Re: Tecra M11 - cursor jumps to random locaation when entering

Does anyone know how to turn off the trackpad when you use a mouse, or advise on what the problem is - when I type happily away and I'm fast enough, I suddenly find I type in the middle of what I typed already, instead of at the end of the line as usual. I can't work if there is interference from the trackpad, or I'm hitting something else in error! I tried to turn off the trackpad by using Fn F9, but it doesn't seem to work... there at - it another way to disable it?

Congratulations to all!

Akuma is right. Turn off the touch pad using the FN + F9 key combination and check if it happens again.

    Hi Liz

Because the keyboard is integrated in the housing of the computer laptop, something as simple as the slight vibration when typing can cause the touchpad the cursor or initiate a click, depending on the sensitivity of the touchpad settings.

You must disable the touchpad when typing. Most modern laptops provide an option or a keyboard shortcut to get there.

The following keyboard shortcuts have been known to disable the touchpad on different systems. Press and hold down the Fn key and then press F3, F4, F6, F7, F9, or F12 to disable the Touchpad.

    1. press the Windows Key + X to display the System menu.

    2. Select Control Panel.

    3. Select "display by" in "category to large icons or small icons in the upper right corner.

    4. double-click on 'mouse'.

    5. click on the "device settings" tab (tab can be also named "Touchpad, Synaptics, etc.").

    6. click on "settings".

  • Why my cursor jump around the page when I type

When I type on Word or an e-mail my cursor jumps around the Aalst page all the time. This could be the cause?

    Hi Phil,

    1. what kind of mouse do you use? Wired or wireless?
    2. is it a laptop or desktop?
3 when was the last time it was working fine?

I suggest that you check if the mouse settings are correct.

You can read the following article and check.

Change the settings of the mouse

    Method 2:

Put the computer to boot and then check if the problem persists

Follow step 1 in the link below,
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.
After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Important: n ' forget not to put the computer to a normal startup follow step 7 in the link.

  • Tecra M11 - random crashes with Windows 7

We had a Toshiba Tecra M11 Windows 7 who has a problem in which he randomly falls down, forcing the user to hard it reboot. When it crashes, the fans to the top spin, don't know if that means anything. We tried many things to fix.

At first, we thought it might be overheating, which would explain the fan, but the laptop has been through a 24-hour stress test absolutely perfect with normal temperatures. The laptop is not necesarrily do something stressful when it fails we also tried reinstalling some of the key drivers and also intalled the BIOS more recent (2.60), but still the same problem.

It breaks down up to 2 times per day, but can also go a few days without crashing. It's a very strange problem and we would highly appreciate a fix for it.

    Hello

Maybe it s RAM related question RAM memory may be affected and would force the OS crashing
I put t know if that would be helpful, but try to test the memory, run the memtest86 utility
But note; These controls are not always successful means that even the memory is faulty, the error may not be detected by these software

Have you tried to reinstall the OS?
This should be done as well.

  • Satellite Pro S500 - cursor jumps randomly

I have a Satellite Pro S500. There is a problem with the keyboard. When I type (no matter if I use Word, a web browser or any other application, even if the problem seems to have been particularly serious when you type this particular message) the cursor sometimes (often) randomly climbs: it goes back a few words or it can highlight a random section of text (it also makes no difference if I use a mouse external or not or how heavy/light style typo's).

It was suggested that this may have something to do with the sensitivity of the touchpad; However, reduce its sensitivity had no effect. It is a very annoying problem and would be grateful for any advice.

    Thank you.

    Hi ap4h,

I think you touch the keyboard as you type so you must disable the touchpad tapping function. This can be done in the options of the touchpad driver.

If you use touchpad, install the drivers for the touchpad and try to reduce the sensitivity and check if it helps. Download the drivers from the link below.

  • Cursor jump - is NOT a problem of keyboard!

Windows 8. My mouse jumps at the beginning of almost all fields of text every few seconds. Note that this is not random jumping - the cursor jumps only at the beginning of the field. I say "almost all" because this forum post is the first I've found where it does not. The problem never happens offline programs, the toolbar or login form fields. Only the fields of text in Firefox. Cannot duplicate in Chrome. I was typing stuff in my word processor and then copy and paste to get anything done on my blog or email. Restarted my computer, and then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. No improvement. I tested and is not remotely to a keyboard problem, such as cursor more jump.
