnings and GPS works at random, but it's an application error, given that the coverage was good.

Note that I had no GPS signal map icoyote but clicking on the GPS icon and check signal on icoyote, GPS has 4-6 satellite and the speed has been recognized, go to the main screen, no speed and no signal.

so, in the end, your device probably has some questions about GPS but icoyote done even worse.

    Hi all

I am trying to install application OTA. I managed to install for a single cod by changing JAD to point to the URL of the server. However, in my application, there are several files of COD and I want them all to be installed once. Therefore, based on the Knowledge Base Article I added

    RIM-COD-URL-n: >

    RIM-COD-size-n: >

You shouldn't list your individial modules in the section of RIM-COD-Module dependencies.  Here are a few questions that might help:

    1. one of your folders of cod are in fact several cod (app.cod to app.zip fame and trying to extract).  If they are each extracted cod should be included as separate RIM-COD-URL/size-N in the jad.

    2. is the configuration of your server with the correct mime types?  The mimetype to a jad should be text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor and the mimetype for cod should be application/vnd.rim.cod

    3. Once you get the NullPointerException check your event log by clicking on the home screen and pressing Alt-LGLG.  There may be an entry in the "BOLD" which refers to the NullPointerException and a stack trace.  This can give us an idea as to why this is happening.

    4. try the Simulator and see if the output of the Simulator has nothing relevant.

Also, let us know what jde you build with and which model of device/OS you are using when you receive these errors.

  • jad issue related to dependencies...

    Hello

    A very specific question...

I have two projects, a cldc app and a library application, with dependencies on the other one. If I install it in my device using alx, there is no problem providing that I have app.cod, library.cod and app.alx in the same folder.

I'm not sure, and I can't test it now, what if he's going to have the same behavior using .jad file

As I see it inside the jad, there is not any reference to library.cod, as it happened inside the app.alx. There is only a dependency of the library module module. This makes me think that I need to have my library installed in the device before trying to install my application.

Am I wrong? Is it possible to install the library and the app with a single jad?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

You have an application named SampleApplication , and two modules in library named MyLibrary1 and MyLibrary2.

You want to do OTA SampleApplication with SampleApplication.jad file that automatically installs the two libraries with your application.

    Follow these steps:

1 build applications. You will get 3 cod and 3 files jad

    2. open the MyLibrary1.jad file in Notepad and copy the values of RIM-COD-URL:, RIM-COD-SHA1:and RIM-COD-Dimensions: the file and save it in a text saying temp.txt file.

    3. open the MyLibrary2.jad file in Notepad and copy RIM-COD-URL values:, RIM-COD-SHA1:and RIM-COD-size: the file and save it in temp.txt.

    4 rename the MyLibrary2.jad file temp.txt as values RIM-COD-URL-1:,RIM-COD-SHA1-1:and RIM-COD-size-1:

5 open SampleApplication.jad file in Notepad and rename values such as RIM-COD-URL-2:, RIM-COD-SHA1-2:and RIM-COD-size-2:

    6 copy temp.txt to SampleApplication.jad values

    7. remove MIDlet-Jar-Size: and MIDlet-Jar-URL: of SampleApplication.jad properties

8 copy all SampleApplication.jad file and .cod files in a single directory

    9. your SampleApplication.jad file is now ready for OTA with your library modules

    Example of a .jad file

    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    MIDlet-Version: 01.00.00
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.1
    RIM-COD-Module-Dependencies: net_rim_cldc,MyLibrary1,MyLibrary2
    RIM-MIDlet-Flags-2: 0
    RIM-MIDlet-Flags-1: 3
    RIM-COD-Module-Name: SampleApplication
    MIDlet-Name: SampleApplication
    RIM-COD-Creation-Time: 1236762075
    MIDlet-1: SampleApplication,images/sampleImage.png,
    MIDlet-Description: Sample Application for Blackberry
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0

You can test it with the device Simulator.

    (1) setting up a Tomcat server, copy these files into folder webapps of tomcat

    (2) start MDS Simulator

    (3) boot device Simulator and access the SampleApplication.jad file of your application.

    (4) download

  • Simple question about the signing of the app

    Hello.

I develop libraries to be used in other apps.

It will be a cod file, its name will be added to the jad as a dependency.

My library has access to the secure API (call of the browser), so I have a simple question:

can I register only my cod library or application that uses my library is expected to be signed in too?

    THX.

You should be ok just signature cod of the library, if your application uses any API secure. However, I just make a habit to sign everything just in case.

  • Cod unwanted in the JAD - please help file

    Help!

I use the eclipse plugin to create my game. However, when I view the JAD file I see many COD files listed but these do not exist. I only have 1 COD. A reflection as to why?

Here is a partial sample of my JAD file:

    RIM-COD-SHA1-42: bd f1 12 60 c9 b 63 8, 20 ad be 7 c c4 d4 66 7 d c6 c9 38 08 b1

    RIM-COD-size-29: 51332
    RIM-COD-size-28: 51332
    RIM-COD-size-27: 51332
    RIM-COD-size-26: 51332
    RIM-COD-size-25: 51332
    RIM-COD-size-24: 51332
    RIM-COD-URL-49: TrianglePegPuzzle - 49.cod
    RIM-COD-size-23: 51328
    RIM-COD-URL-48: TrianglePegPuzzle - 48.cod
    RIM-COD-size-22: 51332
    RIM-COD-URL-47: TrianglePegPuzzle - 47.cod
    RIM-COD-size-21: 51332
    RIM-COD-URL-46: TrianglePegPuzzle - 46.cod
    RIM-COD-size-20: 51332
    RIM-COD-URL-45: TrianglePegPuzzle - 45.cod
    RIM-COD-URL-44: TrianglePegPuzzle - 44.cod

For what it's worth, she also create 4 files of debugging such as TrianglePegPuzzle - 1.debug.

To answer your question "where these COD files come?", if you add to that a picture of 1 MB to your project (for example), the compiler will generate 1 dozen of COD files, since there is a code k 64, 64 k of data is limited to a single file of COD. The image data will be spread over but COD several files it takes.

If you then delete this image, or replace it with a smaller image, the JAD file is still not (in my experience) remove old references of COD.

So, I suspect that you may have added a large image (or another resource) to your application and then removed.

  • CodeModuleGroup and JAD - is my way of pushing through my application properties an OTA Download?

    Hi guys,.

I've been searching on this during a while but do not get the answers I need.  Looking for confirmation.  I am trying to get my head around how I'll roll my own app OTA distribution.  Initially just if I have a way to do tests in-house OTA and gift promotional, but who knows, maybe add a way to collect money in fact people.

Thus, when we check the license with App World, we are looking for a particular property on our app CodeModuleGroup... see this thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=appworld_dev&message.ID=335#M335

My question is, can I create a JAD from my server, on the fly, which has some value stored in which will be finally picked up by my app code when it checks for a license?   For example, my own key correctly maybe STU-MANS_ZANY_APP_WORLD_LICENSE_KEY, and I would check my application as follows:

    CodeModuleGroup.load("My App").getProperty("STU-MANS_ZANY_APP_WORLD_LICENSE_KEY");

That's how Mobihand and Handango do things?  I'll just write a few tests tonight when I get home, but hoping someone can confirm this by a message too.

    Thank you

  • Read Device Simulator jad properties programmatically

    Hello.

I know there are ways to read properties in an RIMlet JAD file, but we face a problem when you use the Simulator devices:

The common way to do this is more sample extract to:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/testing-and-deployment/programmatically-read-the-attributes-o...

And it's working pretty well on the device.

However this code snippet does not work when you use the device Simulator (we use 9000 Simulator included in JDE components). It seems that he is not capable of matching the CodeModuleGroup of the application.

The project is compiled with API 4.6.1 and we use ant + bb - ant - tools for the generation.  Pourrait - what the problem may be because on a simulator, we do not install the app?

So the question is: is there a trick to be able to read the file properties on the simulator device as jad?

    THX in advance,

Why not install the application via the jad, rather than compile directly in the Simulator?

If the MDS Simulator, start it up the Simulator you want to test with, put your jad/cod on a web site accessible and load from there.

    Just a thought.

You could have found this link for yourself.

For example, if you search for this card by using the key words "jar" and "cod", you will find that the first post from the list actually references the zany article reported you to.  In addition, if you had searched the KB with the keyword 'pot', you will find the same article on the first page.  If you are looking for the forum and KB yourself you will obtain the result faster and like me and wacky people have more time to answer real questions.

So you look for yourself next time?  Please, I beg you.
