R815 error code 2900:0221 CPU voltage sensor

One of our servers R815 (fitted with quad CPU of Opteron AMD 6380) arrested and turned off during the night last week and arrive in the server room, I noticed that the LCD had turned orange with a warning on a CPU being out of range voltage regulator. After unplug power cords, wait a few seconds and plug it back I turned on the server back once again and the message from the LCD and the server started normally.

So I ran hardware UEFI diagnostics and it came with an error:

Test results: fail

Feature: IPMI

test: IPMI System_Event_Log_Check

Error Code 2900:0221

MSG: IPMI - Nov 04 18:08:34 2015: processor: voltage sensor (1, 2V VDDR)

State asserted "CPU1".

Is this something to worry because the server is running at full load on all processor cores 64 for 5 days without any problem? Or is the error message refers to the IPMI/BMC processor and not the Opteron processors?

Andy

Hello.

The procedure to follow before you run any diagnostic is to clear the logs from existing material. The 2900:0221 error Code represents an error previously saved and diagnostic tests failed because only the system chosen this historical error (2900:xxxx). Update the BIOS firmware and iDRAC. Otherwise, everything should be good for now.

I saw a post online to update the BIOS and firmware, I did. We are now running BIOS version 6.4.0. I restarted the test with the same results. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? If the problem is indeed a power supply failure or a sensor on a feed, how do I know which one is bad? Lights on both power supplies are similar to the rear of the server. This unit is no longer under warranty.

    Andoven,

Error Code: 2900:XXXX is historical, referring to recent system errors. It is usually good to clear the logs of equipment before running the system diagnostics. Included update for your firmware firmware on the power?  I guess that your two power supply status LEDs are both green.  If installed, clear the logs in the OMSA and then reconnect the power supply on the right (2 PSU) and see what OMSA reports.

Let us know the status of the block of POWER 2 in OMSA and the current version of the firmware.

  • CPU 1326DX Pavilion G7 error code

I'm working on this machine for my friend.  They initially stripped on it because it gave them an error that says the fan from the cpu had to be replaced.  After I did it, I got the constant flashing error codes.  So I did some research and discovered the design flaw to inherit the mothers on these books.  And considering that the Board was probably hot enough with the failure of fan, I replaced the motherboard.  Now, I'm getting a CPU error code blink.  What is your opinion?  I'm down to replace the AMD processor now, or is there something else I need to check?

When I replaced the motherboard, I carefully cleaned any thermal paste and replaced with the stuff of money.  I also quadruple checked all my connections... but I am always open to ideas.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi Oorin,

You can try reinstalling the HARD disk? With the flashing lights continuously, it could be the BIOS.  Have you tested the HARD drive?

If the HARD drive reinstalling does not help, try reinstalling the memory.

Have you tried a power reset with the RTC battery removed?

    Let me know.

    Thank you.

  • T410 voltage sensor failure

I have a T410 which turns off after about 30 seconds, without errors or warnings, when I ran diagnostic hardware tests, the system has failed with an error code of: Error Code IPMI 2900:0221, MSG, card system: State of the voltage sensor (5V PC) said "motherboard.  I am not able to stay connected to the server in normal mode but can keep the server running in Mode without failure.  I was not able to identify any errors in the newspapers of Windows that indicate what wrong with the operating system, whether at the time wherever remoteness has informed us that they have problems with this device restart constantly RAID known corruption massive disc I could correct it with the disk check.  The server will start without errors or messages and then just power off after about 30 seconds without warning.  This component can be replaced and is then what would be the part #, since it is out of warranty, I'm looking for all the assistance it can fix this problem because it is always a good waiter who just happened to fail after the warranty expires.

    Thank you

    Oscar1976,

The error you see (2900:0221) refers to something existing in the newspaper of the hardware of the iDrac. Normally, this is a reference to a mistake in the past. If you access the web interface iDrac and go to the newspapers of material, you can check if this has happened before. Normally the error reappears for a problem is happening now will start with 4400:. When it shows this error occurring? In addition, if you disable Diagnostics equipment newspaper 32bits not report this error.

With what you describe, it sounds like a problem with the OS, but I would say making sure that the server is up to date BIOS, iDrac and the Raid Controller.  As those who are excessively obsolete can cause problems like that as well.  You would also confirm what controller is installed, as well as of the where the versions of these devices are currently?

Also, in the operating system would you go to system - advanced - startup and recovery and then check that the is NOT a check mark in the check box automatically restart. This is to see if there is a STOP code that occurs before closing

Let me know what you see.

In the case of an error in probe (4SNS), to determine what type of sensor is referenced, look for his first letter, which should be 'I' for the current "V" or "T" for temperature, voltage.

Then check the second letter from the list below to see which component it refers to:

  • HELP WITH AN ERROR CODE PLEASE!

    Hello
I tried to install Vista 64-bit.  I have a page error 0 x 00000050. (OxFFFFFA600211c000, Ox0000000000000000, OxFFFF800A46B137).  I read that page fault usually has to do with memory - I have run the Diagnostics memory and came with no error.  I was doing some research on the Internet and saw that he (error 50 code) may also have to do with the video RAM, so I changed the video no cards to an older model ATI 2900 (I was using an ATI Radeon 4850) now I have none liked getting the BSOD - fair windows loading files, then a black screen forever.  It is a whole new generation.  I can't load either Vista or 7 (the two 64-bit editions) in safe mode, the two facilities to stop at the same exact file LOADED: \windows\system32\drivers\disksys.  I can't and can start utility disks (such as windows and Wizard disk seagate boot disks that do in fact) and I used them to format the drive as the Neurofibrillaire degeneration.  I tried to find what the error codes, but despite countless searches I come up with nothing.  Thanks in advance for any help.
I tried to start with a stick, test the memory sticks. I tried different ways different drives, different optical drives, now different production - the only thing that remains is the processor that I will try today.
Thanks for any help or suggestion.
I also tried the Advisor to upgrade and looked up the eyes each component seperatedly in the Compatibility Center and all are listed as compatible.

I think I thought what it out - although my processor (QX6850) was listed as compatible on all these cards (asus, asrock and gigabyte) I went to Intel today Web site and discovered that my processor is only compatible with chipsets 35 or 48 - of course, I have a 45 chipset (and each of the offices well using different memory who spent memeory all the test and display correctly in the BIOS re) (: tension, calendar etc /) were all 45 chipsets.  I tested and everything but the CPU changed and was wrong to pay someone to do it for me with the same results!  Thank you for your time and your efforts - now I have to wait and see what the various companies tech support said because all these tips and everything I bought are beyond 30 days return policy!

  • 4SNS/1/40000000 error code: VDOR - 18.678 & 18.679

MBP early 2011: I just ran the AHT twice, the first round gave me an error code of 4SNS/1/40000000: VDOR - 18.678, second inning gave the code 4SNS/1/40000000: VDOR - 18.679. Does anyone know what are these error codes? My best guess is probably the RAM, I have (2) modules of 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 OR wireless networking equipment installed. I've noticed recently while multitasking, the wifi connection seems to cling and web pages will not load/downloads will pick up. But the way in which applications will be blocked for 60 seconds makes me think of a bad situation of RAM I have had in the past. Any help would be greatly appreciated since the nearest bar genius lies in 2 1/2 hour. Thank you!

No RAM - 4SNS is a sensor error.

  • Satellite 5100 - error code: 4 short Flash, 1 x long, 3 short films

    Hi all

After I accidentally served Coke for my satellite 5100 503, it was totally cut off. My brother managed to clean it up, and it began. But shortly after, she turned to and just give this error message by flashing the power before conduit: 4 x SHORT 1 x LONG, 3 x SHORT

I managed to interpret it using some web sites. This is a 10: 00 hex code and means: 'AC output voltage adapter's more than 16.5 V.

And here's what they recommend, if the adapter is ok (and it is, I checked):

After checking the connection, follow these steps:
    Check 1
Replace the AC adapter with a new one. If the adapter does still not work, try 2 check.
    Check the box 2
Use a multimeter to make sure the F8800 fuse on the motherboard is not blown. If not, the fuse is broken, go to 3 check. If the fuse is broken, go to test 6.
    Check 3
Use a multimeter to make sure the F1000 fuse on the battery tray is not grilled. If not, the fuse is broken, go to 4 check. If the fuse is broken, replace the battery with a new one by following the instructions in Chapter 4.
    Check 4
Make sure battery cables Council are well connected to PJ8820 and PJ8821 on the system board and PJ1000 and PJ1001 on the map of the battery. If they are firmly connected, go check 5.
    Check 5
The battery or System Board may be damaged. Replace it with a new one by following the instructions in Chapter 4.

Do you think I should go ahead and change the whole motherboard? I don't think it is a fuse, because sometimes the laptop starts and stays on for 10-15 minutes before turning off. In addition, it does not work with the battery! Only the sector...

Thanks for you comments, but I really wonder how did you find the error code mean?
The Satellite 5100 has been delivered with the Toshiba BIOS!
Please note that different BIOS provide different error codes.
This means that the 10 h error code mean Phoenix BIOS, something different than the Toshiba BIOS!

I recommend to contact the ASP in your country and ask the details of error code.

PS: One of my friends did the same. Shake the glass of coke on the keyboard, and the laptop has been cut.
New bad dude... the motherboard has been replaced.

  • Tecra S3 - error code 43 on video card

Looks like S3 of my friend has a problem with the video.

I tried a disassembly/reconnection of the video card and basic thermal paste both the video chip and the cpu (fan now spins in less). After a bios reflash things seemed better but the problem started soon don't reproduce.

Windows 7 Device Manager now displays an error code 43 and advises that the device has been stopped because it had reported problems.

I think he's watching a new video card, but I had zero chance of finding one so far.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

What is the problem exactly of this graphics card? You have lines on the screen or what exactly is going on?

Maybe it of only necessary to reinstall the driver now what you think?
The same problem occurs on the factory setting?

New spare parts, you can get from an authorized service provider. On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of them! ;)

  • Satellite A65-S126: I get error codes 7 and 4 - need to replace the internal RAM

I was making mistakes first when I boot.
Windows has a file missing or currupted (isapnp.sys).
So I try to make a startup disk XP repair and while it is endearing to copy files, I receive other errror ' blah blah error code is 7 or 4.

I did some research on all three errors and every difficulty unique potintial ram bad or bad Bios settings. I tried to reset the cmos and I've updated since the last version of toshiba. Always the same thing.

I also replaced the ram with two sticks, that I had. The same problem. I think there must be some on board the cause of ram that I can get out the chip from the bottom and the laptop will always start and says it has installed 256.

Where and how we replace RAM or what do you think?

    Thank you.

Have you tested the memory? You can use Memtest www.memtest.org which is a floppy disk or a CD.

Perhaps the error is just guessing what the problem is. File copy errors can also be caused by a scratched or damaged CD, bad CPU, defective HARD drive, faulty DVD drive or motherboard. If Memtest passes, then test the hard drive for bad sectors.
