Recovery and re-install Windows7 after windows 7 problem

Hi, I have a damaged hard drive windows 7, with some bad sectors. I managed to install linux with an external HD and now I can see the files on my old hard drive. Does anyone know if I can make a recovery disk manually now. and if so how? And what should I do to re - install windows 7. I don't want to buy the operating system and manufacturing wants me to pay $ 60, which I believe is not fair.

Thank you

Buna,

Your question is about Windows 7 NOT Vista, which is where dhhuang re-directed you to!

To find out how the recovery disc and see if you can make them even though you'll have to see if this information is a manual that came with your computer or watch online Web site to computer manufacturers for this information.

You can also send or you can call for this information.

These are the people to ask about this.

Here is the CORRECT Windows 7 Forum for you if you still need them.

  • Impossible to get updates of Windows to work and cannot install anything after upgrading to SP3

After the upgrade to SP3 I met many problems. Any time I go to install it I get a Windows Installer error is not installed (even if this is the case) and I have to go to start/run and type Services.msc and the go to the installer of windows and right-click on it and select start and then install what I was tring to do.  Windows Update will not update and I tried to restart the installer and it does not work.  I tried the auto fixes but cannot get them to work because they will not install either or will not run.  I had to uninstall Windows Defender as I am unable to update the definitions it is basically useless.  All this started after I did a full cleaning of the computer and then downloaded the original Windows XP that I bought from Dell.

  • How can I install windows7 alongside windows 8 on a pc of UEFI firmware

I've been a fan of windows8, but now I just can tolerate more. I find myself posting several times on the forum because I bought a pc brand new windows8 in June 2013. Windows8 is a cool OS but I can't take more with the problems, he gave me. I find myself punching my pc because of the anger and closing the lid really hard because I hate windows8 performance.

    First question:

My wireless lan driver is horrible. I can't download large files on my pc because my computer disconnects every 10 minutes after I connect to a wireless network.

    Second question:

My mouse sucks. I was a big presentation in my school and the next thing I knew was that my mouse had disappeared from the screen. It's really annoying because I had to reinstall the drivers, then restart the computer on a projection screen. This happens often and it is one of the reasons why I want windows7 on a partition.

    Third question:

Most of my keys on the keyboard still stop sometimes. Most of the letters or homework, I type on my laptop must be checked several times before submitting it.

I tried to install windows7 on my pc on a different partition, but it simply doesn't. I know that its to cause of UEFI firmware and I have put it in legacy mode, but my windows8 will not start when I do this. I have seen and read a lot of posts, but it doesn't seem to work. At one time I tried to install mac that wasn't a good idea.

    How can I install Windows7 alongside windows8

PS: I love windows8, but I can't use this operating system more at school because it bothers me a lot.

If you keep the computer abuse, you have nothing to use or reinstall Windows 7 on. Treat the system with the best care.

Are you sure that most of your problems with Windows 8 is not related to:

1 driver with your network card problem?

2 have you tried to connect to the Internet with a wired connection to see if the problem persists?

    3. have you checked for Mouse/touchpad update the drivers from the manufacturers Web site?

    4. it looks like the issue with the keyboard and all the problems, may be chipset related, you can also consult the manufacturer of your laptop site for driver chipset update.

    5. considering that your system was manufactured in June of 2013, it probably came with Windows 7, Windows 8 No, you would of course, was given a free upgrade to Windows 8 depending on the date of purchase.

  • Installing drivers after Windows XP reinstall on Dell Dimension 2350 with Dell resource disk

    Hi all

Recently, I did a clean reinstall of Windows XP (home edition) on my Dell Dimension 2350. Everything went well. Now, I need to install the appropriate drivers. I have the Dell resource disk and this is where the problem starts.
As noted elsewhere, after reinstallation of that display on the screen of the disk resource is as it is in 'Safe Mode '. I was aware of this. Therefore, the search criteria screen resources drive was a little bigger than the screen of the monitor. I managed to its size to fit the screen, but this really isn't the problem, is the following: the search criteria options I have in the dropdown menus (on screen) are the following:

System model: all, DXC061, DXP0G1 Dimension, Dimension E521, DM061, Dimension C521, XPS710 (who, if necessary, to choose?)

Operating system: (I think I got this one) all, Windows XP

Topic: (maybe this one too), Dell Diagnostics, Diagnostics, drivers, Applications, utilities

For the life of me I can't understand the correct drivers, I am to install *. Windows XP appears in the menu of the operating system. I know enough about the order of installation, but as I said, I'm a little confused on the selection of the drivers from the disc. This computer is not connected to the internet at the moment so I can't download and use any kind of pilot program. Other research have confused me more far and provided no precise answer to this problem.
If anyone can enlighten me on the solution step by step to this (I think "Dell resource disk for Dummies"), I would be extremely grateful.

    Thank you all!

    * If it will help, I went in (with "Show Hidden Files" active) Device Manager and it shows (with the yellow question mark) are:
Other devices: Ethernet Controller, multimedia Audio Controller, video controller (VGA Compatible).

You need, in the order of installation:

    1. Driver Chipset
    2. Video driver (depends on what video card)
    3. Audio driver
    4. Network driver (depends on who you are)
    5. Modem driver, if you are using a modem

Go to the Support page and put in your Service tag. He expected to give you the drivers you need. You can download them to any PC and copy it to a USB key for installation on 2350.

You only need applications, if you actually use them (for example, Roxio, Jasc Paintshop, etc.).

Then install your antiviral software and get in line on the Microsoft Update site for all patches and updates.

Please keep in mind that XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and they stopped release of the security fixes for XP and IE9, more than 1 year. So they're all two full of security holes and put your data personal in danger.

  • Install Ubuntu with Windows 10 problems.

    Hello

I had problems trying to install Ubuntu with Windows 10 (and Linux Mint also has problems). When I try to mount my hard drive (with 10 Windows on it), it says that Windows is put into hibernation. I want to install Ubuntu with Windows and not to clean install. Ubuntu detects my external hard drive and said: «There are currently no operating system installed...» ', but it does not detect my hard drive with Windows 10 on it.

    Thanks for any help,

    DaComputer Guy

Sometimes, when the quick start is activated, it can cause Linux to correctly identify the Windows partition as being in the State of hibernation. Try to disable the quick start and see if it solves the problem:

    1. open the Control Paneland turn the mode icons

    2. in the list, go to Power Options

    3. in the left pane, click choose the power buttons what

    4. scroll down and uncheck the Quick start

  • I need help for any moment of recovery and re-setting updated to Windows 7 Pro home

MY HARD drive crashed.  I don't know where to find my code to use the Express upgrade to return to Windows 7 Professional that I had already purchased Home Premium Online.  Any help?  The support of the Web site has been less than helpful.  I spent $99 on it, I want to just return.

The product key must have been sent to you. If you had registered with a Windows Live ID account for your purchase, you should be able to recover the product key.

Sign in to your account with your Windows Live ID (if you have it when the PIN has been entered) to access your product key, you can check your email for the confirmation e-mail you received when the PIN has been consumed to access your product key.

3 contact support if you have any questions: www.windows7.com/getkeysupport.

Why should I use my Windows Live account or create a new one?

Using your existing Windows Live account, or create a new account will give you access to your key product at any time online in the future. It is important to use an account and a password which you are familiar with to allow you to get easy access to your information and to receive the confirmation e-mail which will include your product key.

Will send me you a confirmation email with my product key?

Yes. An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. Note: If you use an email tool or spam blocker spam filter, be sure that you can receive e-mail messages from microsoft.com.

What happens if I lose my product key?

If you lose your product key, you can return to www.windows7.com/getkey and sign in using the "Sign In" link in the upper right of the page. This will allow to recover your product key if you have established your account with your Windows Live ID. If you do not configure a Windows Live ID account initially there is no record of your online product key. Check your e-mail since it is the only trace of your product key.

Who should I contact if I have problems installing and / or activation of my product key card?

    Hi Newgirl11,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

We don't have much information about the compatibility of the game with Windows 7, you can see the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/enus/search.aspx?type=software&s=family%20feud

To work around the problem, you can try to install the game in compatibility mode and check if it works very well.

To run the troubleshooting program compatibility Troubleshooter

    1. Open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under programs, click on run programs for previous versions of Windows.
    2. Follow the instructions contained in the resolution of the problems.

If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the Troubleshoot utility, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. This utility is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
