Satellite Pro C650 - cannot start Windows more

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 11Z model under Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm not very savvy computer. I can use my computer to perform tasks and use the software, but I m not very got when it comes to computer and tinkering under the hood, somehow.

I was using the laptop yesterday evening to watch a You Tube playlist and was downloading a PDF 29MB file in the background. I have done this kind of thing before and never encountered any problems.

When the download finished (I use Google Chrome) I clicked the button at the bottom left of the screen to open the download. You Tube then frozen.

I could see the little green circle spinning around like loading upward download, but nothing was happening. Then Google Chrome no longer according to the bar at the top of the window.

I tried CTRL + ALT + DEL, but the workload Manager wouldn t. The only thing I could do was turn off the laptop and running again, as it had frozen him completely. When I turned on it again, I had the Windows error recovery menu as shown in the following image.

http://www.TechJaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Win7-error-recovery.PNG

The problem is that none of these options does nothing. If you choose the recommended option (for example Startup Repair) it comes up with the gray bar saying Windows loads the files and then will just a black screen. By selecting Start Windows normally gets you to the swirling colorful circles that make up the logo Windows and he said: start Windows but still once, it does nothing but just stick to that.

A friend told me that a BIOS reset * may help. However, I don't know how to get the BIOS on the laptop. He called Insyde H20 installed and I don't see the option to access the BIOS.

Someone at - it ideas as to what could have wrong and how can I fix? I don't have a recovery disc as my laptop was bought for me by a charity. The warranty has expired now so that I can contact t their support line.

To be honest I don't think BIOS has nothing to do with it. Start your laptop and press F8 several times to display the advanced startup options. You will find the option to start the operating system in safe mode.
If please test and let us know what happen when you try to do.

    Hello

You can access the advanced boot menu? If so, you should try to start in charge more than the last known good configuration.
If this is not the only option is to reinstall Windows I think. Therefore, you can take a Microsoft or Toshiba drive. If you don t have the Toshiba disk recovery, contact the service provider authorized in your country.

I think that the recognized HARD wasn t disc because you need SATA drivers. Did you check that?

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A660-158. It has served me less than a week. I think it's the broken hard drive.

    My problem:
Once I start the computer, it started and has worked for a while, but suddenly, there was an error reading that I didn't have the time. Computer has been restarted. And does not load... Until the boot mode does not reach. But the initial test (with logo) succeeded. Takes a long time and finally gives an error:

Cannot start Windows. Maybe it was because of the recent small difference is the hardware or software configuration. To fix this error:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc, restart the computer (the complete transmission wasn't)
    2. choose the language settings, and then click Next.
    3. Select "repair your computer".
If this disk is missing, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer (he turned and said to wear to the DEPOT, but I do not have this feature).

    Hey,.

And why do you think the hard drive is faulty?
Have you ever tried the repair your computer option? Usually with this option you can restore factory in a few minutes.

Also if you have the Toshiba recovery disc you can also restore the factory of this disc. Just boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. You need to do a few clicks only, installation with all the drivers and tools happen automatically.

If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)

  • Satellite C650 cannot start Windows

Hi and thanks for reading this post.

I had a Satellite C650 laptop with Windows 7 and inside the h2o bios, works fine for about a year now. The problem, as this post came yesterday when I was using the laptop as usual. At one point, it seemed that the computer worked very hard (fan noise, could not click on anything) and it lasted about a minute or two until what I tried Ctrl + Alt + Delete, who don't do anything. 5 minutes later an error window pops up saying that CTRL + Atl + Del could not be run at this time. I could not click on anything whatsoever and a s Malwarebyte (anti-malware software) had opened, although I couldn't read what he says since I couldn't click on anything. I held the power until the computer closed and proceeded to restart.

A window asking me if I wanted to start windows normally, I said yes, but after the Toshiba usual loading screen, nothing happened (blue screen dark without the usual windows start icon) I left it running for 15 minutes, but still nothing. He retried a couple of times off the computer with the power button (this time is not to ask me if I wanted to run windows normally) and still the same thing.

For some strange reason, I can not start mode safe mode using f8 because f8 simply do nothing. Tried the f2 boot configuration, but nothing seems to be no relief at the moment.

Thanks a lot if you can provide some tips on how to solve this problem.

    -Vincent

    Hello

Pressing F2 should allow you to access the BIOS.
The F2 key must be pressed immediately after that the laptop has been powered.
It work? You can access the BIOS?

If this is not possible, you can pass the hypothesis that this could be a hardware problem.
In the worst cases that the motherboard may be affected or device connected to the motherboard as RAM.

Solution? Good RAM could be verified using new modules, but if you have no spare parts available for this test, then I recommend to ask a technician for verification of material.

Your warranty is valid? If so, don t waste time and get in touch with the service people.

  • Satellite Pro A120 cannot start when the printer is connected

Hi I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 but I'm having a very strange problem.

I installed my printer - Epson Stylus Photo R300, but now the laptop will not start if the printer is on. When I turn it on the Toshiba screen comes ok, then the Windows XP screen comes with the black background when the blue bar to cross to load Windows but its all disappear and the laptop just hangs and will not!

However, if you turn the printer off and turn the laptop it starts up fine!

Its really the printer which is the cause as its only when I turned it on.

It's never caused this problem with my old PC using Windows XP too.

Any help with a resolution would be greatly appreicated.

    Thank you

    Adam.

How to disconnect the printer during the boot process? ;)

  • Satellite Pro L40 - cannot install Windows XP

Material: Satellite Pro L40, HDD 80 GB, 1.5 GB of RAM

Software: Windows XP + SP2 install CD, floppy disk with AHCI HDD ICH8M_32bit drivers drivers created according to the instructions in "how to install Windows XP on a L40.pd"f of Toshiba (which is pretty outdated by the way!)

Problem: The start is fine, after pressing F6 quick to add drivers is very good, set up windows starts.
Then I get this message on the screen: insert the disc labeled "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" in the A: drive. Press ENTER when you are ready.
This is not mentioned in the installation instructions.

Well, I don't have a disc labeled like that. I only have the disk that I created according to the instructions in the PDF above.
It is already in the drive, so I press ENTER and nothing happens.

My only other option is to quit smoking. Tried to quit smoking and going through the whole process several times - always eventually return to this impasse.

    (sigh)

    Can anyone help? Please?

I think that you have made a mistake, because I never have problems to use the SATA drivers.
Have you tried to do the floppy drive with the drivers and where did you download the drivers? Maybe you should try to download again on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

And have you tried to create your own with the drivers installation disk? You can do this with nLite for example. I prefer this because that is why I n t need an external floppy drive.
    It s worth a try! ;)

  • Satellite Pro M10 cannot start properly - AC LED flashing orange

    Hello

    I have a weird problem that I can't solve.

    (1) when my Satellite Pro M10 the plugged AC adapter and the battery, the AC led is green and battery led is orange.
    (2) when I try to turn it on, several times it not light and the dissepear of leds for 1 or 2 seconds and my AC led flashes orange. Sometimes it lights up as it should be.
    _________
When this problem occurs, it will take a lot of time before it turns normally. I searched the internet for a solution, but I couldn't find one.

I already removed the battery and try to turn it on, but it does not solve the problem. Or when I remove the AC adapter and try to start it on the battery itself.

I also removed the two of them and you press the button power on for 60 seconds. After that, it will sometimes start with mains or battery adapter.

My bios is updated to the latest version. (I've done this when he started only five minutes ago, but the problem is not resolved). I also believe that when the m10 is enabled and when I close it, it crashes also.

Do anyone know how to solve the poblem? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

These problems are very rare and shouldn't t happen if hardware or software is ok.
Power LED blinking orange means there could be a hardware malfunction.
It is a code flashing microphone and a technician can be read.
This code must be translated into the hexadecimal digit.

But for ordinary users it s not able to know what it means. In my opinion a power electronic malfunctions and must be verified by an ASP.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - cannot install Windows XP

    Hello!

I discovered this great forum and wanted to try my luck with the following problem. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!

I do a clean install of Windows XP on my Toshiba Satellite Pro LP20. I don't have the original Windows XP cd that came with the computer, but have you tried many (legitimate) copies of Windows XP with the same result:

The first step of the installation works fine, IE. files are copied from the CD to the hard drive and the computer restarts once the process is complete. However, during the restart to calculate, is wrong on the second phase of the facility (where continues the installation of windows XP graphic), but goes back to the DOS file copy process. This means, even if the files have been successfully copied from the CD to the hard drive, the computer does not recognize that there is a current operating system.

The problem is not in the boot order, like the HARD drive is my number 1 option, and tried without the installation Cd in the drive. In this case the computer says only: "no operating system found".

Where is the problem? Is this a problem of motherboard BIOS, or do you recon that the HARD disk is somehow broken? I know that the problem is not in the XP installation CD, because it works fine on other computers.

    Thank you!

It's not easy to say what is the problem and what are the causes of the problem.
You can try another drive to install Microsoft?

In my opinion, it could be a problem with the HARD drive. Then you should check this with the Drive Fitness Test.
Google for this test, it of quite easy to use.

A message box saying: required A driver of currency for the CD/DVD drive is missing. If you have a driver on floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.

    Hi Peter,.

Try you to an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 at the moment? If Yes, please try a new and clean Windows 7 installation. It work?

Another question: your CD/DVD drive works properly or it appears with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager?
In your case, I would try to remove the drive from Device Manager, then restart the laptop. After that the drive will be recognized automatically.

    Hello

I had a similar problem on my computer but was able to fix it.
I took my CD of Win XP and started the repair console.

Then I used the command Chkdsk and scanned and repair files and sectors on the HARD disk.
Then I used the Fixboot command. He writes a new boot sector on the system partition.
Finally used Fixmbr command that repairs the boot partition's master boot code.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 cannot start - message PXE - E61 and PXE - MOF

My dad just bought me a satellite pro 6100 for United off ebay and when I turn it on the toshiba screen comes up, followed by: PXE - E61 and PXE - MOF. as I am a total blank computer I have not a clue what to do! any ideas...? :)

    Hello Naomi

Don t worry, it sounds not very badly. I think that you will solve this problem by changing some settings in the BIOS. ;)

To my knowledge, this message appears when the LAN option has been fixed at the beginning of the boot order. So solve this problem to get into the BIOS (ESC and F1) and then change the order of Boot CD Drive drive HARD etc...
Please set the LAN at the end.

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600; Cannot load Windows.

A friend recently gave me a refurbished from this laptop model that has been updated with Windows XP Pro and it worked for about a month before a windows system file has been altered. I got a new OS disk and I replaced the file and it worked fine for another month, and when I started it today, it gave me a message saying: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. "and gives me a list of options to reboot. I have not installed anything or nothing changed.

I also tried each of the options and none work. I get a blue screen that flashes for a split second and then he returned to the screen with the restart options.

I tried to go to the BIOS menu and setting up for her to start from the cd drive with the OS disk instead of try to reformat and I get a screen with a short message that says ' Media Test Failure. Check cable"and then returns to the screen with the with the restart options. I'm running out of ideas and anything online that I could find so far has helped. If anyone has any ideas at all, I'd like to hear them.

I want to reformat completely this laptop if it is not too late.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

    Joy

    Hello

Media Test failure. Check cable message appears because cell phone trying to boot from LAN.
Maybe the laptop trying to boot from LAN because the HARD drive is no longer available it could be possible
Have you checked the HARD drive in the BIOS? Please do!
Check if the HARD disk is available in the BIOS
If it s not appear not in the BIOS, then the disk HARD is dead and must be replaced.

PS; You can also change the order start F12 press when the laptop starts upward. Then all the possible boot devices should appear on the screen and you can choose the CD/DVD drive as the boot source.

  • Re: Satellite A100-410 cannot start Windows XP

    Hello

I have a Satellite A100-410 and I can't start over (in safe mode ok). When starting, it shows the XP screen and after 10 seconds, the screen goes black. We have re-installed XP but no use. We checked again and assume that something is wrong with the video card drivers.

So we checked for the last but no use. I can boot the laptop when the video card is uninstalled, so it takes to cause something weird.
Or could it be that the card is broken?

    Hello.

For sure your video card is ok, otherwise you may see white screen after switching on. The problem is in the driver problem. Have you downloaded the Toshiba site display driver?
Maybe there is a conflict of driver. This site http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=1655&file=7&evp=c14f9f3787877ee f9ef4b235b9146e96 stage
Download and install. Then try to reinstall the display driver (if not work, do it in safe mode).

If she's not always you help, do a search for a new iso Windows Xp but not Windows assembly (some guys like to change windows, deleting and adding some files, and then load it. Most of these modified versions are bad).

That's all I can suggest now, sorry if does not work.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro A200 - cannot start with new RAM

I have two of these laptops, both purchased at the same time.
I upgraded to 320 GB hard drive and tried to move the RAM to 4 GB as the spec States can be made.

I used the recommended type of RAM, but the computer does not start with two RAM modules inserted. If I remove one of them, the laptop boots! I thought that I update the BIOS but found the only version available on the download web site is the same as I.

Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

What RAM you bought? I think that the modules are not compatible or your chipset does not support the 4 GB.
Check it with CPU - Z!

You could test the RAM with Memtest86 ([www.memtest86.com]).

I doubt that a BIOS update will solve the problem. A more recent BIOS does not change the decision-making ability and/or supported RAM.
