Question on change of Win 7 Pro 32 to 64

I have a HP 4530sXU016T #ABA and HP are graciously send me the 64 bit recovery disc do I go to the memory of 8 GB.  How many software HP is actually useful?  Take me back to the laptop on my backup drive before I have wipe the hard drive to start or will that all be on the recovery disk?  I realize that I need to load the drivers and have a link where to get them.  Anyone know of a tutorial on the site of HP on the best way to go about this?  So far, I really like this computer.  Thanks for any help you can offer!  Jim.

  • Win 8 (Pro) - Questions on program files, the desktop icon and taskbar

    Hello

I just upgraded successfully Win 7 (home) to Win 8 (Pro).

I have a few questions in mind:

Q1: A program icon can be PIN to the taskbar and desktop at the same time?

Q2: Under Win 7, user can easily see all installed programs by clicking on all programs in the Start Menu and select no matter what and copy and paste it on the desktop or PIN to the taskbar task, but under Win 8, I could not find this feature. CAB user to access the program to install all at the same time? Or the user needs to type the name of the program to the search box one by one? How to pin it in the Start Menu Win 8 on the desktop instead?

Appreciate someone could help me in this area.

    Thank you

First question: Yes, of course.  You can place an icon where you want. Desktop, taskbar, start screen, at the same time.

    Second Question:

The start of Windows 8 has a screen view "all programs" similar to the former in Windows 7 (except the new is full screen).  To get her on Windows 8, right click on an empty spot.  If you have Windows 8.1 update, which makes it easier to find by putting an arrow at the bottom of the main screen.

To take an icon from the start menu or the list of applications and put them on your desktop, right click, choose "Open file location" and then copy / paste the icon on the desktop.

  • Satellite M70-122: Question about the necessary drivers for Win XP Pro

    Hello
I formatted my Satellite M70-122 in order to install Win XP - Pro and so I lost all drivers and programs pre installed. It seems that the recovery CD is of no use in this case, and I was wondering if there was a driver CD, I could order.
I found the drivers (62 so far) for my machine on the Toshiba site and I was as well, I was wondering if I should download and install all. What about programs like the CD/DVD burner?
Where can I get them back?

    Thank you.

    Christophe

    Hello

The Tools & Utilities CD but that contains all the necessary drivers is not delivered with the unit, can be created by the user himself. If the unit is installed with recovery media you can find under Toshiba assist > protect & difficulty > create CD drivers & tools.

All these drivers, tools & utilities that you can use for your own installation. Otherwise you need to download them from Toshiba download page, and please check the instructions facilities document and install all things in order. Order of the facilities is very important.

    Good luck!

  • Had bad language Win 7 Pro installed, how can I change

I had a computer built for my mother and clicked to have Win 7 Pro 64-bit installed. We don't speak Spanish so this computer is basically useless for us. The company that built the system and installed the operating system says that I can not get the OS exchanged once it is installed. So, how can I get a pack of English language installed on this box in order to make it relevant to my mother?

    @TFSole: See...

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise

  • Drivers Win XP Pro and install a command of Qosmio E10

    Hello
I recently bought Qosmio E10 in Korea. The OS is Korean Win XP Home. I would like to change, so I guess I have two options:
    1. get a restore in English CD. But I read that Toshiba has the strange rule do not give the CD of restoration of another language. I wrote to them, they answer for now.
2 install Win XP Pro myself (I have only this license). In this case, the question should be able to get all the drivers I need. I found good drivers in several places:
On http://www.toshiba.co.kr, but I worry that these drivers are for Korean XP.
    The other place is http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
In this place, most of the drivers is for Media Center Edition. There are drivers for XP Pro, but they are not so many and there is no order of installation. There is for example, no NVidia driver, this driver is available for the media center. Maybe I can use Media center drivers on XP Pro?

So my question is: do I have to use drivers and and what order to get a good working XP Pro. It would be good to know where to download QosmioUI. I found the Linux player and I install it, but I also want to have the drive in Windows.

    Hello

As far as I know that the software is delivered on laptop and if you buy a laptop, you automatically buy OS and license for use. This means that you can not order a DVD of recovery on another language. Qosmio E10 comes with Windows MCE2004 SP1a.

The only possibility is to install the Microsoft Windows XP (full version, with or without MCE) operating system, and then install all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities separately.

For the English language you can find them on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com topic support & downloads.

    Good bye

  • Questions on change of CPU and the invalidation of permits

    * Original title: Hobby Builder Question

I built my own systems since 1996, and in general, I would like to do two things... buy a copy of the sales at retail (for portability) and run it through up to 3 systems before you buy a new.  Usually my builds contain only a few new parts, that I update a couple of times a year.  I never had problems with Win 3.1, 95, 98, ME, XP or Vista.  In fact, I always have an original game of 3.5 "diskettes for Win 95 and CDs for 98 and XP.  in 2009, I bought a laptop that came with Win 7 Home Premium.  (A Toshiba Satellite A215).  I had to replace the HARD drive in this laptop and he had done professionally in a store (I was not familiar enough with laptop Desk computer architecture vs, so he had to) and technology has made a minor repair job and installed a HARD drive new, unformatted.  He then installed his own (OEM/System Builder multi-license) copy of Win 7 Pro and only charged me for installation costs ($49).  He was and still is active.  On my desk.  I built 1 system in the last years of 7 (built in 2014) I used a copy of the OEM System Builder from Win 7 HP x 64 SP1.  Time for a new building... from scratch.  I bought a single copy of the version of OEM Windows 7 Pro x 64 key to a sale to the retail/wholesaler. This will cause me any questions?  (I intend to upgrade to win before July 10 deadline, but I want to get all moved from the old system to the new system first) Once I have all my important files transferred, I'm decommissioned from the old system to use parts of upgrade of the wife (she has an old system of 11 years with Vista still on it) as long as the Build for his own use my old motherboard, can I transfer my license on his machine? This would include a change in CPU? (He currently has an AMD Athlon X 4 860 K, but I'm going at it in an APU A10-7850 matched with a suitable for Dual Graphics GPU)  All this work will invalidate the license.  The SSD containing my OS will be part of its upgrade of the system, as well as the motherboard.

I'm extremely tech savvy, but am not a PC manufacturer or an authorized, I just take advantage of construction machinery.

Sorry so long a post.  Want just as much information shared for a good answer.

    Thank you

Once installed and activated, OEM of Windows licenses do not have transfer rights.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

When I install a preinstalled (OEM) or the retail version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 Windows 10 license, this license OEM to remain or become a retail license?

If you upgrade an OEM or retail version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 for the free Windows 10 update this summer, the license is consumed in it. Because the free update is derived from the basic qualification license, Windows 10 will be that too many licenses.

If you are upgrading a retail version, it carries the rights to a commercial version.

If you upgrade an OEM version, it carries the rights of an OEM version.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM:

OEM of Windows versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

What happens if I change my motherboard?

In regards to the OEM license , this would negate the 10 Windows upgrade license because he is no longer a qualifying previous base license that is required for the free update. Then, you will need to purchase a Windows 10 full retail license. If the license of basic (Windows 7 or Windows 8.1) qualification was a full retail version, then Yes, you can transfer it.

Since the final Windows 10 user license agreement:

    b. autonomous software. If you acquired the software as a standalone software (and also if you upgraded the software you have purchased as a standalone software), you may transfer the software to a different device that belongs to you. You can also transfer the software on a device that belonged to someone else if (i) you are the first user under the software license and (ii) the user agrees to the terms of this agreement. You can use the backup copy that we do or the media the software provided on transfer the software. Whenever you transfer the software to a new device, you must remove the software from the previous device. You can not transfer the software to share licenses between devices.

  • Win 7 Pro wonder network password when even "password protected sharing" is disabled.

Hello! I use a simple desk Win7 networking with 4 computers, all connected by cable, Win 7 Pro all around. Each computer has a user as an administrator, and all have the same password.  Sometimes after an upgrade or a change in the software, one of the workstations can't connect to the server. Windows security box appears and asks you "Network password". I've never set a network password and any combination of user names and existing PW there will allow him to connect. Other workstations connect properly. Disabling the firewall (McAfee) makes no difference.  Internet access router is OK

Dear Sooraj: I didn't do any of these changes to work stations, but I found another post from Alex Zhao on the change of access to the network and the local network settings. He suggested the translation of names/SID anonymous authorization and Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users be activated, so I enabled them. He also suggested setting LAN to send LM and NTLM - use security if negotiated, NTLMv2 session security, so I put it as well. Still no go. However, as soon as I restarted my router, the missing dialog box and I can see the desktop and print OK on the printer and the network is back to normal.  My question is now: these define inappropriate or likely to cause problems for me later? I try to change one of their return? Thanks for your help! Great job. -Dr. Bob

  • The cutting tool will not "save under" Win 8 Pro

After you use the cutting tool, the program freezes to the command prompt "save under"... I just upgraded to Win 8 pro. I also ran sfc /scannnow to repair corrupt files... Nothing is presented with an error...

    Any advice would be great!
    Thank you

    Hi Josh,.

It would be great if you could answer these questions to help you further.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. you receive an error message or error code?

If you are facing the question recently, then I suggest you to perform system restore to a point when the computer was working fine.

Note: when you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Use capture tool to capture screenshots: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/use-snipping-tool-capture-screen-shots

  • Satellite A30, Win XP Pro SP3 - modem does not work

Another problem with this laptop Satellite A30
The built-in modem does not work.

    * Explanation: *.
The driver is correct and downloaded from the Toshiba support site.
The modem is identified as "Toshiba software modem amr" and is installed on com3 port.

When I click on "diagnosis" and "ask modem" (right labels can be different, since my is an Italian win xp, I just translated the Italian labels), a window pops up saying: it is impossible to open the door (port), the modem is connected to.

I tried to change the com port of the modem to different numbers, but the problem is the same.
I don't know if the modem is a real map connected somehow to the main Board or is built right on the main map. It would be the first case, I may change see ad. BTW, the mini slot pci is already occupied by the gigabyte of Wi - Fi, so the modem must be elsewhere.

This is strange, since I've done at least 2 other win xp pro on this machine facilities, always download and install the appropriate drivers, and the modem has never worked.
    Thank you
    S.

  • ProDesk 600 G1 TWR: restore ProDesk for Win 7 Pro

    This is the situation:
I have a HP ProDesk 600 G1 TWR with upgrade to Win 10 Pro. Some limitations of the software, we need to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro. There is the HP Recovery partition but F11 does not work, I think because for some reason, the HARD drive turned to the dynamics. Now, like a miracle, I found the DVD of the PC kit, well well, I'm not sure complete if belong to this concretely workstation, but HP for the same model.

The question: what about the license? In my view, it is an OEM license and I don't have the key. Can I use the DVD Win 7 Pro for the recovery of the PC? What the activation process in this case?

Of course, if it is possible just to use the recovery partition, will be great.
