  I have a cromebook and a HP Officejet 4620. I have no problem with cloud printing, but cannot scan. I tried to type the IP address of the all in one printer in my browser that brings to the top of the web page to the printer but when I hit the scan tab it says that you cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the printer. How do I fix this. I set up the printer and it works well with several computers.

  I appreciate that you try to use Web Scan on your Officejet 4620 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

  To activate the Web scanning:

  1. Open the Web server integrated printer by typing in the IP address of the printer in your address bar.
  2. Click the settings tab.
  3. Click on settings of the administrator on the left.
  4. On the right, make sure that there is a check box for Web Analytics.
  5. Click on apply.

  While you are on this page, I should mention that you do not want to check the lock activate all or control panel. This will make all the features available in the control panel of the printer unusable.

  If I understand correctly, you have a problem with scanning and software necessary. The first hurdle is with the software.

  Unfortunately the software cannot be installed on the operating system Chrome, and can say the same on Android devices. I'm sorry this response seems dark, but all is not lost.

  I wish to address first android devices.

  Yes, they are unable to install the software, but they can install applications (yeay)

  HP has created the all-in - one remote for android devices. It is free and is located in the Google Playstore on both devices. (Android version 4.0 and later)

  You will still not be able to scan from the front panel of your 4630, but load the document in the feeder or place it on the glass as if your were going to analyze this way. Once the document is in places open all-in-one remote printer application.

  The first time you do this, you may need to select your printer. Once this is done, you will see several options, and one that will save the day is scan. Touch and it will scan the document to your tablet. make the necessary modifications, and then save the document or photo.  If you encounter any "hiccups" with it please let me know.

  Now for the book of chrome.

  Bottom line: Chromebooks do not support drivers and printers were not initially designed to work with this particular operating system. It has Webscan. WEBSCAN can have unpredictable results, because it has not been designed with Chromebooks in mind. Scanning from the chromebook is not supported.

  The following steps work on a MAC or PC and may not work with the Chromebook, but it's worth a try.

  1. tap wireless to the printer and take note of the IP address.

  2. open a new browser on the chromebook

  3. in the address bar type the printers ip address and press on enter (return, go, ect...)

  If everything goes as planned you will reach the printers EWS (built-in web server). If you don't let me please know we will have to go through some basic network breakdowns.

  4. once in the SAP, you will be on the home tab, you will see others. Click on the tab labeled Scan

  It's the Webscan.

  If you get a message about it is off, click or tap on the settings tab.

  now touch Security (left column) Please do not get tempted with the section that says password

  I met nothing but misery of pain when a password is added to the printer.

  Then tap Settings administrator, you will now see a small box to the left to check so that webscan can be activated.

  Select the check box, and then click on apply.

  5 adjust the settings and click or press scan at the bottom of the page. Once you see the image on the right, save it. (This is the part that sometimes does not work well on the Chrome OS)

  What I would do, is use the AIO (all-in - One Printer Remote). It has the ability to share the digitized item. What I suggest is your email. Once the item is in your email, you can easily access it from the Chromebook.

  Have you tried scanning with Capture of Image instead? It worked for me.

  Try to run this program, copy and paste the result in a response. The program was created by Etresoft, a regular contributor.  Use please copy and paste the screenshots can be difficult to read.   Open the HP scanning with one of the following methods:

• OfficeJet 8730: Scanning Resolution maximum of scanning with ADF for OfficeJet 8730/40 models

  I found that the reolution max for scanning with the ADF for the 8720 model is 300 dpi.

  The question is whether this limitation is also on 8730/40 models?

  I use a USB cable for the connection.

  On August 31 I got HP Printer Software Update Verson 5.  What is my problem?

  I noticed your post about how you can't scan with your MFP HP Laserjet Pro 177fw on your Mac. And I'm happy to discuss this issue scan for you!

  To confirm that the hardware of the printer is functional, you are able to make a copy with the glass of the scanner of the printer?

  To copy:

  1. load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.

  2. close the scanner.

  3. on the product control panel, press the button number of Copies.

  4. Select the number of copies.

  5. press the black start copy button or the button color launch copy to start copying.

  Let me know if it works, or if you see another error message.

  If the copy works, then try the steps described in this guide, Scanner USB connection is lost (Mac).

  Using the USB connection, you can scan using Windows Fax and Scan software built into your operating system.

• Scanning with HP Scanjet N6310

  I have a HP Scanjet N6310, which is connected to my end 2011 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion. Although the scanner works well, the size of file for each analysis is ridiculously high. A scan of a page of a document is greater than 4.5 MB. When I took the same page to scan with the copier to my office, the size of the scanned page was only 50 KB. The file size of the document scanned with my scanner is ALMOST 100 x larger than the size of the file of the same document scanned at work. I checked my settings and have the preset on 'document' and not 'pictures', 'slides' or 'negative '. Something must be wrong here. Any ideas?

  That did not work. Also, I resumed repair disk permissions and I got this:

  WARNING: SUID 'System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent' file has been modified and will not be repaired.

  I don't know what that means or how to fix, but I think I may need to uninstall and reinstall my printer and scanner drivers.

  If Yes, I think that these drivers I need to install (which include the two that you referred me to in your previous post):

  I see that you are looking in your scanning options. I would try to help.

  Due to the age of the printer, there is no HP software for this printer on Mavericks.  You can, however, use the characters of basic Mac OS and drivers to scan.  I'm including a document on the installation and using the printer on a Macthat should help you to solve this particular section of the document titled "How to scan with Apple software update driver?"
