  First of all, I like the Vista Home Premium, until I had a few problems with my operating system.

  I'm downgrading my laptop for Windows XP SP2 home edition.
  I formatted all the HARD drive, to make a few partitions.
  A few weeks later I tried to Vista using the DVD recovery system which is included in the package when I bought the camera.
  Unfortunately, the DVD without being detected in the first over.

  Do you have any idea how to use this recovery DVD?
  It is any special program to activate the recovery DVDs?

  Secondly, as already described in different threads, you have to boot from the recovery DVD and this will begin the new installation image.

  Usually, you can reinstall Windows drive HARD or Toshiba recovery disc.

  If you n t have it more, you can order the CD from Toshiba. In my opinion you n t pay twice for the same thing because it s not a Toshiba error.

  But some programs I've had has not supported for Vista. It's too bad for me.
  So, I tried to make new partition installed Windows XP SP2.
  The problem is that my Vista not appeared more.
  So I tried to recover my Vista with my recovery disk. But unfortunately, it has not worked at all.

  I'm not quite sure how it works on the American series, but I think that it s not very different from the series HAD m.

  (1) No, you can not divide the HARD disk by using the recovery disk. The recovery disc will format the whole HARD disk and create partitions as at the beginning.
  (2) I doubt you can burn using other 3rd party programs. Toshiba has installed creator Toshiba Recovery disk that should be used to burn the recovery disk
  (3) as I said in point 1-> recovery disk will format the whole HARD drive. It s no matter how many partitions is created on the HARD drive. Everything will be erased

  Just to follow up:

  -Start your laptop and press F12
  -When the boot menu appears recovery media in the optical disc drive
  -Choose the CD/DVD drive on the list and press ENTER
  -Follow the on-screen menu
  -There is nothing, you can choose or define. Just follow the menu and confirm with OK

  After the installation of recovery image let cell phone to complete the installation.

  Satellite A215 is probably a U.S. laptop model. I don't really know if you can find the link to the re-establishment of the order media on Toshiba U.S. page but you can contact the nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help. I'm sure they can order the DVD of original recovery for you.

  1) Fn + F5 does not work... I have 2 monitors and I can't use the Fn + F5 keyboard shortcut... I have downloaded the driver... and other Fn keys work... but not F5... Ive read sound is not possible, but it worked when I installed the plugin on Vista.

  Available pilots were fairly simple, coz there are an only one available for LAN, audio, Hotkeys etc. I so did not have much choice. I also checked for the material they were made and manufacturer who they are (I found the good... for example, the realtek drivers for my device realtek audio...)

  The A215 is a series of portable US and typically you use the Toshiba driver page us in order to get all of the compatible XP drivers.
  There is no guarantee that drivers Toshiba XP from the European page driver Toshiba work fine on the laptop Toshiba us.

  (1) you are right. Change the display control device utility the FN + F5 key combination and the Hotkey Utility are also the FN + F5 combination work.
  This tool is available for some A210 series such as the PSAFGE series. But it does not work on all A210/A215 series.

  (2) this could be a card reader. Check if it s already installed. But note; After installing XP you will always have yellow exclamation points in Device Manager because some hardware rely only on Windows Vista. There is therefore no Windows XP driver.

  (3) in my opinion the Toshiba Software updates for Windows Vista/XP reminds on a few new updates of software available that have been published on the U.S. from Toshiba page.

  (4) I have the same problem and I think there is no way to change this in XP.
  Toshiba utility for XP controls is simply different that the version for Vista and in my eyes there is nothing to do.
