Question of Sysprep

Launched Sysprep to the experience of creating an image.  Now, I find restarting the machine opens to a black screen with the text "Setup." computer  I don't think that creating an image would interfere with their normal duties.  I would like to ask how I can get to initialize the machine before the creation of the sysprep image.  This machine is a laptop of 2.66 Ghz with Vista Ultimate sp2 and 2 GB memory.  Advice requested

    Hello

HP has a solution for me and are working on a new BIOS to correct the problem of permanence.

Go to the configuration of the BIOS F10-> advanced-> System Options-> and uncheck 'allow PCIe/PCI SERR # Interrupt.

Then, you are able to run Sysprep without blue screen of death.

I see that HP has released a new BIOS version 02.03 last month. You might want to try everything first, but if not, try the above solution.

  • Question about Win 7 installation image on 20 x Portege Z930

    Hello

    I need to install * 20 x * z930 for a client.
the laptops were purchased with OEM W7/W8, W7 is preinstalled.

I want to deploy an Image of the 'standard' for every 20 laptops (Windows 7, sysprep).
My question is about the aktivation key windows7

If I clone an OS W7 for Portege one another, there is always the same serial number W7 (area with script; w7 is still enabled). (Serial Key for W7/W8 integrated on the system board?).

Maybe I will meet trouble when you do the "deployment" in the way that I described above?

    Thanks for the help!

    What challenges do you think?

If you need 20 licenses of Microsoft Windows 7 If you want to use Windows 7 on 20 laptops.

But you can still use the same image on all 20 laptops if all laptops are equipped with the same hardware.

  • Tecra M5 Sysprep problem with file hdaudbus.sys

We have a syspreped image, that was created on a Toshiba Tecra M2.

Our current image works on the following model of machines: -.

    Toshiba Portege 4000
    Toshiba Portge 4010
    Toshiba Portege M100
    Toshiba Portege R100

    Toshiba Tecra M2
    Toshiba Tecra S1

    Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000
    Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We should now get the image while you work with the new Toshiba Tecra M5.

The driver that I have a problem with is HDAUDBUS.sys

When the machine starts first, and almost before it even tries to build some itsself, it says it cannot find the file 'hdaudbus.sys' and it seems that it is in the D: research, if you navigate to system32\drivers, then the driver is installed correctly, but I can't seem to automate this process.

I copied all required driver files and inf.
I filled the sysprep.inf (under the heading "OemPNPDriversPath") file with the driver and the correct path. It made no difference. I also 'DriversSigningPolicy' value 'IGNORE '.
I have sysprep using the image - pnp, mini installation then close it carefully.

    The question is:-

    (A) I do something wrong, and is there a good way to get windows/sysprep automatically install this driver?

    (B) I have a fix for the problem above, is:--
Put our sysprep would be the image on the Tecra M5, manually installed ALL of the correct drivers and then re-Sysprep image. The question is, is it OK to do this? (It seems to work)? Or is it not advisable to sysprep image, several times, on different model machines?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hello Mark

Your ad is very interesting, but I don't really know which should help you. As you can see that he is user in the forum and you'll be lucky if anyone can tell you anything about your problem.

This file is Microsoft one and try to check in a Microsoft support page, if there is solution available.

    In any case good luck!

  • Lose T530 AC (logins) + PM (Power Manager) icons after Sysprep

    Lenovo T530 (Windows 7, x 64 SP1) Sysprep OOTB generalized

After the Sysprep, the system loses the icons on the dial-up connections (Version 5.85) and Power Manager (Version 6.32) in the taskbar. I can get back them, if I do a right click on the taskbar and choose the AC and the PM manually.

Is there a possibility that the symbols retained after the sysprep?

Probably because the tools are not added to the taskbar in user 'by default'. Added tools to the taskbar in Audit mode?

Although sysprep will not keep certain parameters. You may need to use 'unattended.xml' to set up scripts to add these tools to the task bar.

Just one more question: what is the PM tool appears in its factory condition?

  • Sysprep and SIDS

I create templates for Windows 2008 R2 the final step of each creation is a /oobe/shutdown sysprep.

Once the template is cloned and booted up, we do an other sysprep /oobe /reboot. The second sysprep is supposed to be in order to change the SID... Question: Is the only changed SID by using the / generalize? If I use the / option on the model to generalize and then clone, can I get a different SID every time?

The big question is: is sysprep / generalize the only way to reset the sid?

I also noticed that the option on the causes of non bootable for appear offline and IPV6 devices model gets active reset / generalize. Is there a way around this?

  • Use sysprep for activation?

My computer system has been implemented with an upgrade of Vistap after the initial installation of XP.
I need to do a reformat, but want to be sure of the activation procedure with the upgrade installation.
I was told to use the system preparation tool, but as I examine it, I don't understand how this will activate once I have reformat the drive and install the upgrade.
Is it so? Is there a better way? Because I do not understand this tool, what are the specific steps, or where I can find it?
    Thank you
    Joanjps

    Hi, joanjps!

To enhance your understanding of what sysprep doesn't do and why and when it is used, I recommend you read the following TechNet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc721940.aspx.

Personally, I see not why you should always use sysprep if you simply want to clean reinstall Vista on drive current system hard. Just make sure that you save your files from the hard drive of the system to another location, insert you Vista DVD in drive appropriate, restart and continue with the usual installation steps.

However, please make sure you read the section "If you are unable to activate Windows Vista over the Internet' article 'How to activate Windows Vista' on http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/940315.

    Hope that clarifies your question.

  • Cloning Windows XP Pro to new Hard Drives part 2 (Sysprep.exe)

As you can see, there is a new facet to my original question "cloning Windows XP Pro for new drives (ready to use to backup discs)". ".

Through research, I found some information about "Sysprep" which paved the way for many other questions.

    (1) once my OS is installed and configured the way I like it, it is wise to do a disk with Sysprep image before using software such as Seagate DiskWizard to deploy on the other drives?

    (2) I use WinXP Pro-Retail, updated with Service Pack 3, I typed Sysprep in my Menu/Run dialog start and it is said that Sysprep will not find on my system.

Sysprep needs to be downloaded and installed?     If this is not the case, how do you get?

    Hi EtherStreams,

Thanks for posting. The sysprep you're looking for files on the XP cd in which you have you installed the system. The link below shows the detailed procedure to use the utility. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Can I remove C:\sysprep-sysprep from Windows Vista Home Premium?

Recently, I noticed that whenever my anti-malware comes to sweep sysprep - C:\sysprep, the process will be interrupted.  The treated elements & elapsed time will continue to increase even if the blue bar is moving.  The overall progress does not move. As a first step, I have observed that he could stop for hours. . Also, the second attempt was not successful even after the uninstallation of the anti-malware and re - install via the website. I had to close the application without completing all the way.
Since he gives to the scanning process, I would like to delete this file sysprep from my laptop. My laptop will cause no problem if this file? As far as I know, sysprep is intended for administrators, not end users.
If this file can be deleted from my laptop, please advise on the steps of removing. Thank you.

    Hello

I suggest you analyze your computer Microsoft Safety Scanner, it will help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

  • Image in question on the shipment of gold

So when we send the image to dell gold should have the driver's cab or just the .wim? Send us a hard drive, when we finished, but I was wondering if we need to restore the image or with the taxi driver. We have 2 different models, we are ordering a latitude 3440 and 7020. At least he can to put both of these cabins of driver on that hard drive.

    Hi Prescotta-

Thanks for the question.  Everything what you send to Dell is the WIM image was created and captured by the Image toolset help.  The Dell factory process allows to detect the model of system order you and inject the latest drivers for your 1st boot image production.

In summary, the Image toolset help will create a system image Windows Sysprep (which has unattended installation you selected during the process) that can be redeployed to the Dell for several types of model plant and the chassis.  Reference Dell will always ensure that you have the latest drivers for the platform that you order.

  • VDI Sysprep / activate Windows

    Hello

I have a model in VMware VDI and use it to deploy virtual desktops using vWorkspace.  One of the questions I have is that sysprep appears to be removing the acticvation of Windows so after awhile user reports that windows activation beeds.  I have difficulty fast I've converted into a model of a virtual machine, activated windows and redeploy the virtual desktops.  A solution was to use a KMS and manage it in this way, but I would be very interested to know if anyone has this problem and if so what are the measures that you have taken,

    Thank you, John

    Hi John,.

I always tell clients that they need to use a KMS server, when using instant preparation.  I'm not sure that there is another way.

    Hello Simon,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

Preparation system (Sysprep) tool prepares an installation of Windows for duplication, auditing, and customer delivery. Duplication, also called imaging, allows to capture a customized Windows image that you can reuse throughout the organization. Audit mode allows you to add additional device drivers or applications to a Windows installation. After you install additional drivers and applications, you can test the integrity of the Windows installation. Sysprep also allows to prepare an image to be delivered to a customer. When the customer boots Windows, Windows Welcome starts.
