Record missing in system tools

I have 3 account names on my home screen.  I connect as JoanneS but are two other names that appear, which were created when I had my system worked on.  I would rename the JoanneS connect you and remove the other 2 accounts. I'm an administrator, but the users folder does not appear under System Tools, so I can't access one of the newspaper in the elements

I would rename the JoanneS connect you

-> When you rename an account then only you give it a nickname. The original name will remain as it is. To really get an account to your preferred name you must create it under that name, then move your files and folders from the old to the new account. This can be difficult.

and delete the other 2 accounts.

-> Go ahead!

I'm an admin, but the users folder does not appear under System Tools

-> When you write "users folders", do you mean "profile folders? The profile folders exist in C:\Users but only if the user logged on at least once.

-> What do you mean with "System Tools"?

I can't access to the journal in the elements.

-> What paper points are you thinking of?

  • Missing system tools

My system tools folder is empty so that access is more disk cleanup, Defragmenter, System Restore etc. Manually find these somewhere?

    Thank you

Although it is always a good idea to check for malware, please do not upgrade on the spot (aka repair facility), at least not until you have exhausted other options.  In addition, in Windows XP, run the file system (sfc/scannow) checker won't you good at all (it won't hurt either).

The System Tools folder is just a collection of shortcuts (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu demarrer\programmes\accessoires\outils tools).  Unless your computer has been seriously compromised, the tools are still there:

    Defragmenter: %SystemRoot%\system32\dfrg.msc

    Disk Cleanup: %SystemRoot%\system32\cleanmgr.exe

    System Restore: %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

  • System Restore missing on the list of system tools

    Original title: System Restore lost

I have the detector of max secure spyware on my system, he pointed out that my system restore is false and deleted the shortcut of this program. I restored the research program and found. Research says the program should be in system tools but is does not appear here. I ran system restore and it can not restore to an earlier date, it would therefore appear to be fake, I need to reload the system restore. Can you help me in this matter

    Support number: 1163656637

    Hi don evetts,.

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. what happens when you do the system restore?

    3. you receive an error message?

It is possible that some virus or malware infected system restore shortcut and removed.

    Method 1

Refer to the article below and try the steps mentioned, check if it helps.

Steps of troubleshooting for problems when you try to use the System Restore tool in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/302796

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing system restore not working properly.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on Start , then click run.

    2. type msconfig , then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.

    3. click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.

    4. When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

    Method 3

I would also say that you run a virus on the computer scan to remove any malware or virus infection.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

You can also use Microsoft Security databases to scan your computer

  • "Missing operating system" is displayed when you try to start Windows 10

I have been using bootcamp to access the 10 Windows for quite awhile. It was working perfectly until a member of the family installed a Windows Update, but the battery is dead during the update. Following this window would charge any. A black screen with a blinking cursor. After that, I went back on fairing and wrong used the partition synchronization tool. Now, Windows is in a worse state and the "Missing operating system" message when you try to get back in. In addition, the Mac startup disk no longer allows me to reboot the laptop using the bootcamp partition, as if the partition is not more detected. Disk utility simply shows a greyed out "Disk0s4."

  • Error "Missing Operating System".

Hi all. I'm trying to dual boot a 2013 end macbook pro with windows 10 and el capitan. I need to be able to run windows 10 to use some programs required by my University. I was actually able to configure my computer completely, so that it works on both partitions perfectly, but in a few days the windows partition seems to fail. This has happened three times now, and with each failure, I completely deleted the partition and started from scratch. The error I get seems to be completely random and occurs when I turned off my computer, turn it on and try to start the "Windows" partition It reads "_ Missing Operating System".

To install Windows 10 first, I used the boot camp assistant tool to make a partition of 100 GB out of my 500 GB drive. I went through the process of boot camp and created a bootable usb key from the iso image windows 10. I booted from the USB and windows installed and everything worked perfectly. I had to delete the partition generated by the wizard boot camp and create a new space on my disk unallocated hard usb Boot because it would not me to install windows on the partition as boot camp originally created. I installed all the drivers through bootcamp tool which displayed once windows 10 has been installed and all was good. I did all the updates of Windows 10 through the parameters, and then I did all the app store updates. I installed applications base approximately 4; This includes chrome, iTunes and uTorrent.

There seems to be no problem with my el capitan score whatsoever, and I was totally unable to find anything on the internet to help me with this problem. I chatted with support of microsoft and apple support. I was told that "it seems that the operating system on the Windows side is having a problem remaining installation and which is the origin of the problem" apple support. I was also told by microsoft that "maybe microsoft and apple cannot work together in a single machine :-) ».

Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    John

Should I give up trying 10 windows and try to use something like windows 7? Sounds like a problem with Windows 10 or my Macbook? Thank you

    > I have a lot of data and images on the disc that I didn't lose

I have bad news boyfriend. The message missing operating system means that the laptop can not find the operating system on the HARD drive. And do you know why the laptop can not find the OS (operating system)?
Because the HARD drive is DEAD!

I had the same behavior, 2 years ago. My 4 year old HARD drive was dead. It was an accident of the head and I lost all my files :(

But fortunately, I created backups on CD so I could restore my photos and my mp3.

  • Accessories/System Tools

I deleted somehow Accessories/System Tools (i.e., defrag, etc.) my program files folder.  I tried to locate this program in the Windows Download Center, but was unable to do so.

Where and how to find what program to download?  I am running XP with SP3.

    Thank you.  GnirpsNevets

"GnirpsNevets" wrote in the new message: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy... *

Bob, thanks for your response.  I'm a little, ok a lot, computer illiterate and it took me a while to understand how to create a separate shortcut for each of system tools.  But I thought about it.  I created a shortcut to each of the files that you said to do.  However, when I tried to create a shortcut for the backup, I get the following error message; The C:\Windows\system32\ntbackup.exe file is not found.

After that I created shortcuts, I then opened time cleaning disk & both open and Disk Defragmenter and ran.   Any idea on what's wrong with the address of backup?  I copied and pasted your shortcut address would not be misspellings.

    Thanks for your help!

    Gnirps

You use the Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional?

The default Win XP Home Edition does not include the backup utility.  However, you can search your hard disk for a file named ntbackup.exe, to check whether the backup is installed on your computer.  Don't worry, if it is missing.

Either by the way, you will find a complete list of the accessories shortcuts to www.hm2k.com/posts/missing-accessories-shortcuts-from-start-menu-on-windows-xp.

The most important utilities information system, table characters, the restoration of the system, Disk Defragmenter and disk cleanup.  I wouldn't bother to create additional shortcuts for other tools that might be missing (with the possible exception of the utility scheduled tasks).

I hope my answer helped.  If so, please click on the "useful vote" option in desktop and personalization forum computers.

  • M.I.A. system tools!

I was about to do a system restore and when I went to system tools, the only thing that was there was Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). All other options disappeared. I think that this can happen when IE 8 has been downloaded. How can I recover my system tools? I went into the control panel and found that the Administrative Tools page was also empty. What gives?

Under Accessories > system tools, that's all there is.
If your Admin tools are missing from Control Panel, you can get using this article: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/admintools.htm

If you want to go ahead and do a restore of the system first, go to start > run, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and press to enter. Who's going to start restoring the system for you.

  • After a virus, I've lost the system restore for cannot defragment now. Also lost system tools/options.

Original title: after a virus, I've lost the system restore for cannot defragment now

I had a virus which caused problems one of the minor being I've lost the system tools. It now says its empty when I open it.

You don't need system defragmentation tools.

You can defragment from the hard drive, then right-click of your hard drive, properties, tools, defragment now.

Of course, you must fix your missing tools too.

Here's the easiest way I know (thank you, Ramesh):

    http://WindowsXP.MVPs.org/accessories.htm

Part of the answer to the technical support engineer Microsoft does not too which make me think that the MSE has never actually tested this Board to see if it actually works or not.  It's a shame.

In addition, these shortcuts are not part in the folder in any case.  These things must go in the folder for all users - if you don't want your XP to be ignored.  It is a source of embarrassment.

I don't know what you used to remove the virus, but I could do that at some point (soon):

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
  • Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of system tool virus

A computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3 has got a virus System Tool which I believe I deleted using the key of activation and then run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.  On reboot, the system tool icon was still in the system tray, so I ran Norton 360 to remove unwanted registry files.  He got rid of the icon in the system tray.  I also then removed the Malwarebytes software.  Please note that, while I was removing the virus, I was able to connect to AOL so that in mode safe mode with networking.  Finally, who has stopped working.  The Malwarebytes software has been downloaded on the infected computer with a flash drive from a computer with working internet.

I cannot now connect to the internet with Internet Explorer 8 or AOL (under standard or secure modes).  When you are trying to connect with IE8, the message reads 'Internet Explorer cannot display the web page' and when I run the diagnostic tests, it indicates there is a problem with the modem and/or router.  These devices are, however, both the work that there are other computers connected to them and they work.

I tried Microsoft solutions are answers to a similar question.  Unfortunately, none of them worked in my situation.  They have been in accordance with the following:

    No doubt...

What happens when you try to connect to the Internet?

What is your version of XP, the version of Service Pack and IE?

What method did you relieve your system of affection 'Antivir Solution Pro' (how confident you are that you got rid of him)?

Generally, any part of this procedure is necessary after removing Antivir Solution Pro (a well documented removal procedure would have included the steps to cancel Internet connectivity issues).  I would get my infected system and try the procedure you used to see how it works.

If, when you try to connect with Internet Explorer, you see something like:

Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage

    The most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The Web site encounters problems.
There could be a typing error in the address.

We will check your network connection properties.

Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your Internet disabled in certain situations.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Inetcpl.cpl

Click OK to start the network settings of Internet control panel applet properties, connections.

Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.

These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.

On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.

Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checked

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings.  On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.

If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.

On the general tab, click Properties.

In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically.  Select the following two options:

    Obtain an IP address automatically

Get a DNS server address automatically

The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.

Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer and test your connection.

Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Also, I typed cmd in the start run box and the command-line entered ipconfig enough and ipconfig/renew.  This is also not rectify the situation.

For your assistance, the following is a copy of a part of the file that I thought that may be applicable after that I typed in miscinfo32 in start, run box:

You have any ideas that could help me find an internet connection?  Thanks for any help.

The removal of the virus seems to have taken some required system files.  See if the System File Checker helps.  Click Start > run and enter in the field open.

    sfc/scannow

Press ENTER.  The System File Checker must detect the missing necessary files and put back them.  If this does not work, use a system restore point from before you were infected.  If this does not work, get out of your XP installation diskettes.

    Hello

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy to
detect malware is often accompanied by a much more difficult to detect and remove the payload. If its
better to be too full now than to pay the price much later. Check with these extreme
Overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

Tools System 2011 is a fake antivirus, a scam to force you to pay for it, while he has no advantage at all.

  • In Windows XP, the BACKUP utility in system tools requires a floppy disk should be created when you back up an entire volume. Why should a disk be used?

As floppy drive are no longer included in laptops, the use of a USB storage device would make more sense now? Is this possible?

    Richard1952,

Yes, you should be able to select an area on which you want to record on.

Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > backup: make sure to follow the installation instructions USB is plugged on when you start the backup utility.

Good luck! Please rate me upward if you find my post helpful. Thank you!
