RAM for Tecra 740 CDT

I just bought an old laptop TECRA 740 CDT on eBay to travel without fear. Aries is in fact of 64 or 80 MB (to be confirmed) and I want to bring to 144 MB (at most, I think).

What kind of RAM do I use (SIMM?) and it's easy to do it yourself? Thanks for any tip and the thing!

Hello

I found the info that you need module memory 128 MB of the PA2046U. Check it out!

By the way: I can confirm that 144 MB of RAM is the max, you can use on this good old classic.

  • What is the best RAM for Tecra A3 upgrades

    Hello

What are the type of RAM I can install safely in my Tecra A3 better/faster?

I ran a test with 'CPU - Z', and it tells me I have a 512 MB of memory, having sat on the #1 slot, type DDR1/PC2700 / 166 mHz.

I would like to have at least 1 gigabyte of memory, but I'm not sure of the following:
1: the motherboard supports DDR-2 RAM or DDR-1 to faster bus speeds (566, 333 or even at 800 mHz)?
2: can I install another type of memory alongside the current (see above question)?
3: make a performance gain by having all the RAM in one slot/block, or vice versa?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hello

This utility is not known to be, but I think that it provides the right information.
You know the software "Everest"? It is a hardware diagnostic application. It's not bad.

In my opinion, you should use the RAM modules recommended by Toshiba. In my opinion, you will get the best performance with these modules.
I found a few compatible modules:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 2M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G)

It seems that these modules are SO-DIMM 200 pin - DDR 333 MHz.
In my opinion, you need to buy a 1 GB and use it in the slot one.
In the future you can easily switch from the laptop to 2 GB

  • Need to RAM for Tecra A7-248

I see in your option more4you site I can't find my model of laptop TECRA A7-248, to whom I wish to update my Ram memory up to 2G instead of 1 G that already have.
More details on the ram that I have in my book is: DDR2 1024 MB PC2-4300 (216 MHz).
What Ram you can offer me to go up to 2 GHz and of course be compatible with my laptop.
    Help me please...
I'll wait for your answer to my e-mail personal [email protected]

    Thank you very much...

    > 1. The number of MHz ram memory work is irrelevant? For example, my ram is 533 or 216 MHz?
You support module 533 Mhz. If your bus Frontal (FSB) allows a higher speed, you can use a module which is faster!

    > 2. The manual of my computer to the expansion of memory of the opening chapter, I read that I can only install the memory module with part number for 1 GB: PA3411U-1M1G and I can not find the part number in your site.
There is a number of Toshiba. As mentioned by alphaleader user you can use modules of different manufacturers, but the specifications must be good!

    > 3. If I did not become tired, I would give a secure link to Toshiba or other to order a compatible memory for my Tecra A7-248.
If you want you can contact the service provider allowed in your country and you can order the compatible modules!

Both are Ok, but I prefer the Kingston modules

  • Suggest the configuration of the RAM for Tecra A8

    Hi people,

I want to increase the RAM on my Tecra A8 (PTA83L - 02 k 014) to 2 GB. Currently she is 512 MB. But I don't know what configuration of RAM (DDR/DDR2, speed in MHz etc.) should I buy?

Please give me some advice. Also suggest me which are the best & reliable brands available in the market?

    See you soon!
    -Nitin

Tecra RAM DDR2 support. Supoprted speeds: 400, 533, 667 MHz.
I suggest you to buy 2 x 1 GB (memory equivalent 2 modul necessary to have dual channel mode) RAM DDR2-667. I currently using Venus Kingmax 2 x 1 GB (PC2-5400, model name: KSCD48F-A8KB5) without problem and the dual channel mode.

  • Upgrade of RAM for Tecra M3

    Hello

I need to get some memory for my M3. Are there differences between the following Toshiba references:

    PA3412U - 1 M 51
    PA3412U - 2M 51
    PA3412S - 2M 51

Insofar as I know, they are all the same spec and should all be OK, but I'm curious why the same thing has three different numbers. I think the first two are just older versions, and I can get them on the second-hand market.

Is there an expert out there who can help me?

    Thank you

Seems that all of these modules are the same.

  • Bad for Tecra A7-248 RAM?

I was looking for a RAM to my laptop TECRA A7-248, and the answer I get is to google for "Kingston DDR2 PC2-4300" or "OCZ DDR2 PC2-4300". "."
In the eyes of kingston looking for ram to my pc model, I find that the best memory for my pc was the KTT533D2 / 1 G or KTT533D2 / 2G.
For Europe, view links kingston to info-quest quests.
For the other side info-quest told me that there are 533 sugest and not avalaible buy me at 667 Mhz. According to the FSB, the number of Mhz was compatible with my pc.
Finally got to me, by info-search module KVR667D2S5 / 2G, but when I did, my laptop not turn to start condition but only the power on led, and that's all...
If you have an idea about, please respond to...
    Can I return this return...

Of course you can turn it on back. I also think that there is a compatibility issue. To be honest RAM Kingston module are very high quality product and maybe you have the wrong module.

I'm looking for a bit of RAM for my old laptop Tecra 8000 PII 300 model n PAT800E-B94A-GR.

    Hello

I found some interesting info on this good old classic. Your Tecra can handle with max 256 MB of RAM. Tecra 8000 has two memory slots, and you can use two 128 MB modules.

Module 128 MB compatible is with PA2062U part number.

  • Battery Tecra 520 CDT

Now I have two computers TECRA 520 CDT that will not charge the battery.

The batteries are in good condition (a new) and can be loaded on another machine of CDT 520 by using the same charger, then the 'dead' machine will work and the charger to maintain the battery.

This problem can be repaired and if so by whom?

    Hello

    > This problem can be repaired and if so by whom
If you are sure that this problem is not related to the defective battery, then it must be a problem of laptop computer at 100%.
Who knows why the battery may not charge maybe there is something wrong with the motherboard or only some pins of the battery are not connected correctly.

What is the battery LED lights up when you insert the battery into the device and unplug the AC adapter?

If not then that would mean that the battery is not recognized and this would mean that there is something wrong with the laptop
In this case, the machine must be checked by a technician for laptop
You should contact the ASP from Toshiba (certified partner)

  • Beginner looking for the best upgrade memory for Tecra 8000

Hello - I am currently looking to upgrade the memory on my Tecra 8000 the current 96 of at least 256.

Is it possible that I can't find info on 256 MB extensions that are compatible

I also want to upgrade my hard drive of at least 20 Gb, but I think it will be easier

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Hello

In my opinion, you should contact the Service partner and ask them what a memory module is compatible with your laptop. I found that PC100 128 MB (PA3005U) is certainly usable for Tecra 8000.

Please be careful because all modules may not be recognized by BIOS correctly.

It is possible that 256 MB RAM PA3069U - 1 M 25 is compatible but I'm not sure about this. Pick up information by the Service partner before buy you one.
