  Only 1 week ago, I bought a Compaq Presario CQ62-217AX a local electrical retailer. But the minute I took the laptop out of the box and turned on I had problems with random blocks etc. I checked online for answers with very limited success. So I checked the event viewer and the error message came as:

  I was getting this error on a HP g62-435dx.  I tried a number of updates to pilot, updated for the new bios... no luck.

  Finally, I changed the sata driver from the amdsata at the ahci driver generic windows 7 and it seems to have solved the problem.

  If you want to try, go to Device Manager-> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers-> Sata Driver.  Select 'Update Driver'-> 'Browse my computer for driver software "->" Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer', then choose it "Standard AHCI 1.0" pilot. "

  You certainly need the patch that I posted to ensure compatibility with the 2.6.32 kernel.  It is in the community somewhere.    I have the 2.6.32 kernel working with Karmic, which required that the correction as well.

• Router randomly blocking websites

  It is one of the strangest things I've ever seen.

  My router is connected to the internet... and I can access the internet... at least a part of it.

  However, it blocks some Web sites.

  Now, to be clear... these aren't FTP sites... or anything that I think should cause any form of security to block.
  For example... a site is the bank where I pay my monthly mortgage on the House. Another is the site of a local University.

  I used to be able to get to the two Web sites... .but something changed a few weeks ago.

  There is no IP blocked... blocked .or anything, of any kind put in place in the configs. I even went off as to add access to IP from one PC to "allow access to blocked sites" as a test... which doesn't work anymore.

  I have reset several times I mean.
  I set the router to the factory default.
  I reloaded the firmware.
  I looked for anything or any reason in this router as to why he could block these websites and I can't find anything.

  I'm sure that some are asking if I've hard isolated to the router. Yes, I have.
  When my cell is on the home WIFI, it cannot reach these sites.

  For about half of an anneei run a guest Windows 8 Pro (pardon my french) 8 of Parallels Desktop. Before that, I've been using Parallels Desktop win Windows 7 for a long time without any problem, with Windows 8, I had a lot of problems. Three times after a reboot the VM would not start, complaining of the alteration of the virtual disk. This could not be corrected, not even with the help of Parallels support so I was forced to return to the virtual machine backups.

  After the last time that happened I decided to give Fusion a try to see if it is more stable. I have used it for two weeks now and so far am very happy. One thing bothers me however, and that is that, at apparently random times (once every few days), Windows crashes with a blue screen saying "HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED". Fortunately restart the virtual machine works in these cases so nothing major is lost, but this isn't rock solid performance I was hoping.

  A piece of information that might be relevant (but perhaps is a Kipper), that is I run the virtual machine with the (not support put in "Hyper-V" as type of client operating system . I need this because I want to use the VM for Windows Phone development requiring Hyper-v for the emulator. This could be a reason for the accidents? I was using on my virtual machine to remove malware and viruses practice on Windows XP without infecting my host pc. The problem is I was infecting the virtual machine with some real nasty virus on average 20 virus samples per day. After getting a viruse lock Em all the bad guys, a relocation was my only option. I never came close with a 10 days of my free trial. Then, your stupid Update site wanted to download something? Then my fully paid version is no longer me lock out of my pc? Funny as. Looks like Microsoft has done something to my fully released version to stop it running? I have six pc and began to change their everywhere for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid. I'd rather give up my Windows operating system to be manipulated and held hostage by Microsoft.
  These six will be the last Windows OS that will use or buy.

  You are confusing a lot of terms. iPhotos is replaced with the Photos application. iPhoto & Photos are different application, so be specific on which you need help with.

  In your post you are referring to the use of the iCloud library where you store all your photos in iCloud. If you have devices without enough memory, then the parameter optimize allows you to use the photo library iCloud without consuming your entire memory or hard drive space.

  The library of iCloud is a paid service from Apple after 5 GB. I'm sure you know that now. It may take a very long time to download your photos and there is a maximum amount, you can download every day. So depending on the size of your library and the speed of your connection, this may take several days. I don't think that it turn on and off is a good idea. Use and leave that it enabled on your devices, or don't use it at all.

  I checked and the update on the Toshiba site is the previous update... it has the * version 8.634.1 * and AMD is at version * _8.801_* with their AMD Catalyst 10.12 software suite.

  I know laptops are not updates as much as a normal desktop pc, but it would be nice to receive updates that came out for the products that we bought.

  If possible could someone direct me, so that I can get the driver for Windows and Ubuntu?
