Re: Equium A100 - 02 k - CPU fan stopped working

Hi guys can all help to repair my Toshiba Equium A100 - 02 k model, it stops automatically every 15 minutes by overheating.
It started after me using compressed air to clean my laptop. I don't know why something went wrong on the inside when I used compressed air to clean near the fan at the bottom of my laptop.

could someone suggest me wat I can do in this situation, should I open the laptop and change the fan or is it possible.
If I have to open so please let me know how to do this.

Thanks and greetings

Hello!

I think that this question can be easily answered: the fan must be exchanged if it s does not.

Of course you can do it by yourself, but disassemble the laptop is a bit tricky and you have to remove a lot of screws and parts. I put t know if you have enough experience to this
If this isn't the case, you can contact the nearest authorized service provider. Technicians can do for you and on the Toshiba site, you can search the nearest ASP:

Good bye

1 TB WD Scorpio blue HARD drive

Computer laptop with 200mm fan cooling pad

    Some USB devices

    Latest drivers and BIOS

Note: This problem also occurs with Windows 8.

For the last year my HP Pavilion dv5237cl turned off because of the fan does not work.  I have never seen the term "Thermal event" displayed prior to or on restart.  Usually just abruptly, he died.   I also saw a few BSOD that are not very descriptive to pointing to what the cause was and may be not related.  The laptop usually just stops working and goes out, maybe once every couple of days if it is caught in time.  I HAV been using a Defragmenter memory to help as appropriate the BSOD were due to low memory resources.  I am tracking the temperature of the CPU and have noticed that it is high, when the fan is not working.  I saw up to 85 C and I'm not sure but think that the laptop stops at 100 ° C.  The fan is usually always go at least to a low hum.  Usually, on startup, I get a strong burst of activity fan and if this isn't the case I'm clued in to a fan, not to exploit the condition.

If I take a PIN regularly and carefully stitch it through the opening in the fan and cause rotate the blades of the fan, the fan will usually start working.  It sometimes takes a few tries.  I noticed the fan poll as it is sometimes wobbling and resembling a noise of ball bearing, but I think it is also maybe a hinged fan.  Some hopping may be due to the time that I used the pin code.  Fan usually settled in a low purr and lately with some ball light bering sound, maybe just wobble.  If I'm not there when the fan stops working or do not notice to try to remedy with a PIN, then the laptop stops due to excessive heat.

Things I've tried or thought of trying:

-J' I used canned and out air / blow accumulated debri from inside the vacuum cleaner to suck up and cleaned the vents.

-J' I add the cooler that keeps time less around 5 c.  The laptop temperature was 55 to 62 C this winter.

-Install the latest drivers and BIOS.

    -Tried to use Windows 8.

-J' bought a replacement fan but did not want to disassemble the laptop to install it and also not be

not know if it is really a material fan or a control sensor or other hardware problem or software problem.

Thanks in advance.  Help to solve this problem would be appreciated.

I understand that your laptop stops due to overheating.

Given the behavior and how the fan no longer works and must be "started" once again, this does not sound like a fan failure.  Page 5-60 of this guide details the process of replacing the fan and the heatsink in Notepad.  If this is something you'd rather not do it yourself, you could contact a local PC shop for the fan and the heat sink replaced.

  • 13 yoga fans stopped working

Today in my Yoga fans stopped working. Anyone know what could be the problem and how to make them work again. My Yoga is now warm enough. Some bios settings? Something is reset in Windows? I tried reset bios and windows several times, but the fans never start. They are completely dead.

Problem solved. Restarting windows, the default settings in the bios, the bios options for managing thermal, flashing the bios did not help. But dry battery and restarting of yoga has helped

  • CPU fan stops spinning after reaching 75 OC on HP Pavilion dv6-6169er

My HP Pavilion dv6-6169er (Core i5 2410M and AMD 6770 M) overheating in games or other heavy duty applications. The fan works fine until the temperature reaches 75 OC. After that it shuts down completely. The only way to get new spin is to stop the laptop and wait for it to cool down. If I try to turn it on before he gets cool I get a right system fan error after bios initializes.

This laptop is 1 year old and my warranty has expired, so I'd appreciate any help.

I thought it was dust or something like that so I disassembled the computer. But it was quite clean inside (good job HP actually!). The only thing I have not tried, it replaces the thermal interface.

Someone at - it had similar problems? It seems that the fan stops turning due to overheat (can't imagine anything more stupid). Thanks for any help in advance!

    Good job...

BIOS HP has been "dumbed down" - some of these typical options, we can if expect to see in a BIOS are not available.  We can speculate on the reasons.

Time of development of the system: replace all what you can without breaking something else.

If you are going to take seriously on parts snatching (continued), make sure you have a backup of the complete picture.  The Windows backup and restore program that will do it for you.  The version of Windows 7 is pretty good; I have an image still fails.  You can depend on the recovery disc for the recovery of the OS, even if these can be a little less reliable (in MY opinion) AND, of course, we must make them in the first place - so many people think that these things AFTER the fact.  The smile.  I am ex - IT... I think that the best backups.

Here is a complete backup solution that has recently caught my attention - little of these things done because for some reason, they always fall into disgrace (failure at work, difficult, complicated, cost money, irritating, stranger, not Linux...).  You could take a look and see if it looks like something interesting.  For Windows / Linux.

Redo backup - recovery - Bare Metal Restore

    ===================================================================================

If you can get a cooler under this area, you might be able to shatter the CPU spent 50% until you can get things repaired... The typical cost of these things is something between US $20 and more.  Think in the range of US $50, one who possesses a fan with variable speed, one On / Off switch and some level of craftsmanship that will last longer than necessary so that the shipping box to take to the recycling bin.  For so much money, you can even get two fans - number of fans is NOT important as the quality, placement of fan and quality, building product, and you think of the overall unit - looks, weight, size, material, feel.  It's not rocket science - just expect to see a BUNCH of refrigerators on the market and expect to spend a few minutes by selecting one you like.  The smile.

I appreciate the comments - and others will, too.  "A picture is worth" and all that.  Many people have problems similar to this one - Visual AIDS are useful.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro M70 - cooling fan stopped working

    Hello

I have a laptop M70, I have recently identified as not very hot when in use. I have now identified that the fan has stopped working.

Any ideas how I can get this fan, so I give it a clean and check that the connected fan isn't loose etc.?

    Thank you

Are you sure that your cooling module has stopped working 100%?
Maybe the cooling module is ok but cannot run with maximum performance and can not cool the CPU correctly because of the dust and debris inside the laptop?
What do you think of this theory?

I can tell you that I read a lot of stories and gossip on overheating problems and be more honest to these issues could be solved by cleaning fans.

I clean my cooling fans from time to time with a jet of compressed air.
These sprays are professional tools and can be purchased in most dealers specialized computers.

But if the fan has stopped working and then a jet of compressed air will not help you.
In this case, a technician must check the laptop.

Maybe the laptop must completely disassemble to remove and replace the defective part.
This procedure is really tricky and must be performed by a technician for laptop.

    Good luck buddy

  • Tecra A9 - after CPU fan upgrade works constantly at full power

    Hi all

I have 3 Tecra A9 notebook that came with a Core2Duo T7100 clocked at 1.8 Ghz with 2 MB of Cache. Updated every 3 to a T7700 clocked at 2.4 Ghz with 4 MB of Cache. According to Intel, these two processors TDP is 35W. Books don't get really hot and not hot. The CPU FAN starts right full power after the display of the BIOS with the Toshiba Logo screen. Under Bios Version 2.1 on all 3 systems, having the same behavior on all 3 systems. CPU properly recognized under Windows XP, Win7, and Win10. Is it possible to get the adjusted to normal CPU fan? The system isn t is hotter than upgrading the CPU, just for some reason any BIOS has now decided the fan must operate at full power. I even traded one of the CPU Fans with that of a Tecra A10 notebook but had the same effect as with the original fan. Having no idea what I could do. I hope for your help!

    Best regards
    Bornchiller

I think that needs calibration to be performed to configure the table of fan speed.
Toshiba Service Center to do this.

  • Equium A100-147 - sound devices do not work correctly

I've owned an Equium A100-147 for only less than a year.

The problem I have is that if I put pressure on the area around the left speaker (where is the VGA port) there is a substantial "cracking" / rattling noise. The right does not exhibit this problem.

The other day with a same case design (model Satellite A), I got another PC Toshiba laptop and it seems to have a slightly stiffer construction quality.

Is it worth getting it checked under warranty while I still have the warranty? Or am I just too picky?

    See you soon

Interestingly enough, why you support on the area around the speakers. As far as I know the speakers are placed between the keyboard and display and keyboard there is no pressure to the speakers. Very strange method to test the functionality of the laptop! ;)

In any case, you should contact the service because the speaker should be placed and fixed correctly.

  • Equium A100 - s video link did not work

    Dear Forum members

I have an Equium A100 running Vista (home edition).
In the past I had luckily my PC connected to a TV to help to drive a S-video to watch TV programs, DVD etc.

But recently my computer had to be reset to the factory settings and since that time that the s video link didn't work - PC wallpaper displays on the TV but nothing else.
I charge what I hope are the latest appropriate drivers (perhaps the source of the problem) and the display settings appear to be correct.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Ron

    >... the PC wallpaper displayed on the TV but nothing else.
This happens when the option extend the desktop to this monitor is enabled.
If it please enter display properties/settings and make sure that this option is disabled.

  • Equium P200 - recently the webcam has stopped working

I have an Equium P200 under Vista 32 bit-
Recently the web cam stopped working so I tried to reinstall the driver.
I downloaded the driver from Toshiba but it wouldn't install properly, it appears as an unknown device in Device Manager.

I have done some research and there may be a compatibility problem with Vista.

Someone eles has the same problem or can help you?

    Hello

    What webcam do you mean?
Do you mean the webcam Chicony internal or 3rd party external webcam?

The internal Chicony webcam is fully compatible with the Vista operating system and the software/driver should install correctly!

Try to clean the OS using CCLeaner after you remove the software for the webcam of the system.
After the new reboot, download Chicony webcam software again from the page of European driver of Toshiba and try to install it again.

  • Equium A100 - 338 PSAAQE: shortcut keys not working not not after changing Vista to XP

I recently bought a PSAAQE Equium A100-338. It came preloaded with Vista home premium. I removed what I need XP pro. I found all the drivers to get everything works except the shortcut keys. I tried all the drivers available, but none works. Are there other drivers available for the access keys work.

Can anyone provide a url to a site where I can get the driver. Also, why are there no XP driver specific available, it took forever to find all those that I needed. I know a lot of it, specialists and companies that will not use Vista and only allow for XP.

For these features, you have no drivers but Toshiba has designed tools or utilities, but I fear that these tools are not designed for Windows XP Home edition. Not yet.

I believe you when you say that to many it professionals want to use Windows XP Home edition, but if everything works well, but these buttons are not so important to the features of the laptop and any computer can do its job.

  • Satellite A100 - 02L - Media Player has stopped working

I have a Satellite A100 - 02L with Vista. I have there two weeks and media player has stopped working, it won't even open. It worked fine when I bought the laptop but not worked for the past few days.
Does anyone know why it happened or how I might solve this problem?

Maybe a magician can tell you for sure why WMP has stopped working. Who knows what you have done with it?

Try to download and install the latest version. Maybe it will be working again.

  • Satellite A110-351 - fan stopped working

Hi, this is Michael from the Hungary,

There is 1.5 years, I bought an A110-351, last year I had these problems:
1.:when, I turn on my A110, he asks for a bios password. So I contacted my local toshiba authorized service center to solve this problem.
They said that is not covered by the warranty.
So I came and they charged me about 120 USD to remove this password BIOS-thing.
And now when I was looking for new drivers, I noticed my problem in this bulletin (Document ID: 98082361):

".. The appearance of this problem on any particular computer is unpredictable - it may never happen, but it can happen any time the computer is turned on. If this problem occurs, it will be necessary to send the computer to Toshiba authorized service provider, which will fix the problem free of charge for you. »

2: after that, I was happy that I can work with my Toshiba, then an another problem cams:
The fan noise was weird, and after a few days, it is almost stopped working (no significant air ventilation).
So I contacted the service center again, and the others were still mentioned above... charged me again.

Guaranteed, Yes... I have the warranty until 2009-05-09. But I don't think that means anything. So I don't think that I would recommend to anyone I know in the future.

Any response? I made a few mistakes, or what is normal?

    Hello

    You're talking about this document:
_New BIOS corrects market password incorrect prompt_
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/bulletin.jsp?soID=1863789

First of all it is a Toshiba page we and your model of laptop is not referenced, so it's really hard to say if your laptop could be affected...

In addition, the doc also says this:
+ If this problem occurs, it will be necessary to send the computer to Toshiba authorized service provider, which will fix the problem free of charge for you. +

So you have to pay for it I recommend contact the ASP in your country and clarify this issue.

In addition if you warranty is still valid, then the question module cooling must be set free warranty covers replacement of defective parts

    Welcome them

  • Fan stopped working Dell XPS 15z. 2000 Code Validation error - 0511 9216 (HELP!?)

I have a laptop Dell XPS 15z August 2012, and it works fine, until I noticed today that the fan stopped and my laptop was heating and immediately turn off during the games online, or even if I'm playing music with iTunes. He stopped turning since the night of June 1.

I pressed F12 when starting my laptop and ran diagnostics on my laptop and came out with this error.

    Error code: 2000-0511

    Validation: 9216

Please help, I don't have my warranty more... in fact, I think he has done that night there (coincidence?)

    Hi John,.

I too face the same question, got an error code 2000-0511 with a Validation 21926.

    Please suggest.

  • Equium U400-124 easy / multimedia keys stopped working

I recently discovered that the easy keys (soft touch multimedia keys) have stopped working. I've had this laptop for a month and then one day, they stopped resonding they set only occasionally when in a hurry and do not function they are supposed to work. After a recovery of product they started working again and after loading some of my software back on they stopped working again.

To cut a long story short (many recoveries of product!) I took the laptop replacement, now with a new laptop of the same model that the keys have stopped working after one day. I tried the recoveries of new product and it suits it only occasionally but soon stops working again. They don't stop working after you install a specific software and after that I managed to make them work again after based them on everything as many times during the startup. I tried several times re-installation of value-added support package and also to save shortcuts to media to toshiba button in toshiba assist menu to nothing will do.

Does anyone know what could be causing that two of these models, I had so maybe I'm not alone with this problem or know any better drivers for these keys as I suspect, this is some sort of driver problem before I have to take this second laptop back and get a different model now is come / manufacturer?

    Hello

I'm not very well why you Toshiba control buttons were off work of m.
But in my opinion, it would be possible that something (of the 3rd party software application) messed with the registry keys and entries.
What you could try to clean the registry and operating system using the free tool called CCleaner.

On the other hand a new BIOS was published on the page of Toshiba. That's why it should also update the BIOS to the latest state.

    Good luck
