Re: Reporting currency

Hello

The application I'm working on that had two currencies, users need to enter data in both currencies, but when I created a data form with the currency of presentation on the data form will read only, my question is how to enter data with the reporting currency on?

I did the reporting currency referred to as base for the members of the entity currency.

Thank you

Hello
You do not read the data to the reporting currency. Entities are associated with local currencies and make their entries to the ' currency '. Are converted to reporting currency after currency running conversion rule.
If you want to replace it and activate the entry of multiple currencies, you must activate it in the form design. Users select and assign a currency codes to the cells at their entrances. As well as a motto each cell entry is possible.

See you soon,.

  • We can enter data into the reporting currency?

    Hi Experts,

Hyperion Planning version 11.1.2.2, classic Multi money demand.

We have an obligation to enter data into the reporting currency. Is it possible in the schedule?

For example... If we GBPand USD as currency statement, I have an obligation to enter data in GBP and USD for some entities.

    Kindly help me. !

    Thank you

No you're not. In an application of multi currency GBP is a reporting currency. 'Local' is the local currency.

All entities, regardless of their local currency, can enter data only in the "Local".

  • On the interactive report currency symbol

    Hello

I have an interactive report where I showed the book sterlling £ as currency symbol for sal column. By default sing it currency appears as $. To replace it, I used the below stated as a front page header:

run immediately "alter session set NLS_CURRENCY =" £"';"

SAL, column, I gave the below format:

    FML999G999G999G999G990D00

It works very well and shows £ sign with number of salary on each line. The problem starts when I navigate to the next page, because it starts to show $ instead of £ unless I refresh the page.

Can anyone suggest a solution for the problem please?

I don't want to use TO_CHAR to set the currency symbol, because I want to keep the SAL column as a number so that I can sort my data on SAL and I can also group this column.

  • Manuel Conversion monetary vs Multi currency request

    Hello

I was wondering what are the exact changes between the creation of an application as a currency multi early application, be able to enter data in different currencies and running the currency for conversion scripts to display data in the required reporting currency and between creating an application without select the multi currency option and do the necessary conversions at the level of currency dimension and create customized to business rules the necessary conversions.

What is the difference between these 2 options?

    Thank you.

    Hello

with the build-in currency conversion rates are stored in the upper part of the dimensions. I will store them on the artificial limb. Then I can make the only dimension member label and it will be not be combined in a Calc. DIM. This saves time.

Then, there is a standard size on the rate type. Usually, I use another dimension to this.

I can't be generic in my answer, because every application is different. There is no blue print that benefits everyone. There are some concepts, but this goes too far to explain in a forum. This is where conferences like KSCOPE for.

  • Currency conversion

    Hello everyone.

So, I'm on a new effort, learn how to handle the currency conversion. I decided to handle this manually and not through planning. Does anyone have an overview of the tasks at hand? Where to start, and that everything is driven? Examples would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

    -Best regards

Please see the following notes regarding the multi-currency conversion lever. Number 2 is the stage more current that is overlooked.

    1. set up exchange rate tables and enter rates.
2 assign tables exchange rate for the appropriate members of the scenario.
    3. assign the type of appropriate rate (average, thin and historical) to the members of the dimension account.
    4. Enter the base currency appropriate to the members in the dimension marked as the entity dimension.
5 create the currency conversion calc scripts using a refresh.
6 confirm that the rates are in Essbase.
7 run the calculation of hspcrtb.csc/hspcrtt.csc script to push rates on accounts statistics for real accounts. You must run this when rates are entered or modified, when a new account is added or the type of exchange rate is changed for an existing account.
8 run a calculation of currency conversion script to create the reporting currency data.

Also remember that when Exchange rates are pushed to Essbase during the updating process, they are stored in the Essbase application in the intersection below. The key point is that the data is stored in the upper part of the House to some dimensions and if the data storage became an option off store as dynamic Calc and No Store, there is no room for the rate to store.

    Account: Level 0 members (HSP_Historical, HSP_Average, HSP_Ending)
Period: Level 0 members (Jan, Feb,...)
Scenario: Level 0 members (real, Budget,...)
    HSP_Rates: Level 0 members (HSP_Rate_GBP,...)
Currency: The currency Dimension member name
Version: Name of Member of Dimension Version
Entity: Name of Dimension entity member of the

  • On most currencies in Planning

I use planning x 9.3 (yeh..), and have an outline using the UDA of specific currency on the respective entities. The reporting currency is USD.

After reviewing the documentation, Oracle/Hyperion and the entries here, I carefully followed the steps without successful see rate Essbase or calculation of conversions.

    Namely:

    (1) creation / saved the rate table (Administration-> manage Exchange rates).
    (2) created the currency conversion script file (Administration-> manage currency Conversion), designating an applicable scenario/version.
    (3) updated planning (administration-> manage the database-> click on "Database"-> Refresh)

The two scripts of calc - "HspCRtb" and the one I named in step 2, above - are listed for the Essbase database.

With the help of Esscmd, I next
    4) ran the calc "HspCRtb."
    (5) run the calc script created in step 2

The two Calc completed without error.

Nada. The amounts them are not converted in USD. The rates themselves do not seem to be found anywhere in the database.

Could I get clarification on some terms seen in some messages and comments?

    More precisely:
-' Push rates to Essbase' and 'set the rates to a scenario. Are these expressions referring to step 2, above?

-Where the devil should rates is available in the database? I tried to recover to the level parent for all sparse dimensions (entity, product, script, Version, etc.), none of which are dynamic Calc. The HSP_Average is used for account, and for currency, I switched between Local and USD. Year and period of dimensions are defined according to the case. All members of the "HSP_Rate_xxx" are listed in the lines. Still not find rates.

On a tangent, I looked at the properties of database in environmental assessments, and on the currency, tab I see 'database of currency' said 'None' and the 'member of default currency' also says 'None '. But I understand that this information applies to the "pure" (i.e. non-planification) Essbase cubes.

I must be overlooking something really obvious...

    The tips are greatly appreciated.

Select the scenario to which you set the Currency Table, the year for which you have entered rates, periods for which you have entered data, auditors find all HSP_Average, HSP_Ending, etc., and for HSP_Rates dimension select the HSP_Rate_XXX (whatever you have currencies).

For all other dimensions, select the Member above the page and retrieve to view the exchange rate is entered.

  • Configuration of global currencies in Apps BI 7.9.6 for EBS 11.5.10 Source

    Hi all

After reviewing the section Configuration of common areas and Dimensions of the Oracle BI Applications document [Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Configuration Guide for Informatica PowerCenter users Version 7.9.6 E14216-01 | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14223_01/bia.796/e14216.pdf] I have a question about article + 3.1.2 How currencies to configure global +.

    Background

OLTP Source: Oracle eBusiness Suite 11.5.10
    OBI Apps: Financial analytics 7.9.6

We have 49 currencies activated and several sets of books (sobs) each with a different functional currency and I am concerned about the limits of global currencies within the OBI Apps configuration. Documentation, it states that:
Global currencies. Oracle BI Applications provides three global currencies, which are the common currencies used by the Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse.
I am curious to know if the 3 currencies global standard can be extended by adding more custom settings in the settings of the Source system, for example $$ GLOBAL4_CURR_CODE, $$ GLOBAL5_CURR_CODE, etc. and corresponding Exchange settings $$ GLOBAL4_RATE_TYPE, etc.

The definition of Documentdocumentation, the Local and the Global currencies, the following configuration for global currencies makes no sense:
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE (for the document currency).

    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE (for the local currency).

    $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE (for the global currency).
Without doubt, these must be the 3 standard Definitions of global currency. If so, I want to confirm that local currencies and Document get picked up automatically depending on your configuration of EBS?

Thanks for your time, all input greatly appreciated... and the points awarded properly :-)

    Have a great day.

    Kind regards
    Gary.

    Hello

3 global currency codes are different than the local, functional currency.
All transactions are entered into the warehouse and there is no limit to the number of currencies that can be worn in front but for reporting the end you want to convert all of these transactions in multiple currencies to the single currency... .lets say US$ and a monthly rate or GBP to a place rate etc...

So in summary document and the local currenclies come and there is no configuration required but translation to a global reporting currency and rates during which his converted is determined by what you provide in the CAD... the conversion is made by mplt_currency_conversion which is present in each fact mapping.

  • currency in hyperion planning

    Hi all

can someone explain the currency conversion in the planning of the hyperio.

    Amru

    Hello

Let me explain and hope this other post help also in the future.

1 dimension currency comes into play in multi currency applications.
    2 HSP_Rates Simensions
    HSP_Rates
    -HSP_InputValue
    -HSP_InputCurrency

Here, HSP_InputValue is maybe 500, and HSP_InputCurrency could be USD or INR.

    3. here you enter the exchange rate for a currency conversion to others. Planning then converts the currency (the currency you want to see in you, final reports) with the help of the triangulation.

    4. to explain the triangulation, let me explain with an example:
USD is the currency of the application and the reporting currency is EUR. One enters 1.8 as the INR to USD conversion rate to 1.6 as the EUR to USD conversion rate. To find the rate of convertin INR EUR, planning divides rate INR by EUR rate ie 1.8 / 1.6 =...

    5.HSP_Rates
    HSP_InputValue
    HSP_InputCurrency
    HSP_Rate_USD
    HSP_Rate_EUR
    HSP_Rate_INR
    ---
    ---

    6. these Member HSP_Rates, they store the data that gets the report database tables exchange rate

I hope this helps in your understanding.

What is a multi currency application? If for data entry is done locally. After entering data, you can run the currency conversion script to move it into the reporting currency.

You are certainly JPY exists in essbase application, go in eas and open the contour and check.
There may be in the planning, but if it is not defined as a reporting currency, then there is in essbase.

  • CLAC script does not

    Hi all

Ive created a form of data with multiple reporting currencies page POV. Ive joined currencies generated automatically to the form conversion script and it works very well when used by admin.
Now I've created a user, he set up with a role of Planner for this App. gave him a write access to all of the dimensions and the dataform as well. When I connect with his ID, am able to enter into the form input data and save it. and the screen displays a success message that the rules have been executed. But when I change the POV of a currency of various his only shows don't not all values. His work very well for admin. Is this a problem with the access of supply or dimension or something else?

    FYI,.
When I opened the forms using smartview for the same user, to calculate tab, the user is not able to see the scripts created currency conversion, while the admin user is able to see.

    Thank you

Published by: foolishguy on Sep 12, 2011 10:26

When you say conversion of currencies automatically generated script, it's the CurrCo calculation script that is created from administrative-> manage-> Currency Conversion
Or you talk on dataform one.?

    1)

If it's a calc script then you will need to provide access to this user via the Regional service

Connect to EAS - expand the Essbase Server
Go to security-> do a right click on the user and display
Select the user and edit access, and then select the Application Calc Script--> database

Then, the user will be able to see this script on the Web form, if it is attached to.

    (2) if it is then don't split up no need to provide access, it is any user with access Planner/Essbase write access

  • Differences in exchange rates between primary and secondary school in general ledger

We have a little problem on our hands... we are implementing two great books with display dynamic, primary secondary and Canadian Dollar in USD.

Exchange rate variances occur if for example, we consider significant operations at different points in time. We have no problem at the primary level. However, CAD to USD exchange rates are updated on a monthly basis and most likely, rates change in the month. Therefore, exchange rate differentials would happen frequently in the secondary accounts.

We were asked by senior management, how these gaps would be treated by the EBS. I was wondering if you have any ideas that we are looking at events from accounting to ALS.

    Thank you

    Sanjib

If the need was for the balance of the Canada and US dollar, you can use the option of Reporting currency instead of secondary accountant.
