Re: Driver Toshiba USA link is dead - function key Utlity v1.1.04.03

Sorry for this thread
But I tried to search for this version with no luck, and the download page says it is, but when it tries to download it always says the file does not exist

Here is the message:

Thanks in advance

This driver link belongs to the Toshiba USA driver page. http://support.Toshiba.com/support/drivers
It's Toshiba EU forum and so you should post these questions in the forum Toshiba USA:
http://forums.Toshiba.com/

But I think that the link isn't valid more and you have to go to the page of the Toshiba USA driver and to check links to drive invalid

  • Qosmio X 870-F special function keys not working not

    Hello

I just got my laptop (windows 8.1) repaired with replacement being installed equipment. Something I noticed only worse is how the brightness F keys do not respond. The F2 and F3 keys work themselves, but not the special function. It's really weird that others work very well, as the volume.

I tried to uninstall/install two DLC driver (was utilitarian value Toshiba or something but I can't remember names are the other was literally the wording of the keys/keyboard fn or f in there). It did not work.

Can anyone help solve this for me? I don't know what windows 10 comes along it all reset and hopefully work again, but this is a very niggling nuisance at the moment.

  • Toggle function key / FN permanent Satellite L50-C-20W - win 10

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite L50-C-20W with Windows 10. The default behavior of the function keys is functions like volume, toggle WiFi, etc.. \
To use F1, F2 etc we need to press the FN key. Very annoying when not used. Display dimming always when I want to change the field (F2).

    How to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.
    Theo

    Hi Theo,.
beginning of > applications > TOSHIBA > system settings.
Select [function keys], here you will find the options [SPECIAL KEY MODE] and [KEY NORMAL MODE].
With NORMAL MODE KEY (F1 - F12), normal F1... F12 features are turned on without pressing the [FN] key first.

Pls don't mind if the appellation of the options is a little different, I translated, because I have an installation of the German system.

I hope I could help, Dieter

  • Satellite L850 - special function key not working not properly

    Hello world

I had Satellite L850 bite of windows 8 64 (pskg8a-07f001) running for only 2 months.
Only within this week, the special function key does not work do not, whenever I start the pc, I have to go into toshiba assist office then the function key, and then click ok, it will work.

But the touchpad has been defined as licence also under keyboard setting was defined as special function mode. But don't know why every time you start the pc must go in the function key box, and then click ok.

When I bought everything is ok, I can use the special function key to turn, up and down the volume and disable wireless... etc.

    Please notify. Thks a lot!

    Have a look here:
Function key change to Satellite and Qosmio 800 series
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2903E00000R01.htm

You can use the traditional keys FN + F mode or just a F key mode.
This can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS or the HWSetup

In BIOS go to Advanced-> system-> the function mode button configuration
    This mode can be changed
Also remember that the function button is activated too

  • Re: Function keys issue in Toshiba M50DA103 with Linux

    Hi all

I bought this Toshiba M50DA103 to eventually eliminate the pre-installed Windows 8 and install my flavor of Linux on it instead. However, there is a problem annoying with the function keys, a problem that appeared after I installed Ubuntu Linux. The function keys appear to all foires (the key which is supposed to increase the brightness suspends the computer instead, and so on.)

First of all, I thought that this could be a problem with Ubuntu only, but then I tried to boot Fedora, and the problem is always the same. That being said, it could be a matter of core, or a problem of hardware compatibility.

Could you please give me some ideas on what I can do to fix it? In fact, I have discussed this matter with the Ubuntu forums guys, but could not reach a solution.

    Please help, if possible.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I tried to understand the situation of the hotkey and belive it works like this:

The kernel has a certain driver, toshiba_acpi, who handles the events from the keyboard shortcut key.
The driver is for a reason any confused about the layout of shortcut keys.
I think that most of the distros uses the same driver for the kernel, so it won't do much good to exchange for another.

You mention the unit suspended when it is supposed to reduce the brightness.
This is how was the plu layout of Toshiba - FN + F3 = standby, hibernation = FN + F4.

So what is happening is that the driver react the "old way".

I reached out to the maintainer of the pilot to ask questions about how it works.
Don't expect miracles or even any improvement at all.
But if we are lucky, we can find the roommate of changes.

  • Satellite Pro A120-10W - function keys not working not not from the cloth of hard drive

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A120-10W under Windows XP Pro SP3, and just had my hard drive erased, because of virus. Everything seems to work fine, but I can't use function keys to change the brightness etc. I looked in various forums help however most seem to give answers for Windows 7 or vista. 7
    Can someone please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

As you can see in other threads, you need special drivers/tools for the keys FN get their work because there is no standard Windows driver for these keys.

In any case, you must download the common Modules like Akuma wrote. After installing the key should start working again.
You can download the tools on the official website of Toshiba.

If you have problems with the installation or it succeeded, just after a few comments. ;)

  • Satellite P50 - Hotkeys / - function keys - Toshiba System Settings/keyboard

    I just received a P50 A 144 Satellite with Windows 8.1.

The keypad has typical F keys with Specialfunctions (mute, Volume, WiFi,...). After unpacking and booting the laptop all the function keys (F1 to F12) worked. After you have installed last as drivers Hard - and Software on the Toshiba Site the function keys no longer work. Only the Volume up and down function still works, while pressing the FN key (normally, this works without pressing the FN key).

I checked Toshiba's system settings and the keyboard settings haven't changed. They are always on 'Specialfunctions' (so I don't normally have to press the FN key). Relocation of several drivers and the installation of the 'Value added package' (Windows 7) has not helped. I don't know what to do and hope you can help me. The functions are practical and it would be boring, if they no longer work.

Please excuse my English. I come from Germany and do not write in English, very often.
    Thank you

    > After installing the most recent drivers for Hard - and Software on the Site of Toshiba, the function keys no longer work.
For stone, that I do not understand why you installed anything, if your laptop comes with preinstalled OS 8.1 version and everything worked properly. Don't change anything if there is no reason for this.

My advice to you is: create a media recovery and after having made this original version of the OS install again. You can do this by using the created disc or HARD drive recovery option.

If it is formatted to NTFS, it is likely that your third-party software installed to write NTFS must be updated to El Capitan.

  • Equium L20 - Download Driver Toshiba problems

I had to install a new installation of Windows XP Edition family. Problems with HARD drive and I have no backup discs. No problems with installation. All the Windows updates installed.

The question that I find now has loading drivers. In the Device Manager I have three drivers with Code 28 (no drivers installed).

    1. video controller
    2. Ethernet controller
    3. s M Bus

Using the Toshiba Equium L20 downloads drivers I can't install the Intel Chipset which I think will allow other devices to have installed the drivers. The Intel Chipset driver starts to download then gives a message to view the reading gave me on how to install the drivers via a different medium (they say floopy) but I can use CD disc or USB key. Problem is that the jargon is well above my head.

I can access the internet with a wired connection, but impossible to use the wireless device (i.e. controller driver Ethernet not installed). All of the other driversdownloaded and work via downloads driver Toshiba.

Can someone tell me how I can get the Chipset Intel driver to install, in secular terms?

In General, all pilots should be available on [Page Driver Toshiba | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp]

    > S M Bus

    1 graphics card driver
    2 driver Lan
3 chipset (it should be chipset)

    Hello

To be honest I do not understand why you want to disable FN keys. For me, it is quite handy and makes use of the laptop more comfortable. In all cases solution given by Akuma is good and easy for you.

BIOS has nothing to with it, but to enter the BIOS settings on this notebook Tecra press the ESC key at startup to the top.
