Re-install Windows after upgradation of hardware

I have a PC with dual boot system with Windows 7 Home Basic and Windows 8 Pro, which are legal and active versions. At the present time, the PC is running on an AMD Athlon X 2 processor.  This processor does not support some important features of Windows 8, I need. I tried to upgrade the hardware and installed a new card mother with Core i3 processor and re-installed both windows. I find that Windows 7 and Windows 8 lost their start-up and cannot be activated with original product keys. The message I get is "significant physical changes have been detected...". ». So, I was forced to go back to the old AMD processor to maintain activation intact, which prevents me from using the important features. Please tell me how I can upgrade my hardware and also keep the activation of two intact windows.

Assuming that Win7 Home Basic has been provided by your PC manufacturer's OEM version and as such cannot be transferred/enabled on new hardware as its related to the original hardware (motherboard)

For Win8, as others have said you activate by phone

    Hi Jeremy,.

Thanks a lot for your help. You're right, I should have said no upgrades and updates.
There were a total of 10 updates:
4 a security updates for Vista,
1 security update for the Microsoft 2010 information access path,
1 day of cumulative security for IE9.
    1 windows Live essential 2011
1 definition update Windows Defender (KB915597)
    1 "" for Office 2010 "
    1 April 2013 malware tool
I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials. I felt that I should not uninstall the updates of security, and the Defender update can not be uninstalled. It made no difference.
I also checked the graphics card and told me that I had the latest version of the software.
Then I checked the configuration of the monitor and graphics card configuration and found I could set the configuration to full frame. I did it and now all is well again.
How and why the full frame disappeared April 16 remains a mystery.
Thank you very much for your information without your help I would have been unable to delve deeply into the system. I learned a lot.

    Hi Randhir_Kr,

Normally when Windows is installed after the "Master Boot Record" of Ubuntu, MBR, will be overwritten. You can boot from a LiveCD and repair the MBR. However, there are 2 different approaches.

  • A loop "Install Windows" after that attempt Windows 7 upgrade

    PC Toshiba laptop: PSLD8U-08201E L355-57907
    CPU: Pentium (R) Dual - Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00GH
    HD: Hitachi HTS543232L9SA00 (S1)
    Optical drive: MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ880ES (S4)
    Memory 3072 MB
    MS Windows Vista

I got this laptop in order to fix it, but all I was told was that before she gave them a message when they started to the top of the machine, he said something about the cd rom is full and cannot accept more information.  But when I received it, I don't have any information like that. They gave me the Toshiba Recovery and Applications/drivers DVD Satellite A100/A105 Series.
I put the disc in, started the F-12 PC clicked selected CD/DVD, recovery of factory default software selected and started. But am some type of error that it could not go on, I do not pay attention to her, then he ran this time to check the system for failures and just try to restore but could not go beyond fixing or restore. So my plan was just to reformat and reinstall with a clean install, because I got the thumb before you go and delete all.

I put the Windows 7 installation cd and comes to a window with the title "Windows Installer" (the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.) Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer and then restart the installation.) I click on OK, then he said: Please wait while windows is set up your computer and from here, it gets to the windows blue screen light pet that allows windows, and then starts at the beginning of the boot where it shows Toshiba and you can click on F - 2 for the installation or the F-12 utility, looks like it starts with windows and its animation scroll down with the black screen and then it loops to always with the same Windows "Windows Installer" message.
I tried to switch to F - 2 and set the bios to where it should start with the cd/dvd.
I tried to go to safe mode, but I get the same message.
I tried to go into safe mode with networking
I tried to go into safe mode with command prompt

In advanced after having clicked on F - 8
I tried to activate the video low (680 x 480) resolution
I tried to disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure
I tried the last known good configuration
I tried to disable the Driver Signature Enforcement

After going to safe mode, it happens with title "Windows Installer" window (Windows cannot complete the installation in Mode without failure. To continue installing Windows, restart the computer.) And then it begins the infamous loop.

I placed then all windows 7 content on the USB and set the boot sequence to start with the USB, but received the same error.

I tried again to go to safe mode, and once I got the error I have Shift and F-10.

In the type of line of command devmgmt.msc and press on enter.
If she opens the Device Manager, expand display adapter.
Right-click on the installed graphic card and turn off the device.
Make sure that the graphics card is disabled.
Close all windows and restart the computer.
    Same error loop.
There is no other devices cannot connect to this computer.
When you go to the Device Manager it shows the error of conflict on my graphics card, but I know it's because I turn it off, but it also shows on my network card and the video card.

Now, I'd be happy if I could just format the c: drive and get something installed, even Windows XP.

Totally, I would appreciate if I can get any help on this.

    Ron

If you are not getting paid for it, you may want to have the owner that the equipment tested.  I doubt that all this is due to software on a recovery disc or Windows installation disk.  The prime suspect is the optical drive.  If clean you and problems persist then the unit needs a clean bill of health.

  • Cannot install windows after reset of the partition

I've literally been sitting to my macbook for the last 10 hours trying to get my bootcamp at work, however after tons of things difficult and research I found online I'm always at a loss. Initially, I had installed windows 7 a few weeks ago for the second time (after that yosemite deleted my previous one during the upgrade) and everything was fine. Then, I took the decision to uninstall my windows because I really wanted to expand the size of my partition, then backed up all my files and used bootcamp to delete windows and re partitioning my hard drive to a single volume. However after this, and then following the same exact steps as before (running bootcamp and sharing in a larger space) once the restarts my laptop that it comes up with the message "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key" instead start windows automatically load (as it did before). I've repeated several times in the hope that it would work once however I can't help but feel that there is a problem with my hard drive and when I try to check my hard drive (not the 'Macintosh HD' a top one) sometimes - (I say sometimes because it does not say this error when you try to check) said this :

Audit score card for "APPLE HDD HTS547 * A9E384 Media.

I'm really not good when it comes to such things, so this information can be totally irrelevant, sorry! I had originally check my volumes a recovery when yosemite initially deleted to repartition my hard drive and reinstall windows. I really don't know what to do, any help would be appreciated. I have no knowledge in this subject what so ever but I feel that my hard drive is damaged somewhere (even if yosemite still works perfectly and all my files appear to be intact) or for some reason my boot loaders do not work...

I can provide more information if necessary, but quite frankly, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Thank you for taking the time to read this if you have!

    1. do you use a USB key to install Windows?

2 can you post the output of the following OSX Terminal commands?

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

  • How to install Windows 7 upgrade on a blank hard drive

My previous installation of Windows 7 upgrade on my hard drive that had a Windows XP installed upgrading later had a HD failure. I bought a new HD and have not been able to perform a reinstallation of Windows 7 using either the previous update purchased DVD. How can I install my upgrade to Windows 7 on the new HD?

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    or

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

  • Install Windows 7 upgrade on the new hard drive?

I have the Windows 7 upgrade version that I installed last September, but a few days ago my hard drive died.  How do we install the version 7 upgrade on the new hard drive without using a previous version of windows on it?

In order to install the Windows 7 upgrade version, you must have a system of eligible operating Windows installed and activated.  You cannot install a version upgrade of Windows 7 on a drive blank.  The installation procedure you do not insert a Windows disk in the drive for verification, eligible operating system must be installed.

If you do not have a qualification system of operating Windows installed with an activated genuine license, then you can not use the version upgrade of Windows 7 - you would need a license of Windows 7 "full version".

    In summary:

    1. a Windows operating system to eligible address must be installed.
    2. the Windows operating system to eligible address must have a genuine license (product key) and it must be enabled.
    3. to upgrade, boot on the eligible Windows desktop, insert the Windows 7 upgrade disc in the DVD player.
    4. when the menu appears, select custom (advanced option) to a clean install procedure.

You should be able to repair the installation, if your installation one fall. I suggest create you a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to spare you the trouble if your computer one fall in the future.

You can work around this two ways, I would suggest that you create a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to save you the trouble if your computer loses the system failure or instability. Since you are in possession of a valid license of Windows Vista for this computer, you can use the following method to do a clean install with upgrade support:

You don't say what you upgrade!

    > So why windows can't find hard disk and why can't I start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say why you can not install recovery image. It would be interesting to know if the same thing will happen when you replace the HARD with the same or identical.
This title was the original HARD drive?
If possible, try to get original Microsoft installation disc and check if the HARD drive will be recognized by Vista or Win7 and of course if you will be able to install and boot OS preinstalled.

Regarding the installation of Windows XP Home edition: it is well known that the WXP installation will start properly due to lack of SATA driver that must be loaded prior to installation of WXP begins.
Check out this forum and you will find hundreds of threads with detailed explanation why this happen and what can you do about it.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 ultimate on hardware RAID

I have three 1 to HARD sata drive, in the card mother Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H. I did HDD1 as no raid and two others as mirror leads to the BIOS level using control RAID Utility. But when I try to install Windows 7, in the last step of the installation, I got a message saying that Windows cannot continue. Anyboday have suggestions.

Disconnect the two additional disks, insert the cd of Win, if it finds all remove them all partitions, and then continue the installation (I assumed that the installation correctly identifies the size of the disk)

PS You are aware of the limits of the raid provided by the controller of the motherboard?

Mirror raid is not an alternative to a backup

RAID, provided by the controller of the motherboard is not hardware raid, in the true sense. Hardware RAID is available from a dedicated third-party hardware card.

  • Problem installing Windows 7: upgrade of the disk

    Hello

I have W7 Ultimate upgrade disc and have problems to install.

I installed XP first if I understand that W7 upgrade needs to see an existing version to work.

I then tried to install W7 as a separate operating system, but get the error message using the product key you entered, start the installation on a computer that is running a genuine version of windows. So I guess it isn't recognizing that XP is already installed.

I tried to install W7 startup on XP but W7 so does not recognize the hard drives to install on.

Any suggestions how I can solve this problem.

    Thank you!

All you have to do is just create a virtual machine in Windows 7 and you walk through the Wizard New VM just to leave the empty Windows product key on the Easy Install sheet and keep moving forward.

Then once you have installed VMware Tools just follow the steps in Clean install Windows 7 with upgrade media to activate Windows.
