Re-install the operating system - Vista drivers?

Hi all

I need to re - install the Vista System 32 - bit OP on my HP S3300t (AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 2.6 GHz, 2.0 GB of memory).

My system has a disk recovery and separate partition.  That seems simple enough.  However, what about drivers?

Best, k

katydidit

The recovery image has all the drivers that have been installed on the PC to the origin.

Here's a download link

    Hello

    Hello

Why disappointed? It is not uncommon that recovery image on laptops (not simply on Toshiba one) contains different applications and software. No one forced to use anything, and you can remove it. I put t know why you think that this is not the same thing but in any case, you can use Microsoft Windows XP edition family CD and install the OS. After that, each driver must be installed separately.

Everything you need you can find on the download page of Toshiba.

    Hello

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I see you want to know if you can install programs on a drive with no operating system.

I wish to inform you that this is possible with only specific programs, which give the user an option to choose where the program is installed.

When a program is installed, it runs in program files, which lies in the operating system drive and can not be moved elsewhere.

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

Disconnect any other (additional) internal hard drives and external USB devices.
Look for any loose hard drive power or cables SATA, graphics card or other power cables.

    First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • Problems with sound after you install the operating system

I have a compaq presario that originally vista os, the system crashed and I could get the recovery work so I installed windows xp and now I'm having problems with the sound. What should I do? I tried to locate the drivers requarding info. I keep getting error messages indicating that I have no audio device. Is it possible to go back to vista? I don't have an instillation cd or recovery for vista cd. Any help would be great.

    Hello

Go to the link drivers HP > search your computer number model > XP OS > download and install the audio drivers.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

If no audio driver XP is available, HP provides them.

Through the installation of XP, you have destroyed the provided HP recovery Partition Vista to reinstall Vista:

Solve a common problem of recovery with the HP Compaq computers.
If the original operating system is changed to a non - Vista OS, the Recovery Manager cannot be started from either the desktop or by pressing f11 at startup. You can use the recovery disk to restore the computer to the original state of Vista. If you are using a non - Vista OS, you can use a third-party partition management program to recover hard disk space.

Contact HP and ask them to send you a set of Vista recovery disks.
Normally, they do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • How can I change the language of the operating system Vista in English

Anyone know if it is possible to change the language in Vista Home Premium, or if it is possible to download a language. I have a laptop that I bought in Spain and thought that I would be able to change the language to Englaish, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case.

I thought it was that a good deal at the time would be be a costly mistake - although I am really happy with the laptop Toshiba, the language causes me problems.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    Hello

Do you want all Windows Vista in English? Well, what to say to my knowledge, you cannot simply pass the language of the OS.
It of only possible to turn the regional and language options for keyboard or the date and time.
But it's not possible to change all writings, menus or titles of the BONES.

In this case, you will need to buy an English version of the Vista operating system and install again!

By the way; Vista offers the function of Windows Vista multilingual user interface but I didn t test m and I do not know if this will change the language on the image of Toshiba Vista not 100%.

  • Not able to re - install the operating system

    Hello

It's on HP Pavilion DV6 laptop.

The laptop has been infected with virus & I had to re - install windows 7.

I used the recovery disc bought from HP which had 2 drives.

During installation, the first disc has been successfully read & when you are prompted for the 2nd, 2nd disc has been inserted. Once this system has continued to recognize the drive. So I had to restart the installation process. But the system does not recognize the discs. Used XP bootable drive also, but it does not work.

PL let me know what needs to be done here.

    Concerning

    Vineet

    Hi, Vineet:

You will need to go through several steps in order to get a XP disc to work on your relatively modern PC.

Sometimes the recovery disks do not work and there is nothing you can do about it. Who knows why?

Here is a workaround that you can use if you can read your 25-character windows product key 7.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
