• 15 - f010dx: Notebook is less than 2 months old and now won't turn on.

  I have a HP Pavilion 15-f010dx it's a little less than 2 months and is rarely used for light work. This morning I went to for use and the computer has been insensitive. I held the power button down and run to make sure that the computer was not "slow" mode. There is no display on the screen, "Wifi (airplane mode)" button was lit in orange colour and the 'Caps Lock' button was blinking. I assumed that the battery needs to death during the night, so I plugged the AC adapter and let it charge for two hours before trying to see if things would turn out. I tried on and I saw the same lights come on in the same way that I used the additional observation that I na could not pay attention the first time hear the computer will start and then stop Turing, this action repeated for quite some time, all while the lights stay on. I removed the battery from the computer and unplug the power cord I pressed the power button and held it for a minute or two, I plugged the cord back and the computer has been insensitive to this action. I have replace the battery and tried to turn it on again and I went through the same thing. The lights for the 'WiFi' would be on, key Caps Lock flashing and I hear the system starts for a few seconds and then off. I'm not sure what could cause this problem and I'd love to help, try to understand this.

  Reformatting and reinstalling Windows because you meet one
  problem is almost always a very bad thing to do.
  With a minimum of care, it should never be necessary to reinstall

• X 230 HARD disk failed after less than 6 months...

  I have a laptop computer X 230 and I run the Diagnostics and health care system and it seems that the HARD drive has no 2 test here: 'targeted reading test' and 'SMART short self-test.

  The same program said my warranty expires in 240 days, but I don't know that I bought the cheaper coverage option, so I don't know exactly, what is covered by the present.

  Can you please give me some advice on how I should contact Lenovo to replace my HARD drive if it is covered by the warranty?

  AFAIK all ThinkPads are covered by at least 1 year warranty. The HARD drive is covered by this warranty, so you should be able to get it replaced.

  I contact Lenovo support and provide them with the results of the health care system and Diagnostics. This should be sufficient to establish that the HARD drive has failed.

  I hope that you have already created a recovery media and/or have recent backups of the data on your HARD drive. Lenovo will send you a replacement HARD drive, but you will be responsible for the restoration of Windows and your data on it.

  First of all, I would say that you install the latest drivers for the integrated webcam site of laptop manufacturers and are looking for the latest drivers for the installation of the webcam it restarts the computer and check if it works.

  I just wanted to put out there based on some information that gave me my verizon tech REP - April 13, 2010, I bought a pre Plus and in the 19 days of purchase (the next day after downloaded 1.4.1.1) I received a phone call, but he has not heard a thing. I call the person and you don't hear anything. They remember and I try speaker; suddenly I hear a voice, and they hear me. Now it is May 30 and I am on my 2nd pre more last night it happened again. For some reason any and just out of the blue, unless I'm on speaker, I don't hear anyone and no one can hear me, and happens for no apparent reason other than a software glitch possible.

  The Verizon tech support person mentioned that they receive their well-known problems of Palm, so I write here to say that it is perhaps something to look at. Thank you!

  Have you tried to use the headset? As mentioned in several forums for devices WebOS, WinMo and Palm OS (as well as in the forums for other manufacturers), if lint, dust or debris gets stuck inside the headphone jack, it can fool any electronic device into thinking that a headset is inserted.

  Try the helmet and let us know what happens.
