Railways traffic bridge area

Hi guys,.

Couldn't really get into the logic of the coexistence of bridge-field and hsrp. How traffic will be flooded?

Imagine the following topology:

Bridge-field and hsrp is running between ASR1 and ASR2.

Host C has two network cards. Both are in the State, but one of them is the traffic transfer.

I'm curious, what road traffic will host to host C A and from B to C in a situation when:

(1) net.adapter #1 is active

(2) net.adapter #2 is active

p.s., hsrp active router remains the same.

We captured traffic on devices, and it was a little confusing for me this standby hsrp router has been forward traffic to host B off g0/0/0/0 and pw 3

I appriciate any help...

It's a dangerous configuration of brands, there is a possible loop with the PW in the same group of split horizon than the attachment circuits.

To answer your question; the bridge will be before the table of learning-based mac, if she knows that mac (from the server) is found via a link, it will continue to pass this way until mac is empty and we begin to flood or the mac is not refreshed and ages, after which it will start also floods.

When the waiter brings the downlink, it is important that the 9 k/router sees this link down also, so it can converge.

If it isn't, then you must do a few IPSLA or something like that to "test" the link and the remote host and the trigger on it with a message to HSRP failover or dropping the interface in order to rinse us the Mac.

  • Should images in Bridge are different from each other? sRGB vs ARGB vs ProPhoto?

I am looking for some clarification on this because I'm at a standstill and going bonkers.  First of all, it's a long story how I got here, but to shorten, I had to buy a new screen, my old one crapped out.  I bought a screen wide range NEC and then need a new graphics card so bought a new HP workstation and then because of the external drive connection problems had to reluctantly upgrade to windows 8.1.  So I'm not sure where the conflict lies from the new to the foregoing.

My old set up worked fine, I managed ARGB color.  Prints from my printer and laboratories corresponding Photo on my monitor calibrated.  I sold a lot of pictures and everything was good.   I've always used Bridge and PS, I found import into Lightroom bulky... .so it has not been used much.

Now, I love Lightroom, but all my images are not importing, so I always use with bridge for display. I like to see images in Bridge for comparison and approval.

My dilemma is here... Many of my images look different in Bridge and change before my eyes, never had that happen before.  Sometimes images differently Tags are sometimes similar, they are different and they change.   Why not compatible?  and what if they look like?  For example, to be clear.  I have 2 different images and each of them is duplicated and labeled in each color space.  sRGb, ProPhoto and ARGB.  A single image they all look the same, the other images, they all look different.   Why?

If I change the settings of ARGB color for general use they will not always vary all over and over again.  I have conflicts somewhere... but it cannot narrow down.

My goal would be to bridge to show me pictures sRGB as tagged tagged ARGB and sRGB images to resemble ARGB and Pro Photo images to look like pictures of ProP.  It is naïve to me who?

The first thing you need to know about the bridge, it is that it stores all the previews JPEG sRGB, regardless of the original color of the file space. IOW they should all be the same under any circumstances.

However, the preview properly on screen rendering often takes a bit of time. Usually there is a brief initial moment where you see the file without color management, before bridge has the time to convert the preview in the monitor profile.

It should quickly snap into the correct view. But sometimes it hangs and stays in the State 'without color managed", on the one hand, several or all the previews. When this happens, the quick solution is to right-click and 'Purging the Cache for Selection'. It will then refresh correctly.

You haven't noticed this with the standard range, old screen - it would have been anyway sRGB to sRGB (ish). But with a range wide screen, it becomes obviously oversaturated.

Changing the color settings makes no difference. Profile embedded which - replace and like I said the bridge previews are sRGB in all cases.

  • G6-1262sa Pavilion: Pavilion g6-1262sa CPU upgrade v2, Sandy Bridge = > Ivy Bridge?

Hi, thanks to the Pavilion g6-1262sa maintenance and manual cleaning and this great forum, I recently discovered that replace my i3-2330 m is possible with all sandy bridge i7 2620m processors.

These questions may sound silly, but I continued my research and I have more ideas to confront reality as a couple.

I realize that the compatibility is not only matter of editing the same socket, but also of the bios installed on certain motherboard, however:

    1. do you think it would be possible to Exchange Sandy Bridge (2nd generation) i3 - 2330 m for some Ivy Bridge (3rd generation) i5-3210 m?

2 is the 32nm to 22nm manufacturing technology enough difference on its own (even if the rest of the architecture is the same) to prevent that to work?

3 is the bios from my card mother g6 identyfying somehow installed processor? (if this isn't on 'the list' it simply won't work? "or what technical compatibility issue?

According to some statements which I found it on some forums and sites (and a few facts documented free):

Socket: the two processors are compatible with BGA1023 decision-making. (at least that's what I found, if someone could confirm I would be grateful)

Difference of architecture: "The 3rd generation is called 'Ivy Bridge' and is essentially a copy of Sandy Bridge made on a smaller scale, or die." However, Intel also focused on beefing up of the onboard graphics in this generation. »

    TDP: both are 35 W

Carrots: both are 2 physical (Virtual 4 - thanks to hyperthreading I guess?)

Energy consumption: "Ivy Bridge CPUS also use less energy", "Ivy Bridge consumes less energy; around 10w, I think. »

    Temperature: i5-3210 m going 5 * C more - 2330 m - i3 shouldn't make much difference

Looking forward to some responses, RacA

It is not a technical incompatibility (socket) because as you probably know Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge are backward compatible on most motherboards desktop. However, HP has only implemented gen 2d, processor Intel Core compatibility of the HM65 Express chipset that you a. motherboards supporting 3rd gen processors use the HM77 chipset. There is no another motherboard that will fit in your frame.

Your analysis above, which was pretty good, left out the chipset, which you must always remember when assessing the possibilities of upgrade:

    http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/MB-Intel_%28chipsets%29/HM65_Express.html

The HM65 supports a couple 3rd gen processors, but none of them are on the list of HP for your model. You can try one of those shown in the link I gave, but I think that there is a small chance that they will work.

  • MAC filter list giving problems on EA6500 with bridge

    Hello

    installed a router EA6500 and WUMC710 bridge.

I tried using the MAC filter option and included all my wireless devices, including the WUMC710 bridges.  The MAC filter works great for wireless computers and smart phones.

It also works for bridges, the bridge is accessible from the network and can be opened for installation.  However, all devices connected to the bridge are considered to be wireless devices.  No, problem, can live with that.  For example, included the MAC addresses of these devices (Media Player, desktop,...).

Even when I've included these devices, attached to bridges, they cannot access the network or accessed via the network.  For some reason, the router seems to make a difference between wireless devices, directly attached to the router and devices are connected to the WUMC710 bridge.

When I do not use the MAC filter, the devices work properly.

With my old router / bridge configuration, I never knew that the devices connected to the bridge where the as wireless devices.

Someone at - it experience with this problem?  Is this a problem with the gateway or router?

MAC addresses that you enter for the devices connected on the WUMC710 should be the LAN mac addresses. You must also include the mac address of the WUMC710 instead of just the mac address of LAN wireless. It is the way in which the bridge is designed to work if you have the mac address filtering is enabled in the router. Got this info from this link: http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Access-Points/WUMC710-MAC-Address-issues-when-using-MAC-Filtering/....

  • PPPoE works do not on a bridge-CSR1000V

    Hello fans of Cisco.

I have a problem with a validation on a CSR1000V config in my lab.

I have implemented a full PPPoE configuration server forward (bba, vpdn, virtual model...) with a bba group named PPP with L2TP.

When I turn the server on my local interface, my customer (an old 1841 with a client pppoe-pool-numbering code) in the same local network to connect without a problem:

interface GigabitEthernet1 no ip address pppoe enable group PPP

But when I pass my PPPoE server to a bridge domain, it seems that the process server to no longer receive the packets 'PADI ':

bridge-domain 12 ! interface GigabitEthernet1 no ip address service instance 1 ethernet encapsulation untagged bridge-domain 12 ! interface BDI12 no ip address pppoe enable group PPP

When the client sends packets PADI, the number of entries in the article IG1 increments but the number of entries in BDI12 don't. And 'debug pppoe packets' does not display any package on the side of the CSR.

I already tried to set an IP address on BDI12, and I can ping it without problem in my test client, so the connectivity seems ok.

For more information, I need to move my PPPoE server to a BDI interface, because the final idea is to receive requests from partners NNI on pseudowires remote, not on-site:

     l2 vfi ppp-test manual vpn id 12 bridge-domain 12 neighbor 1.1.1.2 1234 encapsulation mpls

This part is ready (ping works with static IP) but the same problem with PPPoE packets.

Anyone has an idea why the PPPoE does not work on the BDI interface?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

    Guillaume

    Guillaume,

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it seems that the combination of Ethernet and PPPoE service instances is not supported. Documentation for ASR - 1 K that goes the same principially IOS - XE stated explicitly:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/routers/asr1000/configuration/guide/chassis/asrswcfg/BDI.html#pgfId-1054861

Unfortunately, I do not have enough experience with these features to provide a work around - aside, of course, dedicating an additional port on the unit perform the aggregation of bridge-area and have a PPPoE server to access connected to this additional port.

    Best regards
    Peter

  • All traffic Vlan to the Interface of the Proxy Server

    Hello!

I need little help to route all the traffic on VLAN to the proxy server.

I have different VLANS on switches L2 200-26 and by 300-28-L3 for routing.

I have already created VLANs and able to rout them, but facing problem for routing traffic to the interface proxy for internet access.

I have different VLAN for example Vlan 10, 10.10.10.0/24 sales, Vlan20 10.10.20.0/24 Marketing. I have trunk between switches interfaces and default 1U is the same on all switches.

My proxy server has two NICs, one is connected to a dsl modem and other one to the switch port that uses the IP 192.168.0.2 to default vlan1.

I am able to surf the internet using vlan1 but not on ther VLAN.

I put the route defaults to the switch of 192.168.0.2, but don't not routing for internet to another VLAN.

    Thank you

    Hello

    To answer your questions:

    1. I have to update the following files?

    https://software.Cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283019617&release...

Yes, please let me know what firmware and boot code, that you have right now and I'll tell you what is the best way for you to upgrade because you shouldn't go straight to the latest firmware unless you run already 1.3.5.58 or later version.

    2. it supports to 8 dhcp pools. I have swimming pools, but I have more than 8 VLAN. I put all the settings, works very well.

You are right and I forgot to mention the limitation of only 8 DHCP pools, I'm sorry. That being said, make sure that your current DHCP server uses IP addresses assigned to each VLAN on the switch as the gateway by default for the VLAN respective.

3 for the Proxy Server, I need to find a way to point back roads of VLAN to vlan mapping static address on the switch. I'm confused in this little piece.

I understand that this can be confusing, let me see if I can explain it a little better.

Assuming that everything on the switch is configured according to my recommendations can

    1. you need a single, a route by default on the switch, so that when a PC is connected to one of VLAN on she tries to go online, an unknown IP address to the switch, it will send it to the Ip address of the router, because the proxy server will be able to reach this IP public, unknown to any Web site.

2 - when the traffic is back to this Web site, it will be intended for another subnet that the proxy server is on. Suppose the answer is looking for 10.10.10.100 (subnet unknown to the proxy server), without a static route on the proxy server it say where to send this traffic, packets are simply deleted.

    3. you need to create as many static routes on the proxy server as the amount of VIRTUAL LANs, you have on your network.

For now I know that the proxy server is 192.168.0.2 on VLAN 1 but I don't know what the IP address of the switch is on the same VLAN, it should be something on the 192.168.0.x range.

All journeys should look like this:

10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0 send 192.168.0.x (IP address of the switch on the VLAN 1)

10.10.20.1 255.255.255.0 send 192.168.0.x (IP address of the switch on the VLAN 1)

Alternatively, if all your internal VIRTUAL local networks are on the beach of 10.10.x.x then you should be able to create a single rule to summarize all the VLAN as this:

10.10.1.1 255.255.0.0 send 192.168.0.x (IP address of the switch on the VLAN 1)

Please let me know if it was a little clearer.

Feel free to ask any questions.

  • The QoS traffic shaping and shaping tip

    Hello

Could someone tell me what is the difference between traffic and shaping of edge smoothing?

    Kind regards.

The main reasons to use the traffic shaping are to control access to the available bandwidth to ensure that traffic is consistent with specific policies and to regulate the flow of traffic to avoid congestion. Some reasons for example for the use of the following traffic shaping:

Control access to bandwidth when the policy dictates that the average rate of a given interface must not exceed a certain rate.

Configure traffic on an interface if you have a network with different access rates. Suppose that one end of the link in a frame relay network runs at 256 Kbps and the other end of the link works to 128 Kbps. sending packets to 256 Kbps may cause applications to stop using the link.

A similar and more complex case would be a network of link layer giving indications of congestion on the terminal equipment of data access with different rate attached devices (DTE). The network may be able to deliver more speed transit to a DTE device to a precise moment than at any other time.

If you offer a service of low speed, the traffic shaping allows you to use the router to partition your T1 or T3 links into smaller strings.

The traffic shaping prevents packet loss. Its use is especially important in Frame Relay networks, because the switch cannot determine which packages have priority or what packages should be removed in the event of congestion.

Specifying the rate of advanced formatting allows you to make better use of available bandwidth by allowing more data than the EIF to be sent if the bandwidth is available.

  • Why IPSec does not support multicast traffic?

If IPSec is a tunnel, why can't set you the multicast traffic in an ACL to protect?

IPSec is a standard, and there is nothing in the standard that allows for multicast or broadcast traffic to go through it.

Specifically, the IPSec RFC (ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc2401.txt) says things like:

A security association is identified by a triple compound

a security parameter Index (SPI), Destination IP address, and a

identifier (AH or ESP) security protocol. In principle, the

Destination address may be a unicast, broadcast IP address

address or multicast group address. However, the IPsec Security Association Management

Currently, the mechanisms are defined only for unicast SAs.

    and

The receiver-orientation of the Security Association implies that, in

the case of unicast traffic, the destination system will normally be

Select the SPI value. Making the destination select the SPI

value, there is no risk for manually configured security

Associations to conflict with automatically configured (e.g., via a)

The key management protocol security associations) or safety

Associations from several sources in conflict between them. For

multicast traffic, there are multiple destination systems by

Multicast group. If some system or person will need to coordinate

Among all the multicast groups to select an SPI or SPIs on behalf of each

multicast group and communicate the IPsec group information to

all legitimate members of this group of multicast through mechanisms

    not defined here.

Several transmitters to a multicast group SHOULD use a single title

Association (and therefore Security Parameter Index) for all traffic to

This group when a symmetric key encryption or authentication

algorithm is used. In such circumstances, the receiver knows only

that the message is from a system with the key for this

Multicast group. In such circumstances, a receiver will be generally

not be able to authenticate which system sent the multicast traffic.

Specifications for other, more general multicast cases are postponed

    for later IPsec documents.

Sorry to quote RFC from you, but we just follow the standard and the standard does not support this. You can bypass it by setting a GRE/IPSec connection, but what really is encapsulating the broadcast/multicast in a package of volition unicast first, then encrypt this unicast packet.
