RAM upgrade options

Hello, I have an Alienware M14x, I bought in 2011, which came with 6 GB of RAM installed. I have a performance issue to play games and said that an upgrade of RAM would be useful. I cant' seem to find anywhere what the maximum amount of RAM that I can install. I understand from reading other threads, that I could not pass my video card, so I would at least like to increase my RAM.

Any information would be nice.

B

Maximum support for the Alienware M14x R1, ram is 8GB. So you have 2 modules of 4 GB each, to make the upgrade.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi all

However, I see some Crucial memory (32GB) for almost the same price, but do not know if those that are compatible with the xps specification 8900.

Please let me know what RAM upgrade you have or suggestions for me.

Go to the website of Crucial and which is compatible with your model. Essential is a good place for the memory of a dell computer. Corresponding exactly what you already have is always a good choice but if you buy from Crucial ram, get it directly from Crucial instead of a 3rd party vendor. It's too risky. Essential guarantees that their ram working or you can return it.

  • Satellite P100 - 216 (PSPADE) - CPU / RAM upgrade options

    Hello guys,.

    I just got a laptop Satellite P100-216 (PSPADE-01400UEN). (card: T5500 - GeForce Go 7600 512 mb, 200GB)

It has a Core 2 Duo T5500 inside and I intend to upgrade as well as the RAM to make a good laptop for my wife.

The question if CPU is supported (assuming that the latest version of the BIOS). I am interested in the series with FSB800 or same T9000 T7000 series (1066fsb) shall if possible because I can get them pretty cheap - I know that the T5500 is just 667fsb by itself, so I wonder if the higher FSB is supported or I stay with 667 Mhz.

Have searched through the net, but no information so far. Would not buy CPU only for it being not recognized by the laptop.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

It is very nice for laptop and if you want to upgrade the RAM upgrade for your wife. In combination with the operating system pre-installed and optimized its own missus will be like to work on this machine.

Upgrade of RAM is quite problematic and you can do it alone. what you need to do is get the compatible modules and high quality.
I think now P100 has 2 GB of RAM, but you can upgrade to 4 GB.

As compatible modules, you can use
    TOSHIBA
    PA3513U-1M2G (memory 2 GB DDR2-667 Kit) or

    Kingston
    KTT533D2 / 2G 2GB 533 MHz Module
    KTT667D2 / 2G 2GB 667 MHz Module

On the CPU upgrade, I would just say that we forget. As a first step, it is not necessary to do so and secondaly - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

    Bye and good luck.

  • The 64 GB of RAM upgrade option OWC

Is it worth getting? Or 32 GB is plenty for most applications. Because I use 16GB on my work Mac Pro, I have a question the need all memory.

I am considering getting an iMac 27 "new 5K will be just to get the bare minimum 8GB and then increase by OWC RAM. Of course, I use Photoshop and normally have several programs running at the same time. I'm not heavy 3D or good video editing.

I think 32 GB is more than enough, but since it is a new system, I am considering the option of 64 GB for other and future proofing.

    Thoughts?

    ~ Kort

Most users do not need for the even 64 GB 32 GB. Based on your indicated IMHO uses your new computer will give you plenty of reserve to 32 GB, but if it does not work on the road, you always have the possibility to opt for the 64GB.

  • E6540 Latitude Ram upgrade options

I am looking to buy a laptop computer Latitude E6540. Intel lists the 4th Gen Mobile CPU like that can support up to 32 GB of RAM, the E6540 will support this amount of RAM? Dell doesn't offer her as an option but wonder if 3rd party memory will allow this configuration.

    Hello MattRelouw,

Memory maximum support by Dell Latitude E6540 is 16 GB and has never been tested with 32 GB. However, as 4th Gen Mobile CPU supports up to 32 GB of memory, the system can support 32 GB memory. Any brand of memory should do.

  • Split X 2 HDD and RAM upgrade

I recently bought a HP Split X 2 of Best Buy, and I like it so far.  I read in the preliminary comments for this product that the CPU can be i3 or i5, RAM can be upgraded up to 8 GB and a hard drive can be placed in the keyboard.  I realize that it is a new product, but is anyone know yet if these upgrades can be done after purchase?  My Split X 2 is now configured with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB memory SSD and an i3.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Hello

It's a list of the available configurations:

  • Mini 210 help with upgrade options

    I have a mini 210-1142CL

Someone has updated the motherboard on this model and if so, is it really make a difference in performance.

Upgrade options are also somewhat confusing.

The mini works fine for me and before that pitch for a newer model, wanted to explore options of upgrade of it for at least a dual processor at the fastest speed it can handle.  Right now, it is running.  Have disk space enogh with 128 GB of free space, 1 GB of RAM.   Running a 1.66 GHZ N455 chip.

Not sure if a 1.5 GHZ dual chip will really make a substantial difference, or if it's time for new technologies.

    Thank you

    Stan

Atom processors were a dead-end. However, the N550 1.5 ghz dual was one of the best. A bit like the world above 'little person' but still a honor:

    http://cpuboss.com/CPUs/Intel-Atom-N550-vs-Intel-Atom-N455

Just to put it into perspective, here is a graph of the N550 vs some real processors.

    http://www.cpubenchmark.NET/CPU.php?CPU=Intel+Atom+N550+%40+1.50GHz

I saw the N550 motherboards for $45 on eBay. Performance is perhaps 30% better than the single core 1.66.

Your best upgrade is to install the 2 GB of RAM.

If you feel compelled by the whole thing of netbook, I'd get a new laptop. The technology comes from the netbook to be a reference in the calculation of the story. Good idea at the time. A good current smart phone probably has as much computing power.

The new memory I plugged in has the same features with one installed. The only difference is the manufacturer, the new is Kingston.

Operating system installed: Windows Vista 32-bit

    • Motherboard: Quanta 3624 intel PM45 (supports up to 8 GB of ram)

I also mention, I tried the only Kingston on a Slot and the system worked without any problems...

I would be so grateful if you could help...

    Thank you in advance,

    Nick Chatzikonstantinou

    Hi, Nick:

One of our experts at the top of the forum (DavidPK) page suggested that you look at this solution to the question of memory you meet...

    I quote David:

"In the system startup tab Configuration screen, the Advanced Options, it proved that there is a check mark in the maximum memory box.  Once removed and the applied change, Windows recognized all the Ram (less the reserved) after the reboot. »

If please give than to try and post back and let us know if that frees a memory system for you.

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If you have more questions just after, again :)

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: Question about RAM upgrade

    Hi all

I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.
