Re: Satellite L500D prepares to set up very long windows

Prepare to set up windows's been at it for a long time... how long does take?

Hello

Installation and configuration of windows procedure should not last long
I have installed and configured all Windows 7 within 60 minutes.
In case of installation of Toshiba image that could this process took longer thanks to the installation and the configuration of other tools and utilities

If the installation takes too long then it might be possible that the process has failed
I think that the case you shut down the laptop and try again

For this, you can use HARD drive recovery option.
Press F8-> fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery

Welcome them

Well, when I turn on my laptop it took a few minutes (4-5) before even Vista begins to work.

I have this screen where Toshiba check my system and it stay that the audit of about 5 minutes.

I thought that's the problem with Windows, but it's not.

Something with the bios or hard or?

    Help, please

    > I have this screen where Toshiba check my system and it stay that the audit of about 5 minutes.
I think you mean that the Toshiba start screen.
While the Toshiba splash screen is visible, a Power-on self test (POST) runs in the background and checks your hardware to ensure that everything is present and functioning.
The Power-on self test runs very quickly and usually, it does not have a lot of time as in your case 4-5 min.

I guess it takes a little more time because the BIOS research and possible bootable devices test.
I think that you should access the BIOS and it should set the defaults.
Also recommend setting the HARD drive as the first boot device in the BIOS Boot order.
This should help to shorten the search for a possible boot device.

On the other hand, it could also be that your HARD drive is malfunctioning.
This would undoubtedly affect the start-up procedure.

Anyway, as you can see it not easy to say why books starting procedure takes so long and what could be wrong.

Perhaps an ASP is an option for you. The technician can perform some diagnostic tests and could find the reason for you question.

    Good luck buddy

Or is it easy for me to fix it?

Or could I just go out and buy window 7 upgarde and pop in the laptop and install well work?

    Thank you
    Lily

    Hi Lily,

You have used the disk to upgrade to Windows 7 in Toshiba or was it a normal disc of Windows 7 from Microsoft?

In my opinion, this error message means that the file on the disc can t be read properly. Maybe the disc is scratched or your CD/DVD drive doesn't work properly. Have you tried other discs?

  • Satellite L500D-163 - Wireless does not

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L500D-163 (with card wireless 802.11 b/g/n)
Router: Pirelli Discus (having support 802.11 b/g).

    Hello

I bought a portable Toshiba, Satellite L500D-163, two days ago.

Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 10.04, the Wireless does not work. It shows all the available wireless network neighborhood, including mine, but it connects to my network.

I also have an Acer laptop that connects to my network wireless without problem.

I placed the Toshiba laptop side by side with my Acer laptop and tried all the options:
    802 11b, 802.11 g - WEP, WPA, WPA2
with simple passwords of the style: "00000000".

and SSID wireless to the router changed something as simple as "abcde".
Computer Acer laptop connected without problem in all cases, but Toshiba didn't connect.

In Windows 7, the connection information appears as connected but 'Limited' and the software Toshiba says that the laptop is not getting an IP address.

I manually entered the IP address (192.168.1.2), subnet mask (255.255.255.0) and the default gateway (192.168.1.1 router =) below the configuration in Windows 7 wireless card, but it did not work.

The laptop must support Toshiba, or y at - it an incompatibility with my router?

    Thank you.

    Great! Thanks for that!

  • Installation of recovery image on Satellite L500D

Am trying to re - install windows 7 on Satellite L500D. I'm having all kinds of problems with the computer because it has been infected by malware or viruses, don't know that. I have already backed up all my documents, photos and files pst on an external hard drive.

I press '0' when the power and then got the following options.

First option is 32 or 64 bits,
I chose 32 that the vehicle has currently 32-bit installed.
Warns next option, I selected Yes.
Next option is factory default software recovery (Recover State out-of-the-box). or erase the hard drive, I chose the default settings restoring.
    Then there's 3 options,
1 recovery of out-of-the-box-state (System Recovery Options include).
    2. recovery without changing hard drive partitions, or
    3. recover to custom size partition. I thought I chose Option 1, but it shows all partitions will be deleted and you will lose all data on the hard drive.

This means that I will delete the windows installs partition?
    Choose option 2?
Option 2 says "the first partition is deleted and you will lose all data on the partition. I am thinking 2 option?

On a separate issue, I could install the 64 bit version of Windows, if so it would be an advantage?

    Hello

Detailed explanations on the recovery image installation, you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Please check it and I hope you find al the info you need there. I always use Recovery option out-of-box state > system recovery options are included.

Your system is infected of course and you have to complete resettlement in order to not make this so complicated. Back up all your data and install recovery image using option 1. No matter what will be removed and what not. Drive HARD integer should be cleaned.

I recommend you to use the version of 64-bit operating system.
Very nice article about 32 and 64 bit versions OS, you can find here.

  • Satellite L500D Pro - Solution for drivers HD4100

    Problem:
After a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit on the of Satellite L500D Pro vor of the Radeon 4100 drivers cannot be installed.

    Solution:
Just take the 32-bit Windows 7 Toshiba Support drivers and everything works fine.

I spend my afternoon to find a solution to this and although I found many people with the same problem, there is no answer except 'no install windows from the CD of restoration' - which is absolutely no solution!
Then I tried everything that I could imagine and take the 32-bit package has been the salvation.

It should also work on other laptops with the same graphic card.

    Hi Eroghor,

Thanks for sharing this information with us. It s very useful! :)

But why is no recovery disk? It of best that you can do. Pick you up at the factory with all the drivers and tools. So you don t have any problems with the installation of the driver, and you can have fun with Notepad. :)

  • Satellite L500D - 16K - where to find the new updates?

    HY guys,.

When I bought my Satellite L500D - 16K, I complained in forums dedicated to this notebook page contained very few pilots. After some time, a week or two, she 'suddenly' populated with drivers for everything. Now, after verification not for awhile, the model everything just disappeared from the model list! There is no L500D - 16K here!

The automatic detection tool, which has worked before, now says your model is not found. Even if I search by serial number, the system can not find! Is not professional at all.

Any idea where I should look for to see if new updates appeared?

    Hi Glady,

What Toshiba page you are looking for exactly?
AFAIK Satellite L500D - 16K belongs to European laptops models and so you must search on this page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

On the European page click support & downloads > download drivers. The next page you will find:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

He's looking for series Satellite L500D and PSLTHE and you can find the new updates for her! :)

  • Satellite L500D PSLT6A - FN keys and touchpad stopped working

I have a Satellite L500D, model PSLT6A-015003, windows 7 (32 bit) notebook and the keys FN and the touchpad stopped working.

I downloaded from download of Toshiba, the touch pad and the FN key downloads page, but nothing works.

Can someone tell me please how to get this working again, even if it's only the touchpad.

Flash cards are controlled by the utility of Flash cards and this utility is part of the Toshiba value added package. If this package is installed on your machine it remove the system, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba download page.

    Please also follow option:
Open the settings of flash cards and set the option to allow the mouse to make the maps and test if it works.

Please check the touch pad properties. Check if the touchpad is properly listed and enabled in the device (mouse and other pointing devices) Manager.

Second thing you must check is the control panel > mouse > device (last tab) settings. Make sure that the Synaptics touchpad is listed here and it is not disabled.
As last step make sure touchpad is not disabled with the combination of FN keys (if possible).

  • Satellite L500D - cannot install all drivers for Windows 7 64 bit

    Hey,.

the problem is that I installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit yesterday. Before I was using Vista Home Premium 32-Bit, so it must be a clean install. I downloaded all the drivers for my laptop model (Satellite L500D-10R) from the Toshiba site. The problem now is that not everyone can be installed because with several I get the error message, for example with Chip Set Utility I get the error «this system is not satisfying the minimum requirements...» "in addition, when you try to install the Eco utility I get an empy message and stops the installation. What can be the problem here?

And what's with Wi - Fi. When I plug in the ethernet cable to the Internet works correctly, but when I try to connect to my router (the ofc ethernet cable disconnected) he cannot identify my computer and gives me an error of network interface controller and says the reason is 0 x 00028001.

Here is the error message (sorry for the language):
    + Deleted information - non-English language.

    Hi mate,

With regard to the Intel chipset error message I can suggest only install this manual dirver via Device Manager. I had the same problem and if I could install the chipset driver.
    Check this box!

Regarding Eco Utility, you must install all the drivers first, then Tools. Value added should be the first tool of Toshiba you install.

You installed a driver for your wireless network card?

Perhaps you need to restore the factory settings if you are not an expert of installing the driver ;)

  • Satellite L500D - high all the time CPU usage

    Hi guys,.

help a friend with a laptop, the thing was really slow had vista on it, so formatted and installed win7 x 64. It's a toshiba satellite l500d-pslk0a-00r009. Dual core 2.2 ghz. 4 GB RAM. (did a new install not updated)

Even on an installation of vanilla, just running windows only update is trolling the heck out of him. CPU is sitting at 100%, but looking at the process that they all sit at zero. I can't see what process is the cause.

Web browser opening is really offbeat it will freeze and say does not then come back after some time.

temperatures are good (50deg C). Power profile is very good. Even turned off all the animations. always the same question.

RAM usage is less than 20%.

There is certainly a problem with the CPU, I ran the windows performance index, all rated in the Middle 4 except the CPU that qualified 2.0!

I've updated all the drivers etc. What else can I try and do to solve the problem of cpu?

    Hello

Try this: go into Device Manager and expand the entry processor and remove all entries from the CPU. Reboot the laptop.
After that the windows system should recognize the entries deleted once more.

After that I recommend you to check if the CPU performance.

  • How can satellite L500D-11J - I disable the microphone?

    Hello

I have a similar problem with the microphone. All of a sudden he turned on, resonating with the speakers. When skyping it doesn't work anymore. I have a PRO SATELLITE L500D-11J. What should do?

The microphone is integrated with the webcam? How can I set the microphone while keeping speakers on?

    Hey,.

Theoretically the microphone can be disabled in the settings of Windows Volume. That's why you should select the input devices and disable it there all what s! :)

In addition, the microphone is a part of the webcam and this is why you can update the driver for the webcam. Normally the microphone lights up if you use the webcam.

  • Problem of blue screen of Satellite L500D

Hi I have a satellite L500D and screen appears very often blue...
    I have win7 64 bit...

    Any help?

Even if the memtest went correctly, this does not mean that bluescreen isn t related to problems of RAM.

I agree with Akuma: the NTFS.sys file is related to the HARD drive. It may be a HARD drive problem. It could also be a problem in the worst case, the motherboard or RAM.

As you can see, nobody will be able to tell what is causing this BSOD problem.
If you n t replace the unique pieces, you will not be able to find the defective part.

  • Where can I find the drivers of Windows XP Home for Satellite L500D?

Just got my new laptop bueat you. It has AMD processor and stuff and is perfect. But I need to adapt to a new hard drive to install XP as I have always only on Win 7. I couldn't get it to dual boot, more like I do a clean install less all that junk factory installed.
I need XP drivers for the batch. The Australian Toshiba site isn't very useful and ascomprehensive than the United States and I find it difficult to find anything.

Yes I love XP because it has gave me free PCing struggling for a long time. Win7 is good but I need to do a full install of OS and I don't want to wipe WIN 7 either.

So if anyone knows where I can get the drivers made me know. I don't know which ones to go down the American site, their codes of models are different.
I build my own desk tops, so I would have a total control over everything, even this one.

    Hello

I found a few Win XP drivers for some series Satellite L500D on the European driver Toshiba page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

See the page and try to install drivers Win XP only.
All the other missing drivers, you will need to collect clean hands.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite L500D - boot problem after BIOS update

I downloaded the new version of BIOS (v1.4) official Toshiba site to update my computer Satellite L500D (PSLK0A - 00U009). But after the update, Windows 7 cannot start, Windows logo appears for a while then it restarts automatically. Windows then goes into repair mode. I followed the instructions on the screen to fix. But it does not work.
When I reinstalled Windows, the computer worked fine until Windows Update told me to restart the computer. The computer dies again.

I think that this version of BIOS has a problem. I wonder if there is a way to downgrade the BIOS to the earlier version. I found some instructions on the net to use the Phoenix recovery disk, but I have no file disk and BIOS.
    Please Please HELP, very appreciate.

    TKS

Try to install the OS to help original Toshiba recovery image. After disabling automatic Microsoft updates to install. When you get the message about controlled initially available updates and install important updates only.

Check it once more to see if the same thing will happen again. Display the results.
