Recording on another partition offline files

When I installed Win 7 I have created separate to the system & data partitions. When I enable offline files, it saves thesefiles in the small system partition, which is quickly fillingup. How can I change this location to the data partition (bigger)?

Make sure:

-start the PC in Safe Mode (makes sure files are not locked, etc.)
-you logged as an administrator (which did you, I think)
-When you get to the command prompt, right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator of
-type in cmd in the menu start of the search boxand use Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open in administrator mode. (It is the same thing as pointing to the invite command, do a right click on it and select run as administrator).

Now, run the command rmdir /s /q %SystemRoot%\CSC

It should work.

  • Can I copy the recovery files to another partition D?

    Hello

My drive came with C and D partitions, but I want to organize my partitions of different drive from the factory.
I want to slightly reduce the system (C) partition, create a partition to 15 GB, copy the files from recovery to there (to keep the recovery files isolated) and rename this partition as the new D drive.
The only thing that matters for the tool recovery work is to place the files on a partition of D?
    Has anyone done a thing?
    Will it work?

    Hey,.

To be honest I have don t think that HDD recovery works if you copy the files to another partition.
Why you want to do this?

I use the factory form C: and D: partition by default. On C:, I installed all my programs and on drive D: I saved my files private photo, music, videos, Documents, etc.

I don't see any reason to create a separate partition for HARD drive recovery files because they are saved in an additional folder.

When I choose a folder on a \\partagereseau hosted in another place, with less bandwidth and latency, the following events occur: 1) I mark a folder on the network share as 'always available offline' Sync 2) begins, and the entire folder disappears from the browser view only the folder synchronized with success is still visible. After Reboot: P1) when I'm offline only the folder snchronized is visible under the drive letter, nothing else (another where sync worked folder is not available offline are grayed out, have an 'X' on them, and are not accessible) P2) when I'm online I can see the folder structure one level below the drive letter , but all files offline. • I moved folders amd64 and i386 to another partition, later deleted them there and now have copies of 0 bytes in the trash who refuse to go away or to restore.

I found the folders containing these subfolders on my C:\ drive and thought I would move to another partition, because they are not referenced in the registry.  Years later, I deleted those same files, then erased and then removed again from the trash.

But they refuse to go away... remaining as with attrib C 0 byte files.  Does not restore.  Trash has no security tab by which I could take control of these nuisances, and Unlocker does not work.

Any way to rebuild the trash or otherwise to clean?  The files remain an embarrassing reminder of my foolishness, but otherwise my system is always very good.

See if this sounds like your situation and react accordingly:

When some programs (including Windows) installs things, it can create a temporary folder composed of 20-30 random letters and numbers or random numbers and letters in the root of the drive of the volume with more free space.

This explains why the records are sometimes on your C drive or any other drive - the most space?

For example, you can see a similar to or called folder:

    D:\9470bb12e8a4f3447657236478e41c5

There may be other folders and files in this main temporary folder such as amd64 and i386 platforms.

They should normally be deleted when the installation is complete, but sometimes they are not - especially if the installation fails.  They are harmless but annoying.  You can think something is wrong when there are no or fear, that the files are really necessary.  To avoid confusion, you can delete the temporary files.

If your installation has failed or the installation does not remove the folder to the random name when it finishes running again installation will be another folder at the random name.

You may be able to identify installation (out of curiosity) by looking at some of the contents of the folder and decide if this installation was not serious, just remove the files/folders.  If the installation does not work for some reason, run again just installation will create a new temporary folder to the random name so the old temporary folder is really useless.

Records are sometimes tough to remove.  Even if you are an administrator on the system, you might get a "sharing violation", "access denied", "used" or type similar message when you try to delete temporary folders.  Facilities sometimes use different permissions that can have a regular user with the administrator group.

There are many methods to try to remove the folders, and some require third party programs to install or change some windows settings that could compromise the security of your system if you do not change them back when you're done.

Start your system in Mode safe mode (by pressing the F8 key several times just before XP attempts to load) is a good method to try to remove the files because it does not have to make any changes to your system configuration or by downloading third-party programs.

If Safe Mode does not work you can change the security of the folder when you start in Normal Mode to give your username full control over the files by navigating to it in Solution Explorer, click on tools, Folder Options, view and in the advanced settings window, uncheck (at the bottom of the list) use simple file sharing (recommended) and click OK.  This disables him recommended simple file sharing on your computer if you want to turn it back on when you're done to make everything you do.

Right-click on the files of interest, click Properties and click the now visible security tab.  Change the properties, but you need (for example, select your user name, and check the box to allow full control), click OK to apply the changes.

With usage share of active simple files (recommended) the checked the properties of the folder tabs are:

    General, sharing, customize

With the use of sharing files simple disabled (recommended) box unchecked, the properties of the folder tabs are:

    General, security, customize

Now, try to manipulate/delete the folder.

It's a good idea to go back to the Explorer and the cheque in the box easy to use sharing files (recommended) when you have finished making everything you do.

If none of the above works, try a popular third-party tool called Unlocker.

    Unlocker can be downloaded here:

    http://www.emptyloop.com/Unlocker/

If you use Unlocker, be sure to install because he wants to add a bunch of options, addons, shortcuts and other extras that you don't need.

You must add the shell extension so when you right click on the offending file, you will have a Unlocker option to choose.  I would just install it long enough to clean up the leftovers and then, I usually just uninstall and all parts of it.  You can always install it again another day if you like.

Unlocker can be uninstalled when you have finished using it.

Reboot when finished to ensure that boring records are really missing.

  • Bootcamp partition bootable no more after the addition of another partition

Until a few days ago that my Bootcamp and OSX worked very well together. When I did my Win10 partition I created it with 64 GB of space. After a while the hard drive became too small, so I decided to add more space to him. The method that I was about to use is: create another partition 64, go to windows, mix two partitions with windows software.

After you have created the partition, I couldn't open Windows more. First he gave me the infamous "no bootable disc not found" - error and later the Bootcamp partition went in the menu selection that start with alt down. I tried several methods, I saw on the internet, but somehow I can not use the command "write" with fdisk, it gives me this error: "fdisk: / dev/disk0: operation not permitted".

Another mistake I met is: "fdisk: could not open/usr/standalone/i386/boot0 MBR file: no such file or directory" when you use the command "sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0. I tried this method (the solved by one): repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition and also some methods more I found on the internet, including some methods gdisk. They seem to all fail because the operation is not allowed when using "write".

    A few commands:

    sudo fdisk e/dev/disk0

Fdisk: could not open/usr/standalone/i386/boot0 MBR file: no such file or directory

El Capitan requires SIP should be disabled in the local food only, otherwise these operations fail. You cannot use Fdisk to correct this problem. You need GPT Fdisk (Gdisk) to rebuild the MBR hybrid. Please see Re: [help] can't start Windows (8.1) after resizing partition for example.

  • HP Envy X 2: laptop recovery partition (D) merged with another partition, not be able to create a recovery media

I have merged my restore partition HP with another partition I created. Data recovery files are still intact in the New Partition. I have not created a recovery media. When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

  • Help! My original disk offline files are copied in my reader users when I log on their machine!

I have users who use the offline files feature so that they can work on files of network when the network.  After using my credential and working on a user's computer yesterday, copies of my files from home drive now appears in the user drive home.  Of course, this is not acceptable.  It could reveal sensitive or confidential information to the wrong person.

Can someone tell me how this can happen?  The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right?  I connect in machines of so many people while ensuring support and cannot have copied my personal files in the home directories of others.  FYI, remap us the My Documents shortcut to the user's home or the H: drive.

  • Impossible to format a hard drive with XP Pro partition; some files to refuse to allow the deletion.

My original XP Pro OS has been corrupted after a CHKDSK procedure that wiped out the OS files. I finally had to re - install on another partition and now I want to format the C: partition to get rid of what was wrong with her. But the FORMAT has terminated before finishing on three tests. I deleted the 99% of the files, but about 5 or 6 are still saying that the system cannot remove them, and they are preventing the working FORMAT. Why the FORMAT is not just overwrite these files?

If you have reinstalled on another partition, then the boot loader is still on the origonal partition and formatting that partition will make your PC no longer starts

Start over and clean install win properly http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

BTW, a broken chkdsk procedure can indicate that your hard drive has a problem, you may want to visit your site from manufacturers of HD and download / create startup utility check disk for example SeaTools for Seagate drives

I redirected files offline on a different partition.  That has worked well for several months.  Something appears to be damaged. I can't look at partnerships.   When I try to sync, the process fails.  If I disable offline files, it says I have to restart to complete the process.  When I reboot, I get a blue screen on startup.  If I try the auto repair, which fails and indicates a required device is not available.  I recovered from a current backup.  I need to know what to do to just destroy all the stuff of offline file so I can restore it.  I am a tech computer and comfortable editing the registry.  BTW, I am running Vista Ultimate 32 - bit with all updates applied.

    ·        You get an error message when the synchronization process fails?

    ·        What was the Blue error screen that you got you to restart the computer to complete the deactivation process?

You can try to remove the sync partnership and add it back.  Who can get things working again.  See the following link on how to put an end to partnerships, then in the section above, how to create them.
