I spent at synaptics and downloaded their drivers and they do always not so I think I need more than just a driver. I need help!

    Hello I Saenz,

When you purchased the computer first you did a set of recovery discs? Normally, you are requested to make a record of recovery "of the applications and drivers. The Synaptics application should be on it. Try the Compaq site to see if it is available there. I recently bought a Packard Bell (Acer) laptop and I always remove any OEM operating system and install my own full commercial copy of the operating system. However, before doing so, I always do a put reocvery disc so I can return the rear machine factory if I need to sell the machine afterwards. Of course, install the new opertaing system meant that I too lost the use of the touch pad. However, by inserting my drivers and demand recovery disk, I could re - install the synaptic software.

The alternative is to restore the machine in factory conditions, ensuring that you backup the files/folders/documents that are important before you do. You should consult your user manual to find out how to restore the original configuration. You can, however, re - install all the software that you added after you bought your machine.

I don't know what OS you have, but you can select here, then you should see the list of drivers available for download.  It will be inside the section, 'driver - keyboard, mouse and input devices.

You can also use Recovery Manager to restore your software and drivers.

    Model - Qosmio X 500-116 (windows 7)

    Hi all

I m occasional annoying problems with my Synaptics touchpad V7.2

Every now and again the Pinch Zoom on Synaptics Touchpad does not work (it happens about once every 5 cycles). When this happens, I m impossible to enlarge/reduce the size of the screen of internet browsers or msoffice documents. Although I can still use the keyboard to increase or decrease the size.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver it came with (version - 13.2.7.3) but the problem remains the same.

I checked Toshiba site for the Synaptics Driver updates for my machine. It lists my current driver 13.2.7.3 and also another version of the 14.0.15.0 driver.

I figured that I d try to install version 14.0.15.0, that he went through the motions of the facility, then at the end, that nothing happened and he n t installed. So I went back to version 13.2.7.3

Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated!

    Kind regards

  • HP ENVY M6-1105dx: Synaptics Touchpad freezes briefly after typing

The touchpad of my HP Envy M6 1105dx hangs for several seconds after you type on the keyboard, each time. This problem started after I upgraded to windows 10. My drivers are up to date. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but that has not worked. I would rather not reinstall windows if I didn't, so I decided to come here. All advice is appreciated.

Hey, I had the same problem and it's really frustrating.

Here's what I did to solve the problem, I hope it helps.

Open 'Control Panel' by clicking on search and enter the control panel.

Then, open "Synaptics Touchpad", it will have a version number after it I think. Mine did.

Then click Advanced in the upper tabs.

Then you should see that a "filter activation time" set it to zero seconds.

Test now by typing and then move the mouse and see if that fixes the problem... it's me.

  • The faulty Synaptics Touchpad on x 2 13-m121sa Split driver causing frost and lack of response from the mouse

Edit: I found a solution, scroll down.

I had problems with my new Split x 2 similar to those already explained in the forums by other users. The symptoms are:

    1. unusual hanging or freezing of the mouse pointer on the screen and the use of gestures temperament (two fingers to scroll, zoom, etc.).

    2. slowdown in the computer in general; acting lethargic and freezing during light use or after closing the display.

The symptoms seem to change according to the duration of the computer was operated and are affected by the screen from the dock of disconnection/reconnection.

Being very good with these things, I decided to investigate and discovered the following:

The root cause of both problems is the driver for the Synaptics Touchpad. While the latest version available on the HP website (17.0.10.9) seems to solve all unusual freezing of the pointer it has a large memory leak. In other words, when you move it on the touchpad pointer uses the memory of the computer. This is normal, but the problem is that the driver for the touchpad does not return memory; It cannot be reassigned. In other words, after a few hours of computer use (or to have the display closed) memory reached saturation point and the version of the computer to a halt.

If you encounter the same problem take a look for yourself: open the Task Manager and look at the performance tab. Under the brief entitled you will find a value for "Non paged pool. With the computer idle, this number will not rise, but move the mouse and you will see it go gradually upwards without return. I have confirmed this to be the Synaptics driver using the Windows tool poolmon.exe - the culprits are the Irp and SynT.

About the solutions, I tried a lot - but there is no absolute solution.

You can uninstall the Synaptics Touchpad driver and the problem will disappear - the memory usage is no longer freezing or high. But unless the driver that the computer is to use the standard Windows driver - there is therefore no multitouch gestures like scroll or zoom in.

I tried to install the generic Synaptics driver available on their site, and the computer will not allow him. Regardless of this, I forced the installation of the driver, but the generic driver does not work with this Touchpad anyway (error code 10). I tried the latest version (17.0.19) and a former one (16.2.21) without success. Even earlier (e.g. 15.x.x) refused to run on the grounds of incompatibility.

HP support suggested a "Refresh" of system setting to factory, but put aside from the huge inconvenience of time and losing files - I know that this does not work either. Apparently a clean install worked for a single user - but for this you need an installation of Windows or USB disc that I did not - and I am skeptical that it would work anyway.

So now I use the touchpad driver Windows standard without being able to scroll, zoom or use them slide-in gestures of Windows 8.1.

If a representative from HP is reading this, I strongly suggest that this issue be escalated. A simple update to Synaptics could solve this problem which is causing the computers people freeze and lose your support staff time.

TL; DR: Driver HP Touchpad is defective and causes a memory leak. Synaptics has generic drivers do not work. And the standard Windows drivers are not satisfactory.

    SOLVED!

Through my own research I found a solution. While the most recent driver listed under this model is 17.0.10.9 it is actually a newer version which doesn't have this problem: version 17.0.10.16!

I am always disappointed that HP has not suggest this solution themselves, given this driver was published in November 2013! HP if you're reading this: Please allow this driver for this model in your support pages.

In any case, the solution is:

    1. open Device Manager (Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Device Manager)

2 in the 'mice and other pointing devices' open «HID Synaptics TouchPad»

    3. in the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".

    4. the pointer will disappear - restart the computer

    5. download the new driver from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk & lc = on & softwareitem = ob-127354-1

(if that link fails try to search online for 'synaptics driver 17.0.10.16')

    6. open and install the driver

I hope this helps. HP, please send my consulting fees through PayPal (!)

  • My synaptics touchpad will not work

My synaptics touchpad does not work I uninstalled and did everything in the control panel but I don't know what to do.

    Please help me.

    How to operate?

    Hello

First, it would really help to know something more on the model of the laptop, installed windows OS, etc.

Have you tried to activate the touchpad through Fn + F9?

  • Satellite L955 - 10K - Synaptics Touchpad Driver is not working properly

    Hello, ASRR here.

I had a problem with my driver for the Synaptics touchpad yesterday. I'm very used to use the "gestures" to work with my touchpad and the gestures did not work properly (in fact at all) for a while. Scrolling with two fingers, three fingers touch and others (in fact all the gestures) no longer work.

The cursor moves, and works fine but not gestures.

When I go to mouse option in the Control Panel, a window appears indicating that the PC is "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver." and asks me if I want to uninstall.

I have tried to uninstall, and then go on to Toshiba support page and download a driver that has been adapted for my model, operating system, etc..

When I implemented the driver I downloaded and restart the PC, the same window appears when I try to go in mouse options in Control Panel and gestures don't work.

An interesting thing I noticed though, is the fact that when I back the driver (in the settings to properties then Hardware) gestures do FINE. However, as he always asks you to restart the computer for Rolling back the driver will take place, when I restart it, it defines the Microsoft 2006 touchpad driver. who does not understand the gestures that I need.

I tried several times to fix it, but I can't. I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.

I really don't know what to do. Could someone please help?

My Toshiba model is a Satellite L-955-10 K with a 64-bit processor and system of operating Windows 8 initially installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    > I went the UEFI firmware set up and tried to restore default but without success.
How to understand this? Have you tried to put your laptop to factory settings?
To be honest I don't understand what the problem is here. I also thought that the new driver installation can help but obviously it didn't help much.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but you can set laptop to factory again and I hope that everything will work properly again. Before doing this test also to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore option.

One last thing: it has nothing to do with your touchpad problem, but I recommend you create a recovery (recovery backup image) using pre-installed recovery media creator media.

    my laptop is pavilion g6-1150sx

    Hello

It seems that the generic Synaptics driver does not support this function if you want that this possibility of return, so you'll need to reinstall the version of HP as follows.

First, download the installer of the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Driver Synaptics - Windows 7.

    Driver Synaptics - Windows 8.

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.
